Does anyone have in hands both iPhone 12 Mini White and Black?
Which one does look the best?

If your planning to go naked the white looks really nice, if in a case the black looks better as you cannot see the frame where as the silver frame on the white device can stand out and annoy some people.

I’ll be getting one... as soon as the Thai reseller here has the max capacity available - Trade-in is worth about a third for my current Xs phone.

I may need multifocal contacts these days, but I’ve got previous with small phones from pre-smartphone days ;-)

I've been waiting YEARS for a replacement for my original iPhone SE (I've repaired it twice and bought a second one a year ago). When I read the rumours of a possible iPhone SE 2, I was excited for a while and almost bit the bullet, but I'm glad I didn't!
Looking forward to getting the iPhone 12 Mini!

I got my iPhone 12 mini about 10 days ago and my feelings are mixed. On the one hand, it's a decent, lightweight phone with the newest hardware, but on the other hand, there are a lot of drawbacks. Expectations from 12 mini were hight as it's a replacement for the iPhone 8. The three main things I wanted to upgrade were a camera, a display and a better battery life. While the camera is nicer and an OLED display is an upgrade, the battery life falls behind. The battery is draining quite fast in standby mode. Doesn't matter if the low power mode is enabled or not. Moreover, the aspect ratio is instead of 16:9 19.5:9 which is very weird. Even though the phone is small, I can reach the top left neither top right corner without adjusting my hand grip.

To sum it up; the greatest concern is the battery life and display feels too narrow. Does it make sense to have mini instead of regular one if I have to readjust my hand grip anyway?

The iPhone 12 mini is still in the return time frame so I am considering to return it. If so, which iPhone to get? I was thinking about 11 Pro as the battery is beast, the camera is almost the same + telephoto and a slightly larger screen. However, size is on par with regular iPhone 12 and 11 Pro with 188g sounds bulky. iPhone 12 has a 6.1" screen, which is even bigger, but the device is lighter. The price of the iPhone 12 128GB and iPhone 11 Pro 256GB is at the same price. I believe 128GB storage is more than enough. Almost forgot to say that 5G is not a big deal for me.

Is there anybody who had mixed feelings from the iPhone 12 mini and got a different model?
Personally feeling too small rather than bigger XS in my first trying. But after finding a buyer for XS I switched very quickly. Battery life isn’t a problem for me, it’s even better than it was on my XS (and it had a new battery with 100% capacity). Lighter phone and being able to use it with one hand, I couldn’t be more happier. For longer periods and when I want a bigger screen, I’m using my iPad Pro, so this isn’t a concern.

White. Black is quite boring to me.
The same. I am in fact a big fan of black as there has only been one iPhone that looked as clean, iPhone 7 Jet Black. The black 12 looks like made from one piece. Plus you don't see the black borders/bezels of the display like you do with the others. It does look very, very good.
But after having to return my black 12 Mini because of display issues I chose the white and it does look much more vibrant and in fact very good. Classic but not too boring. But if you want the cleanest look and bother about black bezels showing or the silver frame shining through the case, go with black. If you want something less boring and more vibrant, go with white.

That is my set up as well. I don’t use my iPhone all the time because i have my iPad Pro for most use. And in between media consumption, I have my Apple Watch

Nice to meet you, haha. 😀 My only missing device is Apple Watch - still didn’t see much usage for me.

Nice to meet you as well.

I thought the same thing before I got my first Apple Watch (series 3). Once I had the watch, I couldn’t believe i had waited so long to get one. It really does an excellent job of being an extension of your iPhone in many ways. I don’t need to pull my phone out of my Apple leather sleeve to see text messages, make or answer phone calls, view email, play music, check my health data, or even view the latest article on MR, as well as seeing the latest news, not to mention the watch is excellent for being able to run without having to carry the phone in the front pocket.

Try turning off 5G and see if it helps?

The battery life can be an issue, but should not be much worse than that of iPhone 8.

The display feels too narrow because it is taller, so kind of stretched. However, if you overlay it on top of your iPhone 8, you will be surprised to see they are almost the same width.

I have recently downsized from iPhone 11 and went with 12 mini. I like it a lot. 👍 Ask yourself a simple question - why did you buy your mini vs iPhone 11 or 12? At the end of the day, you can adjust to either of them, it just depends what is more important for you in a phone - weight, size and “pocket-friendliness” or being more of your main media consumption device/portable office. You have a bigger screen on your mini compared to iPhone 8 already. Otherwise, iPhone 11 Pro could be a good compromise for you, as you will have a slightly bigger screen and a much better battery life. iPhone 12, while it is lighter, is quite a bit larger, moving it into an “iPad micro” category for me.

Good luck with your choice. 🖐

Does the 12 Mini White looks more pure white than it looks on video?
Also its silver frame? it looks like its more goldish/pinkish silver taint?
I cant decide which one is better, i like more white/silver since i always choose this color for Apple device, meanwhile, this year, 12 Mini Black looks really clean and amazing (its pure black, i like it)
Thanks

For me it looks really cool, but I’m a fan of white phones. It has a silver frame, but those white backs looks excellent to me. I don’t feel the same about the black, it seems to me like a very boring colour. Like Jet Black or Matte iPhone 7 looks better to me. It’s a personal thing. Sorry not helping. 😀

No, it looks almost exactly like in the videos.

Different lightning, different kinda white. In blueish light it's a colder white color, but normally a little reddish, creme tint. And frame also has some shade of champagne in it. This year ain't it for people loving very cold, clear white.

I ordered a Gold Pro Max 512GB but i secretly want a Blue iPhone Mini, I don't know when my Pro Max arrives if to return it for a Blue Mini or something like that. Lol

I am a power user, even iPhone is sometimes not enough for me, more like top of the line imported Note 20 Ultra. I just have very small hands , like a 15 year old girl, but my current iPhone with 256GB is 256GB full..i wish i also had a mini just to take selfies. Like grabbing it with the hand, i guess i'll need some kind of remote shutter? Popsocket? What can i get my Pro Max?

But yeah my favorites are the iPhone Mini and Pro Max this year, i like both extremes. The other phones in the middle are not interesting to me.

Congrats on the Minis! I would rock a Blue Mini with a California Poppy Leather case and Pink Citrus silicone case. Probably with a Baltic Blue Magsafe wallet or Saddle Brown.

Right now will rock Pro Max Gold with Plum Silicone case and no leather one draws me with Gold combo. After silicone Plum i would probably aim for Cyprus Green.

Please explain your power usage?
I run custom roms on my phones. I heavy usage my ex android phones to the point i had to change it once every 6 months to 1 year because the logic board in my Samsung's died. I like to also manually flash stuff on my 2013 Samsung Gear with full Skype and 3 Voip numbers running at the same time through my watch before the Apple Watch existed. Back in 2007 i unlocked iPhones even hardware before the ANYSIM's unlock. Google Glass.. Palm Pilots... exploding Note 7's.. overclocking phones to run games..

I burned a Samsung Galaxy every 6 months... the logic board suddenly died. Until my family is happy that i got iPhone so i don't have to go through cellphones so quickly.

i went in physical shop, cant even hold iPhone, shop assistant cant even hold iPhone and show the back of iPhone
That's lame, only frame colors were visible, iPhone 12 Mini was in black while iPhone 12 was in Blue
12 Mini black has some frame blue tint perhaps due to the lights

How are you generally satisfied with the battery life? Can it go through the whole day without charging (light/average usage)?
It really depends on what kind of usage and the apps involved. If you are spending most of your time on social media and YouTube etc., you may not make it an entire day on a single charge. However, if you are talking about texting, phone, light internet use and the like etc., you should be fine.

By power user you mean “ phone breaker”. Seems excessive.

It's more than enough for me. I typically end the day at around 65-70% battery life. But I am a pretty light-medium user. Checking mail, social media posts, weather reports, etc.

It seems to be less than that of my old 8 Plus, but I generally have no issues with my battery life so far.
