So at 11am I ordered the Simply Carbon Fiber case. At 1pm I got a shipped email with a tracking number. Insane. So I have that coming and a Patchworks coming. I gotta get out of this thread! Lol

Which case will you be getting for your new XS/XS Max? [MERGED]

My Sheath is scheduled for November 9, but when viewing tracking details, it's in my state already. I'm hoping I see it tomorrow. (And I really hope they switched it from the Xs to the Xs Max like their customer support assured me of!)
You should also hope that your USPS person knows the difference between a 2 and 1. Unlike mine lol
Mine was the same yesterday but for the 8th. Today it says “TENDERED TO DELIVERY SERVICE PROVIDER”.
I usually get my stuff delivered to my work, but ever since my reliable mail carrier retired, the Post Office has been using a different kid every day and sometimes they come after we're closed!
In my confirmation e-mail, it said they had shipped via DHL, so I figured they used DHL initially who then handed the package off to USPS, but my tracking number doesn't work on DHL's website, only for USPS. (My tracking history says shipping partner: DHL ECommerce, though.)
I'm really looking forward to this case. I think I've read nothing but really good things about it. I've been trying to find out how much thickness it adds. I'm thinking it's only slightly thinner than the Apple leather case.
the Sheath measures just around 9mm in thickness...that is, if i recall, thinner than my iPhone 7 apple leather case was.

Okay, so I’ve been trying cases and such, but haven’t found anything, other than the Apple leather case, that I’ve really loved, but I’ve been using the same style of case for years now and I’m getting bored. Does anyone have any recommendations for cases that don’t add tons of width? I don’t necessarily care the case is thicker, it’s the width that bothers me. Anyone got some recommendations?

Caudabe claims 6+ ft. I don’t know if I believe that and I’ve never seen a drop test of this case. I’ve dropped mine from about waist height onto my hardwood floor and it was fine, for whatever that’s worth.

i'm not sure i trust the 2m rating, but in my estimation, its in the same line of protection as many TPU cases out there except in two areas:
1. the camera is protected by a separate ring that makes the case have it's unusual "thin profile"
2. there is a front screen lip, but its less than other cases
both of these probably shave off 1.5mm relative to other cases discussed here. i'm not so concerned about #1, but i do wonder if the shallower lip, combined with my 0.33m iCarez screen protector leaves too little a lip for screen protection compared to more standard "mid level" protective cases.
but as other have noted: the texture is awesome and it makes me think that would help prevent some drops although there is no way to prevent a running child coming out of nowhere from potentially knocking the phone out of your hand...
i do love the thin profile overall though...as i noted above, it's about 9mm total thickness (not focusing on the camera ring) and it does offer significantly more protection (due to the gel based corners) than the minimalist cases out there.

If you like the leather you might want to look at the sheath. Nearly the same dimensions but covers the bottom.
I asked earlier but this thread moves so fast it probably got overlooked...What is the difference between the old & new version? I have an older one and don't see a problem with the cutouts?

The cut outs for the new speaker configuration and a smoother shell with less injection mold evidence and sharpness from what I’ve read.
The only noticeable difference should be that it now matches the asymmetrical speaker grills of the XS line. From what I’ve read here.

Based on what customer service told the people here then yeah if you order now you should get the new and improved.
