Follow up on my Pitaka MagEZ Case 3: In my original post I talked about how much I liked it, but that it did have a very slight manufacturing defect wherein the one corner didn’t quite curve up and over the bottom right of the phone. (A normal person would not have even noticed.) My concern was that a drop on that corner could crack the screen. Of course with a case this minimal, drop protection isn’t the main purpose or my primary concern, but why potentially give up the protection that I have? I emailed Pitaka and they sent me a new case (didn’t have to return the one I have) as well as a ‘carbon-fiber pen not for sale’ which is actually not bad.

So, just a shout out to their customer service. Still really liking this case, and now my only complaint is the fingerprints. And as I mentioned in a different post, that’s an issue I’m trying to mitigate 👍

They got back to me after a couple of days regarding my "gray" question. No plans in the works for either case in that color... :(
Ah ok, hope you can still get a color you like.

Caudabe's support seems to be ignoring me now. Zero email replies going on almost a week.

The case is nice though so can't argue there.

Yep Pitaka cust svc is really on point. I had the camera ring issue on the mag ez 3 and they were pretty responsive and as accommodating as they could be to support the customer relationship. Very cool experience.

Just got the (edit pitaka) mag ez pro 3 for the 14pm. I’m definitely digging its vibe; sleek, stealthy, minimal, professional, futuristic. Love the thoughtfully tapered edges along the corners of both sides (screen and back). Just a very refined feel overall. I’m pretty impressed at how nicely the aramid fiber is integrated with the tpu (?) sides. It does indeed show prints easily, but I wipe down my cases from time to time anyway. But something to consider for potential buyers if that’s an issue.

The best way to get rid of Pitaka fingerprints is to make your own cleaning spray. This is actually a fantastic way to have an electronics cleaning spray on the cheap and you can clean your other cases (except maybe leather).

Here’s how you make a spray that doesn’t damage oleophobic coatings or ANY coatings and you can even use it on your iPhone and coated glasses/sunglasses etc:

Fill up a small spray bottle with ONLY distilled water and add 2-3 drops of unscented dish soap, and shake! The tiny amount of dish soap is to safely break up the oils/dirt/dust in whatever you’re cleaning and it lifts it off the surface. Use a clean microfiber towel to wipe it off.

Everything should look better than new and no mess or residue or unwanted coatings on any surface. Plus it will be actually CLEAN.

Enjoy!

Caudabe did say that if demand was there for them to produce gray cases once again they would reconsider, so be sure to let them know if you'd like a Sheath or Synthesis in gray.

So Cal
i know some of you were complaining about phone rebel because of missed in stock dates and delays. i've had every single iPhone since the original and have bought a million cases (probably not an exaggeration) but have zero past experience with them. i have to say i have been very impressed with their operation as a first time customer. I ordered the rebel on day 1 and have it, shipped same day. as others have said already, the case is solid and my favorite to date. I also ordered the orange buttons, they shipped next day and i have them already. somebody on here said they really liked the flex (you know who you are and its your fault). about six months in on every new iPhone i usually end up using them caseless for a bit so i thought the flex might be perfect. i ordered it this morning (Saturday) and a few minutes later i got a shipped email from phone rebel. i figured it was just an automated thing and i wouldn't see actual movement until monday. but no, it really did ship and is already traveling through the usps system. phone rebel rocks.

Any other PR users finding the gen 4 just too slippery on the back? It could push be back to the sheath or speck grip as it stands

they are waiting for everyone to buy the colors out now then once Black Friday passes and everyone and there mom has purchased them after Black Friday they’ll drop the Crimson at full price so people can buy all over again
Slipped my mind that Black Friday is coming up. I’ll finally grab my first Caudabe case (probably Synthesis, in blue) when the sale drops.

for me i find both the gen 4 and flex to be just fine, it's like that to reduce fingerprints, i dunno with how i use my phone i don't rely on the back grip at all so it don't bother me

PR Gen 4 seems great so far , and pretty much no fingerprints and tight all around… but I wonder is the back fiber real or is it just a sticker like what dbrand sells

why is it always so hit and miss whether flip cases will charge wirelessly?

got two cases for my 14 pro, one from amazon, one from a local chain. the one from amazon works okay with the stand i have in the office, works okay with a magsafe charger but doesnt stick to it (not a surprise) but struggles with a 3 in 1 bedside charger.

the local one, which i bought because the amazon order was so late i thought it wasnt coming, fails to charge with any of the 3.

That’s a good one. I usually dilute some rubbing alcohol with distilled water. For those who aren’t aware, Apple’s official stance is as follows:

Is it OK to use a disinfectant on my Apple product?
Using a 70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipe, 75 percent ethyl alcohol wipe, or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes, you may gently wipe the hard, nonporous surfaces of your Apple product, such as the display, keyboard, or other exterior surfaces.

I’ve found that even further diluted alcohol does the trick, and as Motionblurrr recommended, having some good dish soap diluted with distilled water is a great general purpose cleaner. In addition to phones, works great for most vehicle interiors. (Standard disclaimers of testing a small area first, YMMV, etc.)

So one thing I noticed today when actually talking on the phone (who even does that anymore, lol) was that the PR Gen 4 was more comfortable to hold vs. the Flex. So now I'm even more torn. I enjoyed running with the Flex yesterday, so today I'm running with the Rebel and we'll see.

One thing I noticed tho - I put on the buttons that I bought with the PR and the power button doesn't feel all that clicky. The volume buttons feel fine.

Had the same issue with the power button. I took the sticker off the back of the black stock button and put it on my red button and the feedback is perfect now
