I caved and wound up purchasing an Evutec. However, I bought the Northill series as I didn't like the branding on the back of the AER and how it's a fingerprint magnet. I'm hoping I like the top portion of the case better in person because the pictures I've seen kind of make it look cheap. I'm also hoping the buttons on the Northill are as good as people claim the AER's buttons are.
Haha oh man, you give in easily sir! Hope you enjoy it.

I’ve been switching between the pitaka and evutec AER for the last two weeks and the AER is growing on me, it’s amazing.

I want to use it more so I can get rid of the smooth chalky feeling. Does anybody know what I mean and how I might speed this process up for enhanced grip?

I have a Stealth Black Caudabe Synthesis for my Xs Max on the way. They just got them back in stock. I’m curious about this one. I’ll post a review with some pics when it arrives.

I know! I'm a sucker...
The Evutec case just kept nagging me, and I knew it wouldn't go away until I gave in and purchased the case. I'm hoping it's my last case, but at this point, I might as well type "I'm back using the Caudabe Sheath" and CTRL-C it and have it ready to go for my next post.

I received my Caudabe Synthesis Stealth Black a couple of days ago. I already have the classic black and carbon fiber Sheath cases from Caudabe. My daily driver has been the carbon. Here are my thoughts on the Synthesis.

The first thing I noticed is that the Synthesis has a pretty decent grip. After testing it out for a couple of days, I think the grip is just as good as the Sheath’s. Looking at the case you would think this case is slick, but it’s not. The texture of the case is not rough, but there is a slight texture to it that gives it grip. That’s the best way I can describe it. It also has a pattern design that runs on each side of the case that enhances the grip.

I judge grip when out on my daily walks. If I can easily remove the phone from my pocket and not feel like it’s going to drop out of my hand, that is a good grip to me. I prefer cases that will not stick in my pockets and have grip. The Synthesis passes both tests.

I was curious about the feel and texture of the case, so I emailed Caudabe. Caudabe told me they improved the texture and the scratch resistance of the case. I can’t comment on the improved scratch resistance, because no scratches yet. Unlike the Sheath, the cutouts are symmetrical. This isn’t a deal breaker to me, but I would prefer asymmetrical.

On the back of the case there are slight raised edges in the corners. I noticed some smudging does show up on the back of the case, but since the case is frosted they aren’t that noticeable. I noticed this on my walk yesterday, but interestingly they were gone this morning. Maybe more of a humidity thing going on here?

There’s a slight lip, like the Sheath. It’s nothing huge and something you’d expect with a minimalist case. The buttons are more responsive and have a better click than the Sheath’s. The Stealth Black color looks great.

I posted several pics. I’m liking this case thus far. Hope this helps!

Can you comment on the sheath and whether the fit is too loose? I’m rocking the evutec AER but want something even more slim and the sheath could be that.

My Evutec Northill arrived on Friday. I stopped using it by Saturday evening. It's not a bad case at all. In fact, a lot of people on here might really like it. The grip on the side is decent. The materials on the back feel great, especially the top half. The speaker cutout is asymmetrical. It's only slightly thicker and taller than the Sheath. The buttons are probably the best buttons I've felt on any case. The reason I won't be using it is because it's so stinkin' heavy! I'm pretty sure it's heavier than the Smart Battery Case. The weight might not be a deal breaker for some, but for me, it was too much for me to ignore. I've included some pictures next to the Caudabe Sheath.

For a thin case, the Sheath has a tight fit. I’ve run much tighter cases. If you’re looking for one that’s difficult to remove, this isn’t your case.

The Synthesis is a bit tighter to me. I’ve dropped the phone in the Sheath and it survived. I have a tighter fitting case in my desk draw and prefer the Sheath.

I've mentioned this before in an earlier post, but the Sheath has a tight fit. I've read and heard reviews of the case, complaining that the sides have some give, but I don't agree with that at all. Obviously it's not as tight as the Pitaka MagCase or the Spigen Neo Hybrid, but the Sheath definitely hugs the phone; it's not loose at all. In fact, because of the combination of the texture and the tight fit, it feels like a hard snap case but of course it's a soft case.

I stopped using my AER because the corners seem a bit loose. I’m afraid if it was dropped face down the phone would easily pop out, so I’m back to using the solid suit. Thicker than others, not as grippy as some, but overall the best fit and buttons of anything I’ve ever used.

Corners loose? This case fits super snugly so I’m really surprised to hear that.

I caved and purchased the sheath with a 20% discount code. Hopefully DHL can get this bad boy to me (Australia) ASAP:))))

The grip really is an underrated case imo. I used mine a lot while in Disney.
I finally picked up a grip for my XS Max for $10 on the Bay. Willing to give it a whirl at that price. Only thing that concerns me is ease of removing it from my pocket on walks. The Sheath and Synthesis are easy to remove.

Not going through all 200 pages but I assume some of you rock the uag case? Have it on my 8 plus and my wife’s not 8 and love then. Ordered one for my xs max as well

How does everyone like theirs?

Decided to go back to the Otterbox Traction case. I still think that being called Traction it should have better grip but none of my other cases excite me. All the white and blue Speck Presido grip cases I’ve bought have all had the same small defect.
