yeah, that's what i have heard...i guess they had some problems in the first batch they received have defects/being unacceptable to them.

i have an XS so those are in stock (i think they are for the XR too).

i'll provide a review when i get mine. (probably in a week based on past experience)

I haven't forgotten that I said I'd post my XS Synthesis impressions when I got it. My order apparently fell into the black hole between when DHL hands it to USPS, and when USPS, acknowledges that they have it. Even taking a day off for Thanksgiving, the shipping is already at 9 days. That DHL/USPS combo is vvveeeerrrryyyyy slow.

Unfortunately, my updated XS Sheath case has fallen into the same black hole. I'll post impressions of the cases when they arrive. Well, unless the 2019 iPhone arrives first. lol

Nomad rugged case in black. I'm surprised just how thin this case really is. The sides are almost Sheath like thin. High quality case that feels good in the hand and is not too slippery. The leather on the back is very nice and smells great also. Has symmetrical cutouts on the bottom (don't like that) and a nice soft microfiber interior back. The buttons feel good but there is little to zero lip around the actual screen of the phone. Not going to be very good for any face down drops. :(

The packaging and everything about this case screams high quality. Even comes with a nice Nomad package that includes 3 cool Nomad stickers and literature.

Overall a great case and I like it.;)

Oh no...
This case looks too good to pass up! I knew I shouldn't have refreshed my browser after my post. How are the buttons compared to the ones on the Sheath? Would you say the thickness is thicker than the Sheath but thinner than the Apple leather case? Ugh, I might have to order one. I freakin' just ordered a freakin' case last night, too. Dang it...

EDIT: Wow, their site is pretty neat. If you hover over a leather case, it shows you what the patina will potentially look like.

Cool little package of stickers that came with the Nomad rugged case.

Any recommendations? I haven’t use a screen protector on my phones since the 5 hahaha

I’m using the Bodyguardz Pure 2 Edge.
This screen comes with an alignment tray and goes on perfect.

A Bodyguardz screen protector saved my iPhone X from a face down drop onto a pile of rocks. It’s the one I always go with.

The iCarez from Amazon is also a good one.

For the money, a bargain

TETHYS Glass Screen Protector... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FQY28GR?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

Remind me a ton of iCarez. With cases like Symmetry basically edge to edge. Good fit

It’s really as thin as the Sheath? They must have changed the design a lot for this year. How are the buttons?

Not really as thin as the Sheath but it’s pretty damn thin. The rubber sides and bottom are mighty thin.
“Rugged Case” might be pushing it a little.

Any more fingerprints for Pitaka users?

I’m really wanting to give a protective case with good AC magnet mount a go. One that still wirelessly charges.

That really only leaves me with:

Evutec
Pitaka
Mous

Correct? Magnets built in and still allows wireless charging.

The Silk case I had for my iPhone 8 seemed like it was an iPhone 7 case which they labled for 7 & 8 (I know enough other iPhone 8 cases sold were in the same situation). One of the buttons activated too easily and the other 2 buttons felt off. I noticed other Amazon reviews mentioned the same thing. Wonder if it's similar to your situation with the XS case which may be just X cases relabeled.

I believe it was labeled X / XS

Evutec. Wireless charging works. Much better value for money than Pitaka.

Case closed

Tried out a carbon fiber Evutec at target today and it’s pretty slippery. Feels like the perfect size tho. Felt smaller than my speck grip.

The Pitaka bonus feature is their Magnet is also a wireless charger

Magnetic charger is also another $30 or whatever in addition to whatever their overpriced case costs.

Edit: yeah $50 case + $30 wireless magnetic charger. I’ll stick to my $39 Evutec and a cord LOL

I agree Pitaka is the worst value. The Evutec is def the best value but if wireless charging is important Pitaka is best. And I think they have the best (strongest) mount

Hooterville, thanks for the review and pictures! How do you rank the buttons compared to other cases you have? And do you trust the 6 ft drop protection claim after using the case?

I might go back to the pro- since I already have the mag mount
