They all have PWM. It’s probably more to do with the fact the text is smaller making your eyes strain more.
Yeah- above 50% brightness the flicker is very similar on the mini and 12pro. But below 50%, mini is definitely worse.

For those not reading the other thread here are my first impressions:
So first REAL stress test here. I travel for work and today had a 12h day on the road, through areas with low to bad signal, but also cities with LTE (no 5G contract atm). I did a call a few times and did some surfing and listening to offline music via BT. The usual stuff I also did with my iPhone 11 6.1 before.
At the end of the day I have about 40% battery left, when my iPhone 11 had around 50-60% battery left with similar usage. That is more than I expected. I had signal on all the time and battery life really suffers from traveling through low signal areas instead of staying at home in the city with always good LTE signal. I am very happy. I expected around 20-25% left at the end of the day but it is around 40%. 10-20% less than the iPhone 11. And the battery is new and still needs some time for it's whole potential. Really, really nice atm.
Reception is much better than my iPhone 11 when it comes to holding a signal and using internet in low signal areas. The signal was most of the time displayed similar to my iPhone 11. But I never had much of those no service zones ever with my iPhone 11 thank god so no big change here. But when my 11 couldn't connect to the internet with 2G or 3G reception, my 12 Mini could. I had 4 bars 2G Edge and could load light webpages. The 11 didn't do that or it took way longer to load. Nice!
Call quality is ok, nothing special, but good enough. Had trouble with one call dropped after going from LTE to 3g, but otherwise good but normal call quality.
The device itself on the road is really, really nice. Typing with one hand without a problem, not needing to balance the phone just right to get to the top and not let it slip out of the hand... Very nice. I just have to get used to the small display mode. The larger one is just too large for normal usage. The standard display mode a little too small.
First impressions are very good. Now if they could only do a SW update that fixes those issues with black pixels not turning off. Then it would be amazing.
PS: Did use the phone caseless for 2 days, just feels so much nicer, thinner, narrower, lighter. Perfect!
Black but I put it in a leather portfolio case so color really doesn't matter much. What colours did everyone get? I’ve ordered black and blue. Cannot decide...
ATM I am planning to switch between the 2 modes with either small or bigger text size and wait what will fit my needs best. I don't have a lot of apps installed, mostly web when I don't need apps for widgets or notifications. And in Safari you can change the size. But that is really one thing I have no idea about atm. I mean standard mode is really cool, you can see so much stuff with it, I guess similar to the normal 6.1 inch. But it really is small, and unfortunately Zoom mode is the exact opposite, so big you have to be 80-90% blind not to see it. No offense, it maybe be perfect for some. I guess I will stick with normal mode and use the text size settings in apps and safari. But I am not 100% sure atm.How are you planning to cope with the small display mode? That's the part that is putting me off, it's really small specially when scrolling
Going ceaseless with mine, but I did install a protective front glass (even though I have AC+).Anyone else thinking of running their mini caseless? It’s so nice in the hand I’m wary to put a case on it, especially since I did get AC+.

On a separate note, ordered the phone from Amazon. Delivery box came with a massive dent in the side, appears to have been crushed or something. No damage to the phone box. However, the phone was very cold and had some moisture on it. All seems to be working fine though- would this be something of concern?
The Poppy leather is nice but, the Kumquat Silicone feels even better in hand.I adore the way the Mini feels caseless. It’s very grippable and such, but I love Apple’s leather case and how it makes the back sit flush on a table/desk.

What made you decide on the black over the blue in the end?
I’m still trying to decide between them.
Swipe issue seems to happen mostly when both a screen protector and a case are both added to the phone.
Usually if you just have one without the other, it seems to work OK. Hopefully it is just a software glitch. But I am holding off for the time being until a fix can be determined.
Could you accept that there might be an easy software fix? Not saying there will be, but it's too early to say how big this problem will turn out to be.Yes I know, but on a 850€ phone I can´t accept that, or the use of a tape to make contact... absurd.

I chose the blue and have it but sometimes I think about the green. But then I think it's too light, like a greenish white.
