Thinking about it. Better than I expected and size is very appealing to me. Will have to decide on color, though. Blue or Black.

Odd question - would using my MacBook Pro charger be a problem with the bundled USB-C to lightning cable? I'm assuming the phone would just throttle the power it takes from the charger due to its higher wattage?

No, not a problem. The Phone will just take as much power as it can. Has always worked so far.

My 2016 SE is still the smallest and lightest, so I'm not quite ready to rush out and get one. I also don't like Face ID. But if I were forced to buy a phone because my current phone breaks, then I'd get the 12 Mini over the 2019 SE.
iPhone 12 mini is right in the middle between SE 1 & 2.

The Mini looks amazing. I’m 90 % sure this is the one I’ll go for.

The only thing holding me back, is the new dimensions of the regular 12. It’s nearly, nearly the same size as my iPhone X and even weighs less. It’s more than 30g lighter than the 11...

So it’s 12 Mini vs 12 for me, in black or blue.

Ahh I thought the same! I sold the 11pro and get the SE 2020 because of size and weight (primary for weight); but I remember liking the screen size of the 11P.

And the 6,1 12 is lighter... it's tempting

I’m excited, but after looking at the specs I am a bit concerned with the resolution being so high. Is it going to make some of the text too small for me. I did just turn 50 ;j

This is my next iPhone, iPhone 12 Mini 256GB Blue

Very tempted to. Might hold onto my X for a little bit longer. But this is the first update since the X that has temped me.

You can adjust the text size! I am near sighted and can still see extra, extra fine text that is beyond the optimists near sighted eye chart.

Having upgraded to the SE 2020 back in April i am curious by the 12 mini. If i was to buy a new iPhone i'd go for the mini just because its small and similar to my current model. Annoying that Apple trade in doesn't include the SE 2020 so i can see if its a justified buy or not

I'm wondering whether there will be any hands-on videos available prior to pre-order. I'd like to make a full decision prior to November 6th. I would hope that Apple would get some of the early manufactured units to media outlets.

Hands on videos are useless (except checking product colors). Just to make a hype and got more views. I always wait for professional tests/reviews at Notebookcheck.de/net and AnandTech.

You can adjust the display Text but not all the in widgets/icons etc with out changing to completely to zoomed mode.

Actually one of the smallest (or the lightest) iPhone was iPhone 5 from 2012 and iPhone 5S from 2013 with weighs 3.95 oz (112 g). I miss those times where phones were handy. Don’t get my wrong, I have big hands but I don’t want to carry bricks in my pockets.

I'm not arsed about them using it, I'm just wanting to see the size of the phones in different people's hands. I'm reluctant to go to a store because of Covid, so this is my best alternative.

Mini is cute, just not for me at this point. I’m way too comfortable with the largest screens since the 6 Plus. I’m getting the candy bar style that I missed out on with a larger screen and its BLUE! This is a dream come true!

Do you use the zoom function, because I'm not sure how having a bigger screen would benefit eye site unless you're using accessibility to increase the size because otherwise on-screen elements are the same size you can just fit more on bigger screens.
Hello, yes - I use zoom on my XR.

I understand that the screen will be pretty similar in size to the 8 Plus and that seemed fine.

I'm actually pretty excited about a fully featured smaller iPhone again.

If I don't get 'PWM pain' with the screen, this is something that I'd think seriously about getting early next year (or the next version of it in 2022, as whilst it's bulky, my XR is holding up fine).

I doubt it. Usually apple only releasesit to press the week after preorders.

I can see macruours folk running down iP12 mini supplies in no time, it's going to be some Christmas! :D

The comparison graph photo of iP12m V's ip6s/7/8/Se body, was the most compelling (and Apple knew that, they're speaking to you hangers on) which means moving to a 6.1 won't be much of a deal either, I'd like ot see a photo comparison to that device too and the iP12m.

The mini is a freat entry on price if you want new model and more storage outside the US (were prices are often much higher).

The way I see it if you're on an old device like many (iP6s speaking here)

ip6s > SE is a great upgrade overall on price.

This strategy may be the one, if you were waiting for 120hz iP12 models, but really need to see a spec and speed bump after 5 years on say an iP6s, this I am weighing up.

If you want new, the iPhone12 mini is great entry to max out, because I know i'd like more than 128Gb storage at this point and it's reasonable price in comparison to the pro's outside the US $ pricing and you're still getting more screen than an iP6s but a bit smaller to carry, with incredible performance and cameras etc. etc.

For once in a long time, I think the choice of upgrade or entry into the Apple ecosystem via the iPhone has never been better in terms of choice and budget considerations - on that point I look forward to the iP12s mini! 🤣

I do think if you're looking at 6.1 then why not look at the pro if price is not the primary deciding option.

What I'm not totally clear on yet, are the cameras in the 12 Pro Max, better than the pro or is one camera/lens unique to the 12 Pro Max model or are both pros identical in camera rig?

I held on to my original SE for about 3y before I caved an bought the Xs on sale.

The Xs is def a better phone and I don’t miss the (in comparison) washed out LCD of the SE. But the Xs is a brick and close to impossible to use one handed.

10 months in and I still feel like I’m going to drop it every time I hold it with one hand.. (12 Pro is even bigger and heavier = Not an option).

At almost 2x the cost of my original SE the mini is far from a bargain, but it’s also not made from stuff they found in an old parts bin either.

My Xs will be replaced for sure. Will miss 3D Touch, what an amazing feature for text editing!
