- M1 MacBook Air

- iPad Pro 2018

- iPhone X

- AirPods (regular and Pro)

Those are the ones I think of right now, going back 5 years approx. Not super impressed by the AW, ATV, Studio Display et.c.

- Iphone X (good damn way of using it one handed, killed every android phone I touched that time)

- Macbook Pro M1 until they showed Notch (5#!$!@)

- iCloud family

- TimeMachine when we used it at work and it just worked all damn time

- When I was servicing 2009-2011 Macs and I have seen how nice they are built and how Apple is starting to limit repairability (third party battery could prevent CPU to run all cores but only half were able to use and also slowed down)

- iPad Pro 2018 when I had it first time in hands and then used and even type using it… sadly over time it’s 11 SoT time is now 5-8 with 89% Battery Wear (SOH) (from logs-aggregated shortcut )

I was excited for the AW Ultra most recently, then the M1 MBP lineup. I didn't get the MBP until this past June, but I'm thoroughly enjoying both.

Pretty recently getting my M1 Pro MacBook after being an iMac person for so many years. The screen is stunning, the speakers are great, and I love the performance when working. Still thrilled with it.

Opening my 2017 MBP for the first time and having it automatically come on was exciting.

I literally broke into an uncontrollable smile when I first tried Transparency and Noise Cancellation on AirPods Pro. I had never used ANC before, just passive, and hearing the immediate silence in the middle of a crowded Apple Store was unbelievable.

Also, the first time I tried an M1 MBA in person was absolutely astounding. The fact that everything was instantly responsive with 8GB of RAM and that it absolutely destroyed my Mac in After Effects rendering even without a fan was unreal.

But by far, the biggest “wow” moment I’ve had with Apple was software…

Installing the first beta of iOS 12 on my old iPad mini 3 breathed new life and unbelievable responsiveness to my years-old device. It was an amazing feeling. I was showing my family members for days.

I've become older and Apple products have all become so iterative that nothing really excites me about any of it any longer.

When was the last time you were really excited about an Apple product and what was it? Seems more and more folks are buying to replace older items, not because they are truly excited about the new product. Sort of like a lot of "ho'hum, I need a new one" thinking rather than "oh hell yeah!"
Spatial audio was the last thing for me. When I tried it on a film on the iPad I was genuinely blown away - I was using APP and I just couldn't start to understand how they created that depth from those little IEMs, plus, headtracking was some sort of gypsy magic!

Some other - BFP - fantastic. IPP 2020 (with MK and AP - as I was coming from a Gen2 iPad) was truly impressive. iPhone X - still miss it now (got a 13 pro now). AW 4 (my first AW) was really great for me (and running with them).

The M1 iMacs were exciting. It was nice to see the return of fun colors.

Sadly most tech these days is just boring.

Forgot about that. Spatial Audio was also super cool.

Spatial audio is actually rather old. Consumer products like Aureal A3D came out in the 1990s but even before that it was a NASA project spin-off from the 1980s.

Yeah, but Apple gave it a cool new name ... which means they invented it

;)

So can we only answer with products that Apple invented? Seems rather limiting.

The last time was possibly exactly one year ago when I got the 14inch MBP, so the track record is surprisingly fine, I guess.

When it comes to the iPad, I was excited for each one I got (Retina Mini, the 6 and the 2018 Pro), the same goes for the iPhone, but here the last one I got was the X and that was possibly my peak Apple excitement. MacBooks apart, the last years have been more than meh to me

Mini 5 since I had an iPad 3 before, so the form factor hadn’t been released at the time I bought it. I liked it, but couldn’t justify the money. I decided I wanted another iPad in 2018, so it wasn’t certain at that time that the Mini wouldn’t be discontinued.

Mini 6 had the excitement taken out of it somewhat by the jelly coverage, so it was need to check if it’s bothersome/noticeable to me rather than I must have this now.

iPhone 4 also (my first iPhone.) It had been out for 6 months when I got it but the store had sold the last one they had earlier that morning, so one from the next day’s delivery was reserved for me. They said they’d phone when it was in, so I was waiting for the phone to ring all day. In the end I went along to the store having not heard from them, as I wouldn’t have got there by closing time if I waited any longer to hear. It was New Years’ Eve and the phone was there when I got there, thankfully.

I was pretty excited about the iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPad Air 5. Wasn't planning on replacing my 11 Pro, but the deal was great and the phone had me interested. The iPad Air was what I was waiting on to replace my aging iPad 6th Gen model, I've been using the new one more than the one it replaced.

The late 2018 Mac mini was probably the last big excitement I had, but I was coming off the late 2012 21" iMac. The new Apple Silicon Macs have me excited, but nothing I want to get at the moment since it's all 1st and 2nd generation at the moment.

I was super-excited for all the most recent devices I’ve bought: iPhone 13 Mini and iPad Mini 6 and iPad Pro 12.9 2020. And all of them have been great and have surpassed my expectations.

I’m also excited for the M2 Mac Mini when it comes. It will be my first Apple Silicon Mac.
