So just curious, why are you now thinking of an iPhone, you've changed your mind more then I have lol!

because the device is clean, fast, gets updates (even though i will always wait for JB) excellent camera, good size (regular 6s)

I will wait for some kind of a discount or deal though.

I would probably prefer sony and mostly stock android, but I want root, and that means unlocked bootloader, which fries the DRM keys. Z3 was the last sony that could backup the DRM keys because it has a root vulnerability in its older OS. the z3+ / z4 have not been able to back up DRM keys and I doubt the z5 will anytime soon. I wager getting a jailbreak on iOS has much much higher hope than being able to backup DRM keys on Z5 or z6 etc..

Nexus 5 doesnt seem like it will be a big enough upgrade from my current phone, which means waiting another entire year, and I don't get the bells and whistles that I got from moving from iphone 4 to gs4 GPE either.

ramble ramble :p, give me like $100-$150 off a 64gb 6S and a jailbreak and Ill probably bite

Sounds reasonable to me. Don't know how lucky you'll be finding a deal on one though.

costco is giving $100 off preorders on a tmobile version very surprisingly, could cancel the service and pay off the phone and use it on my carrier ATT. Not sure it is worth the hassle yet and I have no costco near me to spend the $100 + $25 costco cash with.

I hear you though, I'm not against swappa if the device is still under apple warranty

Hmm seems a hassle. Would you be able to haggle a deal with ATT? Or are they not like that? It could be worth it to get a knowingly brand new phone and saving yourself money.

Possibly, but I am on ATT gophone prepaid because I hate dealing with their postpaid BS. Not willing to go back :p I have a feeling Target will have some gift card deal at some point, they have in the past. Wife loves target, so that is as good as cash.

If you're a Mac User, I would look into seeing what Automator can do. It can do some really cool stuff, especially if it reads your iCloud drive as a folder.
No Mac anymore since the iMac died but I will be getting a rMBP. Thanks for the info I'll look into it.

Looks like this is a Bluetooth LE issue with Windows 8 and might be resolved with Windows 10. Fingers crossed for you.

That's good news, where did you read that? I assumed it was some kind of Apple limitation.

Of course at work we are on windows 7 for the foreseeable future with no plans for 10 at the moment, but maybe it will work via pushbullet.com like it does for android (but that wouldn't even use Bluetooth so I'm confused).

Apple must only have a notification api over Bluetooth or something

Found it here in the Help section of their site. I've never used it, only heard great things online. Their site actually isn't very informative--doesn't it work though browser extensions as well? I see links for Firefox, Chrome, and Safari as well.

Very nice, i see. Thanks! The notifications are only able to go through Bluetooth indeed. Android just uses regular cell or wifi data. It does work through extensions, but not the notification mirroring or sms functionality from an iOS host device, looks like Bluetooth is the only option for those two features. The regular 'pushes' would work fine

I've noticed a decent bit of lag with iOS 9 on my 6+, it's still quite glitchy and that's on a fresh install not an ota update

Anybody read this thread?

It seems iOS 9 is causing a LOT of LAG for a LOT of people!

No lag on my S6 Plus - running iOS 9 from an OTA upgrade install or on my iPad Air 2 running as a fresh clean install. I am running with reduce motion enabled on both as i prefer crossfade than the animations regardless.

I never even saw lag on my old 6 plus running the beta version. Maybe that is becssue I came from an LG g4, which makes touchwiz look great.

Funny, my LG G4 doesn't lag at all.

I installed iOS 9 on an iPhone 6 and an iPad 3 - seemed alright to me.
