It’s too slippery.

I tried Apple leather only once (for when I had the iPhone 8) and also found it too slippery. But from different people’s comments, the grippiness is mixed. I didn’t feel like playing the case lottery so just returned mine. The feeling was good (aside from the grip) and the smell was nice. But mine was as slippery as a bar of soap.

That said, I’m still slightly entrigued by a slim leather case...

Took of the Symmetry and the iCarez screen protector. Slapped one that’s not full screen and out the OB Pursuit back on. Giving it another go.

So, the Tech21 Evo Luxe arrived today and it's going back.

It feels really cheap, the mute switch is hard to activate, the feel of the buttons isn’t nice and the bottom end is quite exposed, I don’t get why there’s so much of the actual phone showing towards the bottom, pointless!

The phone doesn’t feel nice to hold with this case on, sounds harsh but it feels like one of the cheaper cases you would get from eBay.

The Nomad rugged case looks a bit better, if only the drop protection rating wasn’t half of what the Tech21 case is!

This is disappointing to hear as I was looking at this one for sure

can you please suggest me a transparent case (or cases) for XS Max that will not get yellowish in time and not that bulky?
I have never used such big iPhone before, used 3.5" and 4" iPhones and lastly I had iPhone 8. also, the case should not interact with the screen protector.
I think the Speck Presidio Stay Clear does not yellow. I’ve read mixed reviews on the case itself, though. However, one unanimous comment I keep seeing is that it is really, really hard to remove.

I hear the Clear Symmetry doesn’t yellow allegedly and I do know the Caudabe Synthesis doesn’t even though it’s a solid black side and frosty back pane. Stay away from the Caseology Waterfall Clear and Caudabe Lucid Clear cases please

Maybe if the phone falls face first, the phone shouldn’t pop out of the Speck case. :p;)

I gave up on tech 21 years ago. When they first used D30 I thought they were on to something. Then, they sold their sole for being in apple stores and getting rid of d30 for more slim cases that looked better. They have consistently had a poor sloppy bottom to their case that sags and doesn’t provide a lot of coverage, IMO

Sheath owners! How’s the screen lip? I’m sure someone has said it in here but I really don’t feel like searching through this 150+ pages hahaha

Please and thanks!

It’s there and comparable to the Symmetry. It’s a little less than I would prefer. With a 0.25mm protector it seemed fine to me. But with my 0.33mm one there is probably only 0.2mm lip.

Supposedly the synthesis is a smidge deeper. Still considering ordering one of those for that reason.

I put the evo check on but not sure I can use it all the time. It’s crazy the level Of protection, but the fingers prints and “floppy open bottom” trigger my ocd. ;)

I felt the same way about the one I had for my iPhone 7. Very bulky too, to give u that level of protection.

How are the buttons on the Nomad Rugged by the way?

I don’t mind the width, especially with the 12 feet of protection. It’s the other issues that get me. You’d figure they would close the bottom up a bit

Thanks! I’m pretty careful with my phones, and haven’t had a screen protector on my phone since the iPhone 6. Still torn if I should try the sheath. I have the Presidio grip coming tomorrow, and I’ve been loving my Ringke Onyx for a week now. First case since the Apple Leather that’s been on any iPhone of mine for more than a week!

Anyone try these newer Evutech? I kinda want this magnet mount which is super sturdy in landscape mode as well no target around me has the Xr cases tho. All are loaded with XS,X, and XS max.

I like the texture of the leather bottom and fabric up top. Not sure if there is a lip though?

I’m using a tempered glass from Caseology (they had a deal in it a while back before the XR came out). The Amazon page lists the glass to be 0.33mm high. The Sheath’s lip barely extends past my Caselogy tempered glass. I do wish the lip if the Sheath to be a bit taller..

That said, I do still really like the Sheath. Many pages back, some have mentioned it’s similar to the Silk Grip case. I had the Silk Wallet version 1 on my iPhone 8, and they’re both a bit similar. But my Silk one felt slightly less textured and felt more flimsy/floppy.. Not sure how my Silk wallet case would protect the phone since the size were kinda loose.

I’m not sure if I believe the drop rating of the Sheath. But it does feel a bit more solid to me. Hopefully it can handle 3-4 ft drops.

FWIW, the Silk cases are currently on sale on Amazon if you want something similar. I keep posting here since there’s more discussion about cases...even though I have the XR! But I’m tempted to pick up a Silk Grip in red to see how it matches my ProductRed XR...

Edit: Forgot to ask. Has anyone used PopSockets with the Caudabe Sheath? I’ve never used PopSockets before. It’s currently on sale at Best Buy and Target so I’m curious to try it. But not sure how it’ll stick to the textured surface of the Sheath.
