You guys are into slightly thicker (thiccer?) cases than I prefer. But I also have apple care. I’ve used skins from SW and DBrand but that’s too dangerous when I go out drinking.

I’m currently using a pitaka mag (non pro) but sending back for an awful blem it has and it’s a fingerprint magnet. Lol

I currently have a Totallee and Tozo sitting at my house right now. I’m going to try over the next few days.

Anyone else prefer much slimmer cases? My max thickness preference is apple leather so far.

No love here for the Presidio Grip? That's what I currently have on my phone. Yes, it turns the Max into an even bigger brick, but the grip is phenomenal and it feels great to hold. Plus, it feels like the phone is really secure and protected in this case.

I am waiting on a replacement Caudabe Sheath which I should get tomorrow or Saturday. I don't think I'll be buying anymore cases (famous last words).
I have the grip as well. I like it quite a bit. Just a pocket pain :)

Blacked out. I’d like the carbon fiber if the letters weren’t so loud. I remember one case I had by them I removed those letters... haha.
I did the same. My only issue is the tpu they use seems to be very soft.

OK, so cases with the bottom grill cut outs that match last years iPhone X are nothing more than cases that were "Rushed Out" to market.

Manufactures like Otterbox, UAG, Pitaka ETC at least had the correct specifications before pumping out the cases in China.

Maybe this does not bother most but it plays with my OCD pretty bad.

What U think?

It definitely is something I notice. Unfortunately, few cases match the appropriate specifications.

Meh for once something that doesn’t bother me. Still using my solid suit by the way. Longest case I’ve used for the Max.

Thanks a lot. Now I went and tried on my Apple silicone case. It’s a lot lighter and thinner than the solid suit. Buttons are so much stiffer and it sticks to pockets. I might pick up an Apple leather tomorrow since it solves both of these issues. Just gotta stay away from water. Or maybe I won’t worry about water and see if it gets ruined or not.

Edit: back to the solid suit. :)

The black apple leather is my go to when I need protection. Thinnish, feels great in the hand. Haven’t drop tested but have dropped and it’s fared well. In that I mean it took the damage rather than the phone.

I just don’t like the open bottom so much. But tolerable.

my Caudabe Sheath Arrived today. impressed and also a little disappointed...

Pros:
- thinner profile than i even expected (coming from Silk Base Grip)
- no gap around camera cut out
- great texture and grip
- buttons: while not as good as the apple cases, they are decent enough (B+ grade)

Cons/Surprises:
- i had thought that since this was an XS model, the cutouts on the bottom would be asymmetric
- the bottom edge is looser than i was expecting. do i have a defective one? it reminds me of the Tech21 (although not as extreme in looseness)
- for the wonderfully smooth transitions between the back and the sides and top, mine has a distinct edge (sharp) transition between the bottom and back. is this normal? couldn't they have made it smooth between the bottom and back?

Unsure:
- i didn't realize that they achieved the thinness (more than i was expecting) by a slightly elevated ring around the lens of the back camera. it's probably fine, but not quite what i was expecting...
- like everyone here has said, hard to say if the 2meter drop rating is accurate or not. it seems as protective as the Silk Base Grip except for a shallower lip on the front. (still has one though even with my 0.33mm Maxboost Glass protector)

not sure what i'm going to do. lots to like, but wondering about the bottom part of the case and whether i should have gone with the Synthesis (which is now in stock for the XS... i actually asked Caudabe about measurement differences on Facebook but haven't gotten a response after 24 hours even though they said that was the fastest way to contact them...)

I’m using the Speck Gemshell and I like it. It’s actually quite stiffer than the Otterbox I was using on my 7+. I probably will go back to an Otterbox next.

Maybe you got a bad one. My bottom edge is not loose at all not could I find any edge sharpness on the entire case.

Thanks for the feedback. I sent an email to Caudabe. Hope they respond promptly. Here’s a pic. There is a noticeable seam between the back and bottom of the case.

I think I had that same issue with the transition from the bottom to the back. I sent them pictures and they sent me a new case no questions asked.

How’s the grip compared to the Silk?

I see on the pic. Just picked up and checked the same area on mine. It's a smooth transition. Caudabe will do ya right. Their customer service is excellent.

Any Mous Limitless love in here? I got that for my wife and she likes it. I like it too but wondered if it would be too bulky on the Max. I especially like that it has the magnets in the case also. And it’s $10 cheaper than the UAG Monarch.

Heard horrible stories about mous case by XS users. Apparently the camera cut out does not align properly and their customer service is poor.

And this is why:

“The iPhone X's camera unit measures 24.13 millimeters in length and 11.26 millimeters in width. According to the report's measurements, while the width for the iPhone XS's camera bump is marginally bigger at 11.27 millimeters, the length is 25.50 millimeters, making it 1.37 millimeters longer than that of the iPhone X.”

After going through the pages, I have make my own top 5 cases. But don’t know which one to buy.
  1. Rhinoshield Solid Suit Leather or Microviber
  2. Rhinoshield Mod NX
  3. Otterbox Symmetry (or Statement, I think these are the same?)
  4. Caudabe Sheath
  5. Spigen iPhone XR Case Liquid Air

I prefer that my phone does not get too bulky. That the case protect the back of my iPhone and for falls around 1,5 meter. But also rises a little above the screen for protection.
I hate the soft plastic clear cases. It looks cheap and in addition, most of them cause sweaty hands.

For the last 2 years I have protected my iPhone 7+ with a Snugg case
I really loved that case except the back was soon filled with scratches and get’s full with fingerprints. After a few months I didn’t get the back clean properly. But it did a good job and protected my iPhone against a number of falls.
