MobileReviewsEh mentioned he’s not sure if the Pitaka MagCase Pro will hold up in case of face first drop. Then he showed how easy the case popped off the corner.. It did seem like he got an older version of the MagCase Pro. He then showed the Mous Limitless and how stiff and hard it is to pop the phone out of the case.

I’m not sure though if the newer version of the MagCase Pro will have the corners easy to pop off as well.. Based on a few newer YouTube videos looks like it’s still easy to pop off..
The new pro is very different than the one for the X. The rubber edges are much firmer. One of my biggest complaints about last years was the rubber.

There are some drop tests that show this years model is quite durable, very much in line with last years. I prefer this years mode far more.

any recommendations on a nice clear case for a Xs Max with a nice size front lip?

Midget Vader is dope! Element Rally is fantastic same with Element Enigma or even the Element Illusion.. All fantastic options for super protection that’s not bulky

Might have missed it, did you post pictures of the rally with a phone in it? I keep trying for clear cases and keep failing. The totallee’s grip is great but they overdid the dots on the back and it looks frosted instead of clear so I’ll be sending it back.

I wish rhinoshield made a clear version of the solidsuit! Oh well, the search goes on...

Also, pitaka currently has a 20% sale code on their site. Should I try the mag case pro for $40.... hmmm, tempted to try it.
Somebody here said it works with their bodyguardz pure edge protector, right?

I have the puregear and also previously has the apple installed belkin. Both worked no issue.

is the Synthesis case really more protective and have better grip than the Sheath.
I tried the Sheath and liked the material but felt it was not protective enough and the side could have had better grip. I miss the old ZooGoo (ZoGu) cases with side ridges.

Haha..Haven't heard Zoogue mentioned by any others in a long time! Its my favorite case for my iphone 6 plus and 8. Was super disappointed they don't continue making cases for the newer iphones. My Sheath feels about the same in terms of thickness and protection as my old Zoogue..but the ribs on the Zoogue!

i had the Synthesis. I can't say it's grip was better than the Sheath. i'm guessing there is a modest greater level of protection in comparison to the Sheath due to its slightly thicker "rim" and what appears slightly beefier corners. front lip, however, was indistinguishable from the Sheath (about 0.2mm after having 0.33mm glass protector applied) and it's unclear to me whether the raised back is better protection for the camera versus the cushioned ring on the Sheath. if it weren't for the scratchable back and uneven feet/corners (rocked on a flat surface) i might have considered the Synthesis as a daily driver, but as for now, i'm back to the Sheath as my daily driver.

i don't have any other candidates to replace it now except maybe a symmetry at some point: better overall protection although i wish the front lip were deeper and the side button areas weren't so pliable/loose.

Any actual pics of SS Microfibre and possibly a review by a fellow member.

TIA

I'm selling a brand new one on eBay for the Max. Here's a picture.

i have to say, that is a sharp looking case. i still haven't handled a Solid Suit yet because of lack of local availability and the "Slippery Suit" name keeps running through my head :p

this microfiber looks like felt ... does it collect dirt easily? easy to clean?

Zoogue is/was my all-time favorite case.
I wore myself out trying to find one for the X only to find out they stopped production?? Best of the best with ridiculously low prices!

My gray microfiber solidsuit feels great. It def feels the most solid of any case I have. But even tho it seemingly has the least amount of bulk it feels slightly wider than any of my other cases. I can say mine is clean as I got it but i have probably only carried it for half the time of owning my XR.

I know... my new XS arrives today and I'm going to miss my ZooGue case on my iPhone 6 that still looks almost new after four years of use. Don't understand why their designs weren't popular enough to keep producing.

Is there any similar case anyone can suggest. Wasn't too thrilled with the Caudabe Sheath, would have been better with ridges on side and higher lip on the front.

I recently dropped my iphone xs max with the sheath case with an icares 2.5D on from a 4-5 ft drop. I got out of a lifted tundra and fell from my lap to the floor,
.... I thought it was done but to my surprised it came out unscathed. I kept the Uag monarch around cuz I was worried of drop protection too

good to hear a success story. did you see which way it landed? (ie, face plant, corner, back, ...)

Alright so I contacted Nomad and my case was defective. I just got my replacement and it fits perfect! thanks Hooterville for the help

I scrubbed the sides on my Sheath & Miracase Liquid Silicone, adds more Grip.

I've been using the Miracase for the last few weeks. Love the way it feels in my hands, Softer more confident Grip & Clicky Buttons. The RED is a lot brighter in person compared to the Apple Silicone. I like it because it doesn't blend in when sitting it on a table in a darkened environment, such as a Tavern. Easy to misplace or forget when the case is Black! The pic doesn't show how much the RED really POPS!

how is the front lip of the Miracase? Are you using it with a S/P?

Anyone out there using the Spigen Ultra Hybrid? how are the buttons? how deep is the front lip?

Comparison to the Sheath?

My phone is back in the Sheath. While I really, really liked the Totallee glossy clear (soft) because of how thin it is and how nice the phone looked inside the case, I found myself handling the phone gingerly because I was afraid of dropping it. I had absolutely no confidence in its protection, so I was constantly worried of the phone slipping out of my hand. (I have a 5-year-old niece that likes to use my phone to play Minecraft and ROBLOX, so that doesn't help.) I think I also missed the weight a slightly thicker case gives the phone. I know it sounds weird - I'm worried about dropping my phone but like a heavier phone - but the weight gives me a sense of security for some reason.
