I’m upgrading from a silver 8 Plus to a Space Gray Xs and putting a black Apple leather case on it. So exited. It’s gonna be super stealth!
[doublepost=1537065733][/doublepost]Can anyone clarify, do last years X cases fit on the Xs? I suppose I could be proactive and investigate both dimensions of them. But if anyone knows, it’s appreciated. Thanks.

They do, only difference I can see is that the X case will have a slightly larger opening to the left of the lightning port, due to the X having more speaker holes.

Man it amazes me at what people like in terms of cases... that is some ugly freaking cases that some of you picked out. I guess it's whatever floats your boat! I've always used Speck cases and they aren't pretty either! LOL I just hate going naked on my phone because I want to get a few years out of it without it looking like it's been in war. So you do what you have to do.

Honestly, I just want something that helps against scratches. Is there anything out there that is not a case and just covers the back? Like something clear but really thing but isn’t noticeable.
Amazon sells tempered glass back protectors from various vendors. I had one on my old X for awhile. It added more weight to the phone than I liked though. Glass on front and back is heavy. I now use a film on the glass backs of my two 8 Pluses mainly to keep some tpu cases from leaving residue on the phone.

I pre ordered a Sena Ultraslim for my XS Max.
I've had these since the iPhone 4 days, and I've never had a single issue with them, top quality craftsmanship and materials.

Nomad released their new cases. I use the Nomad Rugged case on my X (my favourite case) and thinking about getting the new one version. It’s 33% thinner while still offering 6ft of drop protection.

If anyone buys one, please let me know how you like it! I am really doubting if it’s worth buying the new version.

Damn you! That hex case looks awesome and uk shipping is expensive...

Note that the border of the case around/over the front of the iPhone almost hits the screen. I read some reviews that complained about this...

Just bought a couple of these Ringke cases for 90 cents each at amazon. make sure you choose other seller, then ringke official store without prime shipping.

I was thinking about getting a Spigen case...
But those cases I looked at so far all have the old bottom speaker cutout and not the new unsymmetrical XS one.. ( even the Xs max ones have wrong cut outs...)
I really don't know if I want symmetrical cutouts if the speakers aren't ...

does anyone know if the speaker layout is the only thing that has changed between the Xs and the X...?

I never knew these cases existed. Did a fair amount of research and decided to purchase one! They look fantastic! Thank you!

Haha no problem! Thanks to 9to5Mac. I would’ve never known.

I ordered 1 of those and a Spigen. If you remember, message me when you get it and tell me what you think.

Sorry for the late reply. On Amazon, I always go to Amazon!
[doublepost=1537072343][/doublepost]For $54 it better not break it! Lol Every year I get a $10-$20 case and have never broken it. So the cheap ones have actually worked out for me.
[doublepost=1537072402][/doublepost]

I have used Spigen for the last 3 years. Never broke a phone. So I figured time to change it up..

Yeah I hear ya. I usually use Tech21 myself and deff want to switch it up this year.

Rokform...always...magnetic mounting is awesome and the case is really protective. I also get this one because I use the bike mount option and need a physical attachment.

Being able to easily carry the magnetic vent mount with me when I travel is the main reason. Plus, I simply added their “metal disc sticker” to the backs of other family members’ cases and put vent mounts in their cars. Now we can all drive other cars and know our phones of all different sizes will mount.

Was difficult to decide between Saddle Brown and Forest Green but the consensus seems to be that the brown ages better. Hopefully it’ll go with the gold!

My first iPhone was the iPhone 4S and I have always used Otterbox. I haven’t bought a new case since I got my 7+ so I checked today and see that they don’t have a defender with a built in screen protector any more. By the time you buy the case and the screen protector it is ridiculous.

Any suggestions?
UAG if you like protective

I bought a Presidio Clear case from Speck. Will be here tomorrow. I’ve used one with my 6s for 3 years and it still looks brand new!

Talk me into why I should spend $50 on the Apple leather case every year for the new phone instead of like 2-15 for a decent quality case that seems to work fine

Also, does the leather have a decent lip on the front, as in if it falls face first down the screen won't hit at all right? Unless you drop it on a rock or something obviously. Maybe I'd run it without a screen protector?

Imo the leather provides pretty good protection, many have said they’ve dropped their phone and it’s been fine.

I really like the look of aged leather and love how the case changes over time. This could be a negative for some though.

The buttons are the best I’ve ever used in any case, apple designed them so well they are basically an extension of the actual phone buttons.

The lip is big enough so that even with a screen protector it still keeps the screen from touching when laid face down.

One last benefit is that the bottom is free so swiping up is completely natural and easy.

How were the buttons and mute cutout on yours? Also did the leather actually look good? I like the look of that case but some of the videos I’ve watched make the leather look a bit fake, just an ugly uniform brown instead of what the pictures look like.

Anyone got any recommendations for a metallic bumper case for the iPhone XS Max?

These look pretty good. Wondering if there are any alternatives

Out of these two, which one would be better?

Thanotech will be selling a new version of their k11. I loved the 7+ version but have read that the X version had poor button response. Hopefully they e fixed that in this new one.

I got one when the X came out and the buttons were not amazing. However, I got a replacement one since a few weeks (due to the buttons) and those buttons are very clicky! The leather has a bit of a uniform color, but ages very nicely. It just gets nicer and nicer (if you like patina). The fit is amazing too.

I think I have decided on the Totallee for the XR if I can have it shipped to Sweden for a resonable amount of money. The Spigen AirSkin looks nice too, but no camera protection. Now I just need to find a 3D glass screen protector from a well known and reputable brand, but I have a feeling those may not be available until the phone is.

I got this Tech21 for my Xs. I’ve had them for my last 3 phones and love them

These look really good. I had one last year and it was pretty bulky so I’m glad to see them slim it down by 33%. I also didn’t see a black version last year and I see that now. I’m not sure about this vs the speck presido pro though. Speck has amazing buttons but it’s so hard getting the phone in and out of the case. Nomad had ok buttons. Decisions....
