After going through the pages, I have make my own top 5 cases. But don’t know which one to buy.
  1. Rhinoshield Solid Suit Leather or Microviber
  2. Rhinoshield Mod NX
  3. Otterbox Symmetry (or Statement, I think these are the same?)
  4. Caudabe Sheath
  5. Spigen iPhone XR Case Liquid Air

I prefer that my phone does not get too bulky. That the case protect the back of my iPhone and for falls around 1,5 meter. But also rises a little above the screen for protection.
I hate the plastic cases. It looks cheap and in addition, most of them cause sweaty hands.

For the last 2 years I have protected my iPhone 7+ with a Snugg case
I really loved that case except the back was soon filled with scratches and get’s full with fingerprints. After a few months I didn’t get the back clean properly. But it did a good job and protected my iPhone against a number of falls.

If you hate plastic cases then we may need to revise that top 5 list of yours. They are all mainly plastic. The solid suit with leather back has a plastic top and bottom and sides. What about the Apple leather case?

I would really think about adding the Nomad Rugged to your list, it's less plastic than any of the ones you listed and checks off everything you want. The solidsuit is also a great case but as stated it's perimeter is plastic.

Heard horrible stories about mous case by XS users. Apparently the camera cut out does not align properly and their customer service is poor.

My wife didn’t have any complaints about the case with her XS, but after a week she switched to a $1 Caseology case cuz she liked the color better . She switches back & forth.

I would assume that the XS Max case would be aligned properly cuz it’s a new form factor. I don’t know how the Limitless or the new one would scale up to the Max size without being bulky.

I mean that soft plastic. Don't know how to describe it the right way.
Oh and btw it's for an iPhone Xr. But most manufacturers also have an XR version of their cases in addition to the XS.

A warning about Mous, if you do buy and decide to return good luck. There's an entire thread about their horrible customer service plus if/when you do get a refund you'll lose about $10 on the deal because they'll charge you a restock fee plus you pay for your own shipping.

Ugh. As indecisive as I am I probably won’t take that chance. Sigh.

I think I had that same issue with the transition from the bottom to the back. I sent them pictures and they sent me a new case no questions asked.

How’s the grip compared to the Silk?

Thanks for sharing that experience. Did you reach out to them via email? Phone call?

Grip is excellent overall and grip on sides are comparable to Silk and since back is same texture as sides, the Sheath is even grippier. I think I like the smoother back of the Silk but I hate the rough seam and transition on the Silk so I’m hoping the Sheath I have is just a lemon. I want the transitions to be smooth as if it’s a continuous case.

I’ve since noticed upon closer inspection that the seam I have continuously up a portion of one side. Definitely seems like a quality control issue.

Have about 15 different cases and I think the Otterbox Symmetry is in my first or second position as the best iPhone Max case so far. The only negative is the buttons are flush but they work just perfect. This is a hard case to beat.

Keep switching cases but always find myself back in the Symmetry. o_O

I see on the pic. Just picked up and checked the same area on mine. It's a smooth transition. Caudabe will do ya right. Their customer service is excellent.

Glad to hear your endorsement of their customer service and that mine seems like and anomaly. Let’s hope they respond quickly.

No, mine has the lip/edge. Caudabe has sent another my way.

I asked earlier and it was probably overlooked. Does the XT Veil have a lip to protect the screen?

were they pretty quick in responding to you? what color did you buy? (wondering if the defect is prevalent with a certain color) if i look at the pictures on their facebook page, the violet one in the picture certainly has a smooth transition between the back and bottom.

hope they can make things right for you and me. (must be a bad production run?)

i'm still wondering about the Synthesis, as it may offer a little more protection with a little more bulk. does anyone have the Stealth Black model? how dark is the back? (i ask because i, for the first time ever, bought the white/silver iPhone. i think it would be nice to have a darkened back that was translucent)

I emailed them and they emailed me back within a day saying they sent out another one. I received it in a few days. They let me keep the old one as well.

That Synthesis is still out of stock, at least for the Max. Although on Twitter they responded to my tweet saying that the Sheath had better grip since the whole case has that texture instead of just the sides.

thanks for sharing this... i hope i have a similar experience. i trust your new one is fine. ;)

yeah, they are in stock for the regular XS. for me, grip on the sides is what is important, so i might want to check the Synthesis out. i don't like the way the gray model looks with the white back, so i'd want to hear from them or someone here about how dark the back is on "stealth gray". i'm assuming it's pretty dark given how it masks the apple on the photo on their website, but i want to be sure.

from what i saw on Facebook, they hit a quality control issue in the XS Max Synthesis production, so that is why there is a delay.
