I’ve been using the Apple silicone case for a couple of days now. I feel like it hugs the phone more than the leather case and doesn’t feel as wide, so I prefer the dimensions of the silicone case better. The buttons are better than the Smart Battery case but aren’t as tactile as the ones on previous generations.

Whilst I like Apple's silicone colours - my one pet peeve with the cases themselves is how much lint they attract + grippiness is far TOO grippy, especially when inside a jeans pocket.... When you pull the phone out the whole pocket wants to come with it (it nearly pulls the pocket inside out!) and is just caked in lint/dust.

I completely understand your comment. I like the colors of the silicone cases as well, particularly pacific green. In my opinion, the soft silicone feels better than the leather, and I like how the logo looks on the silicone case compared to the debossed logo on the leather (I love the buttons on the leather case, though). I just hate taking the silicone case out of my pocket, especially when I'm sitting. To its credit, the grippiness of the silicone case comes in handy when I'm wearing joggers or basketball shorts.

Hey guys does the iPhone X apple genuine leather case from the apple store for the iPhone XS or does the camera not fit?

I dropped my XS Max for the first time this morning, from 5 feet in the Caudabe Sheath. The phone fell like a pinball banging between my bed and nightstand, then on to laminate flooring. It hit hard on top corner. There was a mark there. Later took case off to clean phone. No damage.

I've been using the leather (real leather) case from Saddleback for a few months now. It's the first time in a few years that I've gone with a case that was not folio style, but I wanted to give the real leather case a try. It's rugged looking and very unique, unlike any other case I've seen.

Must be catching. I dropped mine for the first time this morning, off the bath straight face down onto the tiled floor. Had the apple battery case on. No damage at all.

A woman I like (actually gaga for) said she liked the Sheath I was using, so I gave her my case immediately. I then ordered a replacement. While I was waiting for the replacement Sheath to arrive (around four days), I started using my Apple Silicone Case. I put the replacement Sheath on yesterday and now I find it to be too slippery! I got so used to the grip from the silicone case that the Sheath feels like a wet bar of soap now. Fortunately, I ordered a Miracase Liquid Silicone Case, so I'm hoping it gives me the same amount of grip but with better buttons that Apple's version. Otherwise, I'll have to train myself to get used to the Sheath again.

Coming back to Apple from a moving to an Samsung S10 Plus.

Ordered an xs max and have ordered the Caudabe Sheath.. Loved that case the last time I owned one and no other cases are needed imo.

I had a mous limitless 2 aswell but was slightly bulky and a nightmare to put on/off the phone.

Ordered the carbon version this time around.

I was at the Apple Store today and was playing with a leather folio case. Seemed pretty nice until I looked at the price: $129?! No thanks. But is there anything similar to that? I liked how small it was still being a folio.

I think I know why my replacement Sheath is so slippery: it’s made differently than my previous Sheath. I checked it against my previous version and it feels like a different material (it feels a little more rigid and smoother; not as rough or “rocky”). Also the cut out for the lightning cable is very, very sharp on my replacement while the previous case was smooth, so the case hurts my pinky as it’s resting on it. If this darn woman didn’t make my knees weak, I would still have my original Sheath that I (judging from my previous posts) love to hate.

Don’t know if you can get these in the US but these are as good as the apple folios.

X cases don’t fit the XS

XS cases fit the X
Get the case that is made for the phone. I have an X and Apple told me that the XS case was the same and would fit. It does fit the phone but the camera hole is off to the side - off center. For me, if I’m going spend the money for an Apple case, it’s because of the precise fit. I returned the XS case to Apple and found actual Apple X cases that fit correctly from 3rd party sellers. I found both X Apple cases - black leather at Best Buy and the saddle brown on Amazon.

I have the apple leather case in brown and I love it. Always had silicone until recently but found a deal on an open box one at Best buy

I have used slim TPU cases with all my previous Plus size phones. This time with my X, I have the black and recently bought the saddle brown. I really like the saddle brown and the patina that it develops. I’ve only had mine for a few weeks so it’s just dimmed down from the bright orangey-yellow color.

Been pretty satisfied with the Speck Grip, Mous Limitless 2.0 and Dbrand Grip v2.

The Grip V2 will be my everyday carry as it provides about the same coverage as the Limitless and does have better grip.

Also love my phoneloops as I just can’t be a pop socket guy. Also allows for wireless charging.

Good looking out! $80 is a little steep but I might check it out.

If you're looking for leather, Vaja has 25% off site wide this weekend with code "REMEMBER"

I hear ya about the prices of Apple's cases, which are nice, but if I'm gonna spend big bucks on a leather case, I prefer to spend it on leather that hasn't been so heavily processed, homogeneous in appearance, and lost much of its natural charm, so-to-speak.

We've reached the point where the quality of vinyl is so good, and the quality of leather has declined, so that the two can almost be indistinguishable except for the smell. This is particularly true with automotive leather, which is basically top-coated animal hide.
