I've been using the Sheath as I wait for my Totallee Clear (Soft) to arrive (it's out for delivery), but I figured I'd give an update on the TORRAS Love Series Case I used for a little bit. I've mentioned that the buttons on the case are much, much better than the buttons on the Apple Silicone Case, but I think this comes at the expense of the sides of the case. I'll try to explain. If I put my phone in the TORRAS top first and bottom last, the two bottom corners get indented (or squished) inwards. If I put my phone in the TORRAS bottom first and top last, then the two top corners get indented (or squished) inwards. Since the case fits snug, there's no way for me to get those indents out (I've tried sliding a toothpick side to side in there, but no luck).
For the longest time, I thought chunks of the case were missing until I realized the sides were just squished.

I guess the buttons on the Apple Silicone Case are harder to press because the actual material itself is more rigid and has better integrity to prevent things like this from happening. Maybe this is a testament to the R&D department at Apple. I guess they thought a slightly stiff button press is better than the sides of the case getting smooshed.

I hope this makes sense.

Again, I don't want people to think I only find the negative in cases. There's so many reviews (especially on YouTube) that only toot nothing but praise, so I want to let people know about the flip side of the coin. I'm trying to give an honest (and hopefully helpful) assessment on the various cases I use.

Anyone notice this new Evutec case that's just like the aramid shell such as the Pitaka Magcase but with covers for the buttons?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TNMLLPR/

Okay, I just got this in today. Pretty nice in hand. The coating Evutec uses on their aramid is more rubbery or tactile than the coating Pitaka uses. If you've used both brands you probably know what I'm talking about. I think what makes this nicer than the Pitaka is the usage of TPU to cover the buttons...and the 1/4 cost of the Pitaka helps too. Back to the buttons, the TPU here seems stronger/denser than their other cases such as the AER. It probably has to be to keep form with the aramid shell. With no open gaps for the power and volume buttons, the case feels better to hold than the Pitaka.

Currently rocking the X-Fiber case... it honestly feels as thin as a peel skin... zero signal reduction as well!

For anyone who procrastinated, the Evutec Aramid Fibre Karbon on Amazon now has a 35% coupon. Now I’m even more tempted.
Been using the Caudabe Sheath the past few months and am totally satisfied...but have always been tempted with the Evutec Karbon...

Currently rocking the Pitaka Magcase on my XS and love it but always worried about dropping it.

Looking at the Evutec and see I can get one for cheap on eBay. Just wanted to ask if it’s the right version as it doesn’t say AER. AER isn’t a newer version of right?

I have the XR so this is the version I see...

I tried checking the XS and XS Max and I see 35% discount too.. Not sure then if the discount is per account or for everyone. I assumed this is the same version I've seen at Target..

Whats the cheap listing on eBay you see? I don't see a much cheaper version.

Just got this Otter+Pop Disney version. Found it brand new on eBay for over 50% off. For the price $32 it was worth it. Really nice case, specifically since I’m heading to Disney world soon. :)

This might easily be the best Disney design OtterBox has made so far. They've all been pretty nice, but this case definitely wins the championship belt.

It’s a nice case. The buttons are far more pronounced than in the original symmetry. I’m not typically a pop socket guy, but it rests pretty flush, so it doesn’t impede at all.
Also, the case is navy with a red tpu

So i've bough a few cases recently...and figured id throw out a quick comparison and my 2 cents. I took advantage of the deal on the Evutec Aramid Fiber case for XS Max, it's very nice. However i'd compare the thickness of it to the Apple Silicone, maybe a touch slimmer? It has a nice soft touch feeling to it, not super grippy or anything, but having the buttons covered is an awesome feature for a pretty thin, stylish case like this. It's very lightweight and overall is one of my favorite cases out of the dozens i've purchased.

I also ordered the X-Fiber Aramid fiber case from Grfxp, pricier and a high-gloss finish rather than the matte, but I think this takes the cake! It's so damn thin, it really is as thin as a peel/totalee style case. Fitment is flawless, grip in my opinion is decent as it almost feels like a naked iphone, which if your hands are a bit tacky grips well for me. I think this is really what i've been waiting for, as it looks so damn sexy and feels like you are going caseless, that combined with it literally not weighing anything makes it (right now) my #1 case. I'll try to snag some pics of both soon!

Happy perfect-case hunting!

My cases. I have Otterbox, Speck, Pela, Nimble, Rhinoshield.

3 of the Speck cases I got a Sam’s Club on clearance which was nice.

I’m giving the Otterbox Pursuit a try this week. Picked one up at Verizon since I get a 25% discount and I have to say I’m pretty impressed. Bulky, but not overly so. And the orange/blue color is pretty sharp.

How are people liking the Evutec AER Karbon for the one's who pick it up recently?

I noticed on Ebay from "evutec_official" seller, the XR & XS versions are on auction for ~$20 ending today/tomorrow. The XS Max version is more expensive though since it looks like someone raised the bid price.

I’m thinking of getting one too. Does anybody know if there is only one version? I see an ad that doesn’t specify AER and one that does (more expensive).
look exactly the same though.

Edit: just purchased it for $25AUD/$17.5USD. Bargain basement price, couldn’t resist.

will see if I like it more than my beloved pitaka magcase. Only reason I bought it was due to the fear of dropping my XS on one of the uncovered sides.

Don’t like mine and already have it on eBay. It’s a fingerprint magnet and unbelievably hard to remove from the phone. Not for me.

Bought this case. Was only £2.99 but it’s as good as any clear case I’ve seen.

...does look good other than 3 flaws:

1. Clear cases like these are generally finger print magnets.
2. They turn yellow after a while.
3. Dust and lint inevitably gets trapped between the case and the back of the phone (enters mostly through the camera cut out when case is in your pocket).

But other than that, great...!

I just got the griffin survivor endurance. Only ordered it because amazon had it for $14 minus 40%, so roughly 8.50. Nice case and would be a go to for sure if the buttons were better. But 10 feet of drop protection fun a slim case is a plus.

Looking for a slim case for my xs max white. Tried many clear cases and in the end they all turn to yellow. Got a slim clear case with a glass back panel. The glass part didn’t turn to yellow but the sides did.
Any suggestions? Looking for the most anti-yellow clear case. It might be a white case also should be compatible with wireless charging.

I’ve tried one of those but back when I had an iPhone 7.

It was crap. Flimsy and overpriced price of plastic - you’d be better off running your phone naked.
Thanks for the review. I'm back in the Sheath right now, but I don't know why I can't be happy with it.
