Now that I've been using my iPhone 12 Pro for a day, the build and precision of this phone is something else! Really really too notch!!
I'm a little worried the 12 Mini will have more of a toy feel
Really wish they've come up with a 12 Mini Pro version with the 3 back Cameras

The mini won't feel like a toy at all, I went from iPhone 11 Pro back to the original SE and it did feel like a miniature phone at first, but never did it feel like a toy. The size and weight is just second to none. Now, I can't wait for the 12 mini, it's gonna be the phone of all phones imo.

And hopefully it will sell loads, so that Apple would release a 13 Pro mini next year.

I don't like being glued to my phone all day long, and don't consume endless 'media' (that's what the Ipad is for).
Therefore the original SE has always been the perfect option - light, amazing battery life, easy one-handed use, and does pretty much everything the others do.

Nevertheless the new Mini looks like a great replacement for people like me.
But Only if it still has a solid battery life, doesn't feel heavy in the pocket or have any other weird problems.
Also noticeable PWM will be an instant deal-breaker.
Let's see what the early adopters make of it.

Pre ordered the 12pro and coming from a XS, it’s a good upgrade. Pics are awesome and I even get 5g in certain spots with T-Mobile in my area. One thing I will have to try and adjust to though, is the size. I’m happy that it doesn’t feel heavy in the hand but I always thought 5.8 was the sweet spot for me and the slight increase in size feels... less comfortable. I would much rather have a Pro model, but I have a feeling the mini would be THEE perfect device as far as the feel in hand when the squared edges.

As many others have stated, I will need to see what battery life is looking like before I could really see myself giving up the Pro for the mini. It’s so annoying that Apple made the small Pro bigger and decided the mini didn’t need to be a Pro. Puts those of us who prefer smaller devices in a bit of a conundrum. 🙄

Weight comparison chart:

iPhone SE(og) - 113 grams
iPhone 6 - 129 grams
iPhone 12 mini - 133 grams
iPhone 12 - 162 grams
iPhone 12 Pro - 187 grams
iPhone 12 Pro Max - 226 grams

With the mini weighing almost the same as the iPhone 6, it's gonna be a winner and I'm sure the battery life will be decent as well.

So, I went to look at cases in store and Target had a Mini case sitting out. To be completely honest, it doesn’t look THAT much smaller than the 12/12 Pro.

The case might not be, but the phone that will fit in it definitely will.
I have the Mini case and compared to the 11 Pro and 12 Pro cases, it's so much more comfortable in the hand.

Oh yes, is smaller and is going to feel.

The iphone has grown in size and weight every year, so every mm and gram counts. I have a case for the mini and for the 12 and I can tell the difference is going to be huge.

Definitely a great point. Cases may not look bulky, but then you put them on and the size feels quite different.

Weight is definitely a huge factor as far as in-hand feel. Another great point.

Yea. Second concern is battery life. The 8 battery life sucks.

Plus I don’t even know of the mini will work since it’s smaller form factor but larger screen than the 8. Don’t know if I’ll preorder the mini will want to handle it.

Perhaps you've seen this post already, but this could give you an idea of how the mini would look in hand:

I believe the new mini is 2100 (and change). The new SE battery is 1800 (and change).

Thanks for the link.
This is how it fits inside my current iPhone XS, looks pretty perfect to me. Can't wait...

Question. Prior to the 12 mini’s screen resolution being added to iOS, the iPhone X did not support Display Zoom, but now it does. I don’t fully understand how Display Zoom works, but is it reasonable to assume that the zoomed display on the X is representative of what will be viewable on the Mini?

The Mini uses the same resolution as the 11 Pro 5.8”, only shrunken down to fit the smaller display size. It’s been confirmed by developers that the Mini will support display zoom, so with display zoom on for the Mini, content will be roughly the same size as standard zoom on the 5.8” displays.

Oh wow, that sounds even better than I was hoping. It sounds like Display Zoom will be there incase that shrunken resolution from the 5.8” is too tiny for some people to use. Thanks!

Yeah, my wife and I did simulations of it and it’s definitely great for those who won’t like the way the Mini scales content down out of the box.

Well I got my 12 Pro yesterday and coming from an 11 Pro I am not really feeling the worth of the upgrade and hate that it's slightly bigger. Used it for a day and put it in the box and sending it back.

Going for the 12 Mini. Been longing for a smaller one-handed phone since the iPhone 5 days but the SE's were too gimped from the Pro models. Can't wait to pre-order.

I got a 12, and coming from a 7, I am finding the larger size a little challenging to adapt to. I was hoping the size reduction from the 11 would be enough but I’m not sure. Part of it is the physical size, and part is that everything in iOS is also scaled up. I might get used to it, but I am seriously considering exchanging for a 12 mini. We’ll see, only 24hrs in at this point.

eh, i put mini and 12 cases same brand next to each other in store yesterday, big difference.

Some app's don't like zoomed though, turns them into a 8/SE size app, had to turn it off on my 11 pro.
