Got a notice from FedEx that my black mini 128 GB was going to be delayed until Monday, but I was able to pick it up from the distribution center. Just applied the screen protector and put it in the apple leather case. Data transferring from iPhone 7 now. I think I’m going to love it. The size is basically perfect, and the flat sides are so much nicer to hold than the soap-bar design of the 6/7/8 series.

Coming from X.

I feel like isn’t so much smaller than the X, but the weight is noticeable. What impressed me most is this new design. My X was actually my first iPhone so I never used these old squared iPhones. I think this new design suits best the mini. I got the black and it so sleek, I love it. It is also very snappy and it doesn’t get warm at all like the X. I also have this yellowish screen, but it is noticeable only on high brightness and when you compare it directly to an old iPhone. I think it would get better in couple days.

My Mini, Black, arrived today... right beside the Max. The Mini will replace my daily carry the original SE. It does not look like Apple will ever make a real SE again. The original now in my area has some frequency limitations with my Carrier or they just don't like it anymore so having signal issues. Looking forward to having a decent camera on my daily carry. The original SE can still help with GPS tracking applications, and music player.

The 12 Pro Max will work beside my 11 Pro Max for photos mainly. I have to keep the 11 Pro Max as I have some accessories that only work with it, and don't feel like upgrading them even if they were available right now.

Looking forward to 2022 travels.

I honestly haven’t been as excited by an iPhone since the 5S. The mini is absolutely perfect. I’ve been using a Pixel 5 for a few weeks and I’m so glad to be back on iOS.

Well long story short I ended up swapping my 12 after 10 days and got the Mini in Blue 128 gb. I’m coming from an 8 originally so the Mini just feels more natural size wise to me. The 12 is a great phone but I wanted something smaller for my pocket. Paired with my iPad Mini I think I made the right choice.

Yay, I'm in love with my iPhone again!

I could have waited another year, but I felt like it was my civic duty (just like with Apple Watch series 0, HomePod, AirPods, AirPods Pro) to cast my vote (purchase) for more cool stuff like this and let Tim & Co know to keep it coming.

Smaller iPhones with the latest features and internals of the big iPhones are AWESOME! Ring it from the rooftops!

Yep.
The state of the art technology used to be judged by how small it is.
If they can keep it at 5.4" screen size and make all the internal parts 50% of what they are today, then they can fill the rest of the space with that much more battery and the phone will last a whole day even for heavy users.

What will happen instead though is that they will put even more technology in. ;)

I think more than shrinking the internals, they could just add a mm or so to the thickness for increased capacity.

It’s amazing how accustomed we’ve gotten to big phones. It’s nice to have a smaller premium phone again. The 12 mini is just slightly larger than the 5S but with a much larger screen. This one is a keeper.

I've had my mini for a few hours now. I've been an original-SE fan and agitator for quite a while, and for the last year I've been using a XS.

The thing that has stood out the most for me so far is of course the size. First, it's not a jarring or surprising change at all. Instead it feel like the mini is the size that a "normal" phone should be, and the XS has suddenly started feeling like a phone that is too big to be comfortable but not big enough (in terms of immersive viewing) to justify the discomfort.

I think this is certainly the smallest "flagship" phone Apple is going to make for a long time due to the need to be consistent for sizing MagSafe accessories. That's a little bit disappointing since I could certainly still use something smaller (iPhone nano?), but using this size is a nice satisfying improvement.

I was concerned from a previous thread that a strange scaling ratio might result in a loss of sharpness in the display. Now that I can check it out directly, I don't perceive any lack of sharpness; whether this is due to a mistake in the scaling factor posts or just the very high pixel density, ultimately it's a non issue. I feel like I can tell a slight improvement in the sharpness and vividness of the image vs the XS, so it does feel like a legitimate upgrade.

Hoping this size is popular enough for Apple to keep it going; would love to update to a "Pro mini" in the next couple years!
