So I used the Sheath pretty much exclusively during a week long trip as I felt it would provide more protection and easier to stay clean and wipe down than my other cases - less fuss. And you were absolutely correct - the Sheath kind of grew on me. I did need to just use it and get that muscle memory. It’s my favorite case right now.

About 1-2 weeks ago I switched back to the Caudabe Sheath too. Nice and slim, and much easier to get in and out of my pockets than my Miracase. =P

I gave the Sheath a good go, but the plastic rough feel just didn’t grow on me. It is very simplistic and fitted well definitely good for those days when you know you might be doing something dirty. However over all I would still prefer the Apple leather case.

However I must admit I found a new favourite, which is the Apple Smart Battery Case. I am a heavy user and having that extra battery is just so good. Never have to worry about running out of battery half way through the day. The nice grippy feel of silicone is great.

I would say only downfall it makes the phone heavier and collects dust a lot easier. But the benefits outweigh the negatives 100%. Just my personal opinion.

I really love my black Apple leather case but the front edges always look dull as if the finish has been rubbed off. I put conditioner and polish on them and then in a couple of days they look dull again. I guess it’s from putting it in and out of my purse pocket. The rest of the case stays nice and looks great.

I agree with you on the feel of the Sheath. It would be even better if it had a softer feel in hand.

You know what’s interesting, the Sheath carbon seems to have just a tad bit more lip than the classic. I thought it was just me thinking this, but recently @TechnicallyTee did a review of several Caudabe cases, which included the carbon. I asked him about the lip on the carbon and he agreed that there was little more lip. Tee was using the classic to compare as well.

The brown one is the best in my opinion. I don’t like the way the black ages. Just like you said it gets a bit dull. It’s definitely different leather feel to the brown one.

Even though I promised myself I wouldn't buy any more cases I couldn't resist an ebay sale and just bought an element illusion case and a speck grip for a total of $15. If I don't like them I'll probably just resell them here.
hey do you the ebay link on illusion case?because i cant find the cheaper ones thanks

So I decided to buy the silicone smart battery case for my XS max. I’m really not a fan. The case battery drains faster than I expected but it gets the job done and adds some extra juice. Also it adds a ton of weight to your phone and is very uncomfortable to hold lying down in bed. I’ll probaby mainly be using it for vacations and stuff like that.

I use it for the Xs and love how it feels haven’t taken it off since I got it. Extra battery life outweighs the cons of extra weight. I think with Xs it’s not as heavy as the Xs max.

I ended up buying more cases. But some cheaper ones from Amazon. I got the Torras Love Series case. It is just like the Apple silicone case but with no logo and much cheaper. Some reviewers complain about the edges peeling but also get free replacements. I guess time will tell. I know my Apple silicone case for my 6S Plus had the same problem with the bottom edges peeling from taking it on and off.

I love mine and think that the bump on the back makes it easier to hold. I do agree that it adds weight though.

I found a silicone case on Amazon that fits just like the Sheath with a closed bottom but has the softer silicone feel. I’m kind of loving it - minimal but decent coverage and just feels better in the hand.

They were both bought used.

I'll be posting both here for sale or trade later on. I guess overall Speck is just not for me, I love the grip but can't get over how hard it is to get it in or out of pockets.

The Element Illusion is very nice, it feels solid but slim and the buttons are great. I just don't like the grey color as much as I thought I would. I am now very tempted to buy a black one, it's by far the best clear case I've used for the max.

Indeed, sounds like a mess. Somehow I've managed to avoid the same fate - I just received shipping confirmation from AT&T. Hopefully they shipped the right thing.

EDIT: still in stock at $24.50, if anyone else wants to give it a shot

Thanks for the heads up. I ordered one last night and got the shipping confirmation this morning. Great deal!

I have most of the Element cases for my IPhone XS Max I love them it’s a great company

I bought the ESR Slim Clear Soft TPU Case for my XS Max. It didn't even last a full day. The buttons are terrible. While they're responsive, there's no feedback at all (tactile or audible), and I couldn't get used to that feeling. It almost felt like I got one of those Android phones where you squeeze the sides of the phone. That's how bad the feedback is. It just felt like I was squeezing the stainless steel sides to turn the phone on/off.

Currently, I've been switching between the Smart Battery Case and the Sheath, but I'm considering keeping the Smart Battery Case on permanently (even though it lowered my battery health to 97%, I like not having to worry about charging). However, I'm leaning towards purchasing a leather SolidSuit, but I don't know if I want to pay $40 for a case I might not like as much as the Sheath. The only reason I'd get the SolidSuit is for the leather back and the buttons. I don't think I'll like the width of the case and the lanyard holes on the side (an extra spot for dust to get trapped).

Are people still liking their SolidSuit cases, or has it been replaced with a new favorite?

Cool! Hope you guys get your cases.

AT&T cancelled my order but apparently kept my contact info because now I’m getting spam advertising from them.

That sucks - both the cancellation and the spam. Did you order the same case (XS Max leather in saddle brown)? If so, might be worth trying again. Maybe they got more inventory somehow.

They took a couple of days to ship my order, but it was delivered today. I like it - even if it's a touch more orange than I'd like. Not too worried about the color for now because I know it will darken over time. Hopefully I'll be able to post something in the patina thread sooner rather than later.

After I received the leather case, I went ahead and ordered a midnight blue silicone case (which was also 50% off, so $19.50). Because, apparently, a dozen cases isn't enough for me.

I may have a problem.

That’s awesome! What a deal!

Unfortunately my cancelled order was for the XS white silicone case. I don’t see any on their site this time. Stoked you got yours!

I got this case but bought the one for the XS instead of the X which is the phone I have.

Does anyone want it? I’ll ship it to anyone in the US. PM me if you want it.

It’s a great case - I found the one that exactly fits my X.

I just got the Mous Clarity case for my XS Max. It was a bit of a punt as I haven't seen a single youtube review of the clarity but I was interested to see how it was and they had a 20% discount code.

I tried the Mous limitless 2.0 leather a while back and had to send it back because it was far too slippery for me. It wasn't just the material used for the sides but also the profile/shape which meant it just didn't sit right and I always felt I would drop it. I like the idea of Mous though so kept considering the Clarity.

Initial impressions and I am really quite impressed. The case is thinner overall than the limitless, and lighter I would say, and the material used for the bumper is much much gripper and a better shape to grasp on to. The see through back is slippery but no more so than any other case of this style. The look of the case is very much that of a bumper and it would be easy not to notice the back panel from a distance (I have a silver iphone). It fingerprints but again not any worse than other cases like this and from a scratch point of view it is too early to say - but it does look better out the box than my UAG PLyo did which already had lots of micro scratches.

I definitely like this enough to use it for a few days and to see how I get on. In many ways I would just like to stick with my original apple leather case but I always worry that one bad fall in that case and serious damage would be a risk. In something like a Mous I would feel much better protected. As a general rule I don't drop my phones at all but accidents do happen! It also quite nice to be able to see the colour of the iphone. I bought silver for a reason but then most of my other case options have just been black and covered it up!

I’ve seen that case on their site also but not interested enough to give it a try. Do you have any pictures?
