I have completed my circle of carbon/aramid cases
Pitaka (from last year / not pro) best looking / minimal protection
Evutec - every day / mid protective
Pitaka mag Pro most protective / no lip (expect corners)

How do you feel about the Pitaka Magcase Pro with no lip aside from the corners? I wanted to pick up the Magcase Pro during the Black Friday deal, but the no lip stopped me. I was thinking for the times I’d want to put up with the bulk, might as well have the full lip.

I would prefer more(any lip) but it is not big deal, I am using screen protector and I am not dropper - I think. surprisingly Pro does not fill bulky, sits really comfortably in my hand.
Originally I wanted something more protective for holidays but I am going to use it for every day at least for time being

The greasy fingerprints that the back of these cases show completely kill them for me. :(

I bought this one in grey and had it replaced as the area around the buttons bows out and leaves a gap. The replacement had the same issue so I'm sending both back. I can see boardiesboi has the same issue there.. there's a noticeable gap around the buttons where dirt and debris can get in and scratch the bezel. You can see the gold popping out at the sides.

Just a heads up. I've been in contact with Bellroy and notified them that there's clearly a design issue here. Might not bother everyone but it will loosen up further around the buttons as time goes on. Not worth the money and it's too bad because it's a really good looking case with great grip.

Just to confirm that I just bought the same case and have the same issue. I had hoped they would have fixed the issue by now but they are still shipping cases that have a bulge. Will send them an email to see if there are any solutions

So sad because I really thought this would be my final case after trying a few others. I like how easy it is to remove the phone and it certainly looks good. I bought the orange colour for my gold phone and it looks distinctive. No drop protection but it never claimed any ( which is fine by me)

I saw one recent unboxing video for the Pitaka MagCase Pro and in the few minutes, I noticed a bunch of finger prints on the back already! The person in the video wiped it away..but that was such a turn off.

The problem is that they don't wipe off that easy.

Here are pictures of my coworker's RhinoShield SolidSuit in brushed steel with the wide/macro lens attachment and red buttons. She's using an iPhone Xs. The sides are smooth and slippery like the Spigen Liquid Air Armor, but the back and buttons feel really nice.

So you really like the mag pro more than the solid suit? I hate this forum a little, it keeps making me question my decisions....
Me personally because it has a little more grip than the SS. Even though the SS did have enough for me it doesn’t take much for a case to come around and offer better grip.

How does the width compare between the two? Mag Pro feel less wide?
The tech reviewer’s review of the mag pro looked to have a decent lip, no?

Like a champ, midget vaders has taken a beating and the stickers still fine no peeling things like that. 3 drops range about 5 feet that's me holding the iPhone XS Max in Midget Vader and no scratches - serious cosmetic abnormality super tough. The ultimate test will be mid-December when I travel for work again and go in and out of COLO's things like that. I'll give you a full report as those are the times it's heating up and cooling down quickly so we can see if it bows. Or when my dumb ass drops it again and how it holds up with Arizona sandstorms and monsoons things like that. At home, I normally use my Apple leather case since its so low profile and the minute I'm mobilizing out of the home office Midget Vader is activated. So he's only used for outside the house or tasks around the house type things and will be my new travel, Czar. I tried traveling with the Evtech Carbon and the back gets gross like contaigen gross so that ones been chilling. I have traveled a bunch with the Monarch Carbon and its amazing takes a beating and doesn't get gross. The Caseology waterfalls a joke same with the Lucid Clear I forgot to return so Ill give it to a buddy or something. The wifes beating the hell out of my Element Illusion case I loved until she got hooked on pop sockets so I lost that case to love. It's holding up well but does seem to scratch easily when in purse mode. Her Rinke Fusion case was nice but it didn't support pop socket so its mothballed. So once my new toys come from Element they'll get the full attack mode as well. That I'm looking forward to. I did get a Caseology Nero for my Apple Watch Series 4 that's pretty nice bumper compared to the dozens of others I've tried and hated off Amazon. We need to start a used once or twice swap meet on here @Hooterville I have I think 4 cases I'm sure someone would love that I didn't. Like I could care less about my Evetch case and the mount it came with so Im sure someone would want it at next to nothing so its not sitting here mothballed. Heck I even have all the boxes and stuff lol

Nomad rugged case in black. I'm surprised just how thin this case really is. The sides are almost Sheath like thin. High quality case that feels good in the hand and is not too slippery. The leather on the back is very nice and smells great also. Has symmetrical cutouts on the bottom (don't like that) and a nice soft microfiber interior back. The buttons feel good but there is little to zero lip around the actual screen of the phone. Not going to be very good for any face down drops. :(

The packaging and everything about this case screams high quality. Even comes with a nice Nomad package that includes 3 cool Nomad stickers and literature.

Overall a great case and I like it.;)

Hey love the shots but I was wondering if I could get a quick request for a shot near the lock button on the right side with the phone in the case straight face on. I just got mine in the brown and I'm trying to figure out if my case is defective or not with the rubber being a bit bowing outward on the lock button. Thanks!

Wow! i'm impressed. i'm too lazy to change my case very often and my wallet is already hurting with the four cases i've bought/ordered.

i'm glad its held up well in your drops. makes me think that if i don't like the Synthesis, i may return to the Symmetry as my alternative.

Are the buttons like nice now where they dont bobble around like the X case did cause that killed it for me on the Rhinoshields, like the buttons were loose and all over the place

I’m a unique user as half the year I travel for my job and a few months of the year I’m in Africa for my wife’s job. So case manufacturers hate me as I’m rough on thier gear and test thier bold claims real time

I have the Evutect Karbon Aer and the Magcase Pro and find the no lip is great(not using a screen protector, since I just joined the IUP). Personally, I think the Aer is the better looking case, as the Magcase Pro is kinda fugly in my eyes, but I kept it for a 3 week trip to China, Hong Kong, and Macau. Now feel wise, the Magcase Pro is solid like it's part of the phone. I love the no lip sides and bottom and it's probably one of the main reasons why I kept the ugly case.

I'm in a different case now. I'll do it in the morning and post it on this thread for you.

The buttons on the SS Max cases I have do not wobble around and are not loose.

Caudabe got back with me and said they sent the wrong cases to me! Will be sending out actual updates sheaths :D

Grrr... They did the same thing to me. They sent me out a replacement Sheath but it has the same symmetrical speaker cutouts as before. Now they will have to send me a replacement for the replacement. WTH?

And for those curious about the Synthesis, the XS Synthesis case I got had Symmetrical cutouts too. I thought the Synthesis was also supposed to have the correct XS cutouts. Am I incorrect?

Start Rant: My Totallee case that I got right after the XS release had the right cutouts. Why are these other case makers getting away selling "XS" cases that have the old X cases with the wrong cutouts? Case makers shouldn't claim its an XS case unless it has the XS cutouts, not the old X camera and speaker cutouts. OK, End Rant!!!!

Tried out a carbon fiber Evutec at target today and it’s pretty slippery. Feels like the perfect size tho. Felt smaller than my speck grip.

The Pitaka bonus feature is their Magnet is also a wireless charger

Interesting I find it to have a good amount of grip for me. Easier for me to hold onto than my Sheath, and my hands are pretty dry.

The Evutec I tried for the iPhone X last year seemed pretty slippery to me though. I don’t know if they changed something between last year and this year or if my hands have evolved somehow... lol.
