Weird. Mobilereviews-eh says the carbon fiber SS had best grip of all.

Yeah I watched that too. He said the carbon had a bit of texture to it. I haven’t tried them both so I’m just going off of our fellow thread member. Also Kristen from the tech reviewer said the classic had the most grip too. It’s because it’s soft touch and the other finishes are not.

Edit: see below. Forgot about technically tee.

I didn’t find the normal method too hard to get the solid suit off but....the alternative method that they show at the end of the video is even easier for me. I’ll be using that from now on. Actually I find it MUCH easier than the other method.

Took the black Symmetry back to Best Buy. This case was way too tight to get on the rubber bulged out by the volume and power buttons and it just plain sucked. The red one I have is perfect with none of these problems.

All Symmetry cases are not created equal. o_O

I do. I heard the lip at the top and bottom can be too large for people. If you’re not using a glass screen protector, I can totally see this being an issue. Using glass, it’s more than perfect for me.

I noticed the lip on my wife’s phone but it wasn’t a huge deal. Although when I tried the Speck on my Max the bottom lip bothered me among other things so the big lip in this one would probably be a hinderance also.

Ugh. The struggle is real. Lol.

Ok now I’m thinking if I’m not fond of tomorrow’s Ditztronic I’m gonna hold out for the K11 bumper and see how that is. I liked it on my X before I switched to the Sheath. So we’ll see.

Anyone have some measurements or rough comments on the relative level of lip protection for the following cases?

- Caudabe Sheath
- Otterbox Symmetry
- Solid Suit Classic

i found in going from a 0.25mm Maxboost protector to a 0.33mm 2.5D iCarez protector that my lip is noticeably shallower than it was before with the Caudabe Sheath. i realized the lip is probably just under 0.25mm as i can lay my old screen protector with the thin plastic sheeting and it's every so slightly higher than the lip of the Sheath case with the iCarez.

i really am starting to grow fond of the Sheath and think the corners and back are protective enough but i'm a little concerned about protection in the event of a face plant. would a thinner glass protector actually be better than the thicker one with less "lip"?

i'm probably overthinking it. i love the look and feel of the fully covered screen (although not truly 3D)...swiping is very smooth too with the minimal lip. (i've always had cases with a modest lip -- Belkin Sheer Grip, Luvvitt Cases, some generic ones too...not super rugged cases but not minimalist either)

I've been using the leather case from Totallee since yesterday afternoon. When I ordered it, they only had black, but I see now that they have brown and tan. I'm not sure what I think of it. One review mentioned the leather felt rubbery, which I agree with. I think the Apple leather feels better, but when I asked family, friends, and coworkers to compare, they all unanimously agreed that the leather on the Totallee case felt much, much better and more premium (the leather on the Totallee definitely smells better, though). One knock on the case is that it's so thin, the buttons are flush to the case, so they're kind of hard to find without glancing at my phone. I might go back to the Pitaka MagCase, which is still my favorite case. However, I like that the Totallee case protects all sides of the phone. I wish the Apple leather case was thinner. I might have to check out a leather snap case.
