What made you decide on the black over the blue in the end?

I’m still trying to decide between them.

Just felt the blue looked a little too deep/purplish (to me, and that’s personal as I do have a colour deficiency!). Others may not feel the same way.

I also loved the iPhone 4, my favourite iPhone, and the black just looks so similar to that (albeit updated!).

Black looks really good in your picture. Wow it’s the first time now that I’m having second thoughts about my white one. 😂

Spoke with both Apple and UPS today and still no update on where my iPhone 12 Mini is located. UPS is supposed to call me back again this morning after speaking with the driver who is the same as was on our route Friday Nov 13th. Very frustrating as I need to get my 12 Pro back to Apple and do not want to be without an iPhone.

I was trying to decide between blue and black also. White was originally in the running too, but I think it looks a little too off-white, almost a cream color, compared to previous generation.

I ended up going with black because I thought in the end it had a better chance of looking ok no matter what kind of case I put on it.

Now that I’ve received it, I think the black looks awesome — I like it even better than I expected to. The color-matched sides really looks great, and it makes me sad to cover it up with a case.

12 Mini finally arrived today. First impressions are that it really is a great size. I do not miss the additional screen real estate coming down from my X (appreciate it isn’t a huge drop), but the phone itself isn’t much bigger than the original SE.

Having had reservations about typing, the smaller screen is not a problem at all. For everything i use the phone for, this size is so much better. I hope Apple continue to keep a ‘mini’ size with the same spec through the upgrade lifecycle. Only thing yet to be confirmed is how the battery performs compared to the X. Hopefully it will also be fine.

There are two of my all-time favorite phones on this picture, the left one and the right one. I guess it’s logical to think, that the One in the middle will join the all-time favorites gang!

I don’t disagree, but using the SE now (as opposed to when it was new and I knew no different) is an awful experience compared the screens on the X and 12 mini. It’s far too small IMO.

Hopefully, in another 8 years time, we will say something similar about iPhone 12 mini display (or at least battery life).

Much as I wanted to love my Green Mini and make it my primary phone I got a 12 Pro Max today instead. I had a 11 Pro Max before. The Mini will become my backup / secondary phone which is great because it’s light in the pocket and excellent at the other non-multimedia tasks I need it for!

If you can see one in person, it’s worth it. I’m really pleased with my colour choice. Blue is my favourite colour, and I got my fix by putting a blue case on (love the blue/black contrast).

Overall, super impressed with my mini. I had an 11 Pro Max before this and the large size was a bother after the X. When I got my 12 Pro a few weeks ago, it didn’t feel too dismilar to the 11 Pro Max either. The mini got me much more excited when I held it- feels very fresh and new, yet somehow familiar. Perfect phone for me as I use my iPad for most other iOS tasks really.

Apologies, a little bit of digression there!!

Funny, I did the exact same thing as you in reverse.

I couldn’t decide between the blue and the black since I like them both a lot. I was slightly leaning towards black because it’s a more timeless and sleek color, but then when I put it in the black leather case, the black + black was a little too bland.

So I tried putting the blue in the black case and I think it looks great. The case is subtle and not too showy, which is why I decided against the blue + Saddle Brown (my original choice), and throwing the blue in there gives me the blue camera square popping out.

It’s the best of both worlds. I get the sleek, subtle black device most of the time (ie. the case), I get some blue color so that it doesn’t get boring, and on the odd occasion that I take the phone out of the case, I can appreciate the blue, without having to live with a blue phone every day.

I think blue + black is a perfect combination, and I can see why you did the same thing in reverse.

Viewing a lot of websites and a lot of apps on the SE is not a pleasant experience. However, if one only uses the SE strictly for calls, texts, and some apps, it is ok.

Coming from an iPhone 7, I desperately wanted a new phone. I preordered the 12 pro. Too big. I preordered the 12 mini. Too slim for me and surprisingly not as comfortable to hold as my iPhone 7. I could settle on the iPhone 7, but it's starting to act just a little too slow for me. Fortunately, there are a lot of good deals on used 11 Pros, right now, so I settled on that. Still... the perfect phone doesn't exist, but the 11 pro is as close as they come. If only apple would make an 11 pro with touch ID...

I think I'm in the same boat as you with the 12 pro being too big and the mini being too small. Where did you end up finding a deal on the 11 pro? Did you just get a used one or did you find a deal on a new one?

so I caved after I vehemently said I wouldn't upgrade from my 8+. I used to also have an iPhone X.

faceid is definitely faster and improved. more than I expected, but I still do not think its the most efficient way to unlock your phone.

just spent ~2hr on FaceTime and lost about ~15% battery life.

yes its small
yes, if you have trouble reading small text or have big hands you should get the regular iphone

unless the iPhone is your livelihood there is no reason to get the pro or max. those phones only add fuel to the sickness that is social media.

the mini imo symbolizes an antidote to that sickness. its an acknowledgment that a metaphorical barrier should exist between the user and social media/phone addiction.

the fact that the phone is finite is a plus. the fact that the phones screen is not as immersive is a plus. the phone gets back to being a tool at a moments notice rather than something you simply live through.

I'll never buy a pro, plus, or max phone ever again.

I bought mine full price and using it on Verizon. I’m going to wait a week to see if my son really wants it or it’s going back

Very well said! Great point about the smaller screen making the phone not something you live through.

yeah, it's a crappy decision. I bought a used one off swappa... used, but mint condition with apple care +!

This year's 12 blue is the International Klein Blue created by artist Yves Klein. I love his paintings. In fashion, it's tolerable because you can take it off at the end of the day, but on an iPhone, I just can't stand it at all.
