I have the 12 mini, can't send a photo on fb messenger or it freezes. Battey won't last a whole day with moderate use. Thinking i'm going to pull my sim card and put back in my 5S. Can anyone else confirm FB messenger is working on 12 as far as trying to send a photo.
Are you telling us the 5S is better? Who are you kidding?

You should be getting better battery life. I get about 6 or so hours of SoT. Maybe it is the apps you are using that are using more battery?
I could be little off; my main concern is getting fb messenger to send photos without freezing. 1 1/2 hours with apple support they basically said it's the app. I would like to find someone that can confirm if they can send a photo through the messenger app

This might be a dumb question, but did you try changing font size in Display & Brightness settings?
Yes, no doubt you've seen my reply by now, but changing the system font size only works in a few apps so it makes the UI very inconsistent. Zoom is awful, many apps end up in a box with black bands top and bottom. Just miniaturising a UI is not the answer, Apple needs to do more. It's a bit like when you buy a 4K monitor very few people would use it at its native resolution. With an iMac it is scaled by default so that everything looks bigger. The iPhone mini has not been done properly IMO. Take a look at Nokia Lumia Windows phones and you will see what I mean.

It's that static grid of icons with more space between each icon on the larger display. I'd agree with that, but I'm referring to the small font size. If you opt for a larger font in settings, it only applies to some apps and makes the whole experience messy and inconsistent.
zoom does the trick.

Edit:. Hmm. You already tried it...

I'll try anything, thanks so much, i'll let you know if it works

It works where my 12 doesnt for what i need. I don't know if its the phone or the app, trying to find out if other having the same problem

Do a complete reset and backup again, something isn’t right. If it still does it then try using the phone as new with no backup and see if it works then, if not it’s the phone. If it doesn’t do it then it’s your backup.

Still tempted. My wallet (and my girlfriend) say that I can wait and stay with my XS, but the small factor really tempt me.
I had a XS for two years and the 12 mini's screen feels almost as big, but with about the same weight as a 6, 6S or 7. I don't believe this! It seems too good to be true. My only major complaint with the XS was the weight combined with the bigger shell.

I saw the XS's screen as enormous, but the 12 mini's screen is medium to large. Nothing small about it. Seriously. In fact, it feels the same in reaching Control Centre and notifs with my thumb, except while I'm doing that I can now rest the side and bottom corner of the phone along the top of my palm and pinky finger. With the XS it had to be cradled in the air on the upper parts of my fingers, like I saw a woman do today in the supermarket.

But other than this, it's the same phone as the XS...haha

I have yet to test camera night mode properly. One of the major features I was looking forward to.

So I finally got to try out all of the new sizes at a Target.

The Mini really is cool how compact, one-handable, and light it is. I haven't had an iPhone that small since the 4S, and my hands have grown a lot since then (I was a young teen when I had my 4S). I kept accidentally putting my finger over the cameras on the back while holding the Mini, which very well could just be because of Target's huge and bulky security device attached to it, or it could be because I'm used to the spacing and finger placement of holding my XS Max. I'm so used to having such a large device that's comfortable to look at from any distance that, even just after a minute of usage, I started to get worried that I'd have to hold the Mini closer to my face than I'd like/is comfortable if I bought it. However, it's great to finally have the option of a small iPhone that doesn't compromise on features and has an edge-to-edge display.

The 12 Pro Max is nuts. Again, maybe it's due to Target's clunky security device, but the phone just seemed almost tablet sized, and I've never said that about any iPhone I've ever used despite the "phablet" term that's been around since like 2013. The 6.7 Pro Max is so big that it seemed to me like the 6.1 size is closer to the size of my 6.5 XS Max than the Pro Max.

I've been wanting to downsize from my XS Max for about a year now. When I heard the first rumor about the iPhone 12s being available in 5.4, 6.1, and 6.7 sizes, my initial thought was that 5.4 would be too small and 6.1 would be too big. This concern has stood up after finally trying the sizes in person. It seems that a 5.8 size in an iPhone 12/Pro style body would be the best fit for me.

At this point, I'm probably going to wait until next year to upgrade, but I expect to be having a difficult choice between the 5.4 Mini and the 6.1 sizes. I feel like the 6.1 size would be more of a safe bet for me given that I have always gravitated to the Plus/Max iPhones, the 6.1 size will have pretty noticeably better battery life than the Mini, and it still would give me a slightly more ergonomic device with a good display size. However, it still is so close to my XS Max in size that I wouldn't feel that it's big enough of a downsize as I've been wanting. Also, given the fact that iPhone upgrades are so incremental nowadays, I'd like a drastic change in size to make the upgrade feel significant. I just hope if I choose the Mini next year, I won't regret it 3 months in like I did when I downsized from the iPhone 7+ to the iPhone 7.

No one pick up the (not so nice as I wanted) product red? To see some real life pictures
I was trying to decide between the red and the white myself. I usually love red phones, but all reviews and comments regarding it seemed to indicate that the red is different this year, and a little more on the pink side. I loved the old red of the 11 series, so I ended up going for white instead :(

To me, it seems more coral than deep red. In my opinion the 8/8plus/XR deep red was the best.

I for one would have jumped for joy if they would have stuck with a 5.8” screen on the 12 and made the phone’s chassis smaller. Alas, my 12 Pro is a tank but I’m getting used to it. I’ve already taken a ton of pics with the Tele lens and can’t see myself going back to a phone without one, and its ability to focus in total darkness is basically science fiction.

But I will seriously consider switching to a “Mini Pro” if Apple decides to make that a thing next year.

Loving my Mini also! So much lighter and easier to hold one handed than my 11 Pro. Originally after setting up the phone I thought the battery was going to be an issue because it was drying fast but after doing a "settings" reset, all is well. Screen protector will "brick" the touch screen, you've been warned!
What setting do you think was affecting your mini that a reset fixed the substantial battery drain? I too am feeling the same way about the battery feeling like its draining a bit too fast. Should I consider resetting settings? (I setup my mini using the bluetooth data transfer from my 11 pro)

Has anyone else experienced this?

Gotta say, using the Mini now for a week: the speakers on this little thing Wowza! 😀 The volume is insane and spacial audio effect is super impressive. The only thing that I'm disappointed is the lack of bass (when people clap, the clap sounds shallow, claps and sounds from shoe steps lack "thump" kinda hard to explain) also, the top and bottom speaker are set on a different sound level: the ear speaker is louder than the bottom and so the stereo effect sounds unbalanced unless I flip the phone so that the notch is on the right side 🤔 only then the stereo sounds like it should (might be a placebo, maybe my brain is tricking me? 🤭)

I returned my Mini for the 12..mini feels great in hand but fonts are a bit small for me. The 12 feels really big coming from an 8 but it’s much easier to read than the Mini. I think the Mini would benefit if it was a few mm wider. It will certainly take me some time to adapt.

Who else is buying iPhone 12 Mini?
I am.

After complaining loudly and often about Apple abandoning the small form factor phone I can't very well not jump in and buy it when they finally release an all new one. Arrived this evening, cost me $0 + sales tax.

Going to be a nightmare going from an SE to all the new functionalities I've mostly ignored for years now. 😅
