Which case will you be getting for your new XS/XS Max? [MERGED]

I praise the Nomad Rugged so much that I feel sorry if you don’t like it... When you end up buying one, I really hope you like it.
Note that I only have experience with the X version, which has been the only case I use for the past seven months (I never used the SolidSuit a lot since the fit loosened).
Well I got a very nice email from Nomads Customer Service apologizing for the lack of a photo showing it as a two piece case. They were real nice and I thought ok, why not, send it on and I’ll form my own opinion. If for no other reason good response customer service should be rewarded.
Putting a case in your cart and waiting a while should gives you a 10% discount. That worked a while back, so maybe it's worth a try...Not having much luck finding one that works.
Have you tried one before? The grip is pretty good...but...
I have bought and returned those on my last 3 phones. The side rubber feels really cheap and the drop protection is nearly zero.
I can't see it performing any better than an Apple case.... maybe better if it hit the cut out section.... maybe.

It has a ridge line pattern on the side if ya want pics let me know and I can take it off and do a photo shoot
This worked for me, I bought it the first week of October. Thomas, you are right, the Rugged is a nice case. I’ve only opened mine but it’s a keeper and is now tied for my favorite case with the solidsuit.
The buttons are nearly as good as the SS but the sides have much better grip. It’s both thinner, less wide and a little shorter than the SS. The only minor ding is that with a glass screen protector it has very little front lip, about what the caudabe sheath has. Overall the SS will still probably protect better but the nomad looks really good.
Imo it’s worth waiting for and worth the price.

I am REALLY happy to hear that. It’s partly my ‘fault’ that you guys are buying this case I think. So I was actually hoping you like it, because I don’t want to feel guilty...
But I don’t like you anymore, because you make me spend money.
I am going to wait for a Black Friday deal and pick one up for sure.
Luckily I cannot find the black nomad anywhere but their site, and without a discount I won’t order. Safe for now.
Yea I’ve done the same. I loved it on my 6s+. On my 7 and my X I found other cases I liked better. So maybe I’ll pass on it if it’s the same story with no improvements, as I found the back of it to be a little slick.
I dunno if the back of the Caudabe Synthesis has good texture or not. I might do the UAG again. Sigh.
Why is it hard to find a minimalistic-ish case with decent drop protection and good grip?
Yes, inside is nice soft microfiber. It isn’t as solid feeling as the solidsuit imo, I think the thinning for this new version made it a little less solid but it’s still pretty good.
Overall IMO if you’re most concerned with fit and buttons and protection get the SS, if you are more concerned with grip and looks get the nomad. I’ll be keeping both and I think I can now say I’m done buying cases. (I did end up paying for the thanotech k11 but that hasn’t shipped yet)
This makes me think I should just stick to my ‘old’ Nomad Rugged... Mine is quite thick, but extremely solid (more than the SolidSuit). Why is buying cases so hard?
EDIT: What do you mean with less solid by the way? Can you pull the sides away from the phone easier than on the SolidSuit?
No love here for the Presidio Grip? That's what I currently have on my phone. Yes, it turns the Max into an even bigger brick, but the grip is phenomenal and it feels great to hold. Plus, it feels like the phone is really secure and protected in this case.
I am waiting on a replacement Caudabe Sheath which I should get tomorrow or Saturday. I don't think I'll be buying anymore cases (famous last words).
