Yeah iOS9 is lagging pretty badly for me, I have to double check sometimes that I didn't install Touchwiz on it by accident.
Yeah, although the 6plus has always stuttered more than any other iphone I've had, probably because it renders everything 3x then scales down to 1080p. Hopefully the a9 will get it running smooth again.

Been due for an upgrade back in May. I prefer the iPhone "s" versions as I prefer the more powerful twin. But haven't been interested in iOS in FIVE years. If my Android shows animation lag, I just turn off all animations in developer's option. I don't trip on apps and visual stutter anymore. Been more practical as of late. As long as the camera is decent and it has LONG battery life in a comfortable size, I'm happy. I don't need extra horsepower or features I might barely use to feel content. Heck, I don't even game anymore on my phone.

I live in the Pirates of the Pacific. Need my torrent apps and TubeMate. Android has all that. Been too busy downloading a few hundred gigabytes of content to even care for a new phone. And if I can't have Android, I would rather switch to WP like a Nokia Lumia 730/735 before iPhone again. It simply works better with my Windows 8.1 PC/tablet and has uTorrent on it. Android and WP is more complementary to each other. PC-like. I would only go back to iOS if I switched from PC to Mac which isn't anytime soon.

My 6 Plus has been lagging on IOS 9 too. I'll bet there will an update in about a month or so to fix it. This gives incentive to more IP 6 owners to upgrade to the 6s.

Weird my 5s is running like new.
I even did a factory reset and started from scratch then restored my apps. Still lags every now and then opening apps like the new News app. Even TouchID seems a little slower then on IOS 8.

Try turning reduce motion on. Settings - General - Accessibility.

We don't have the news app here.

Well, I initially ordered a 128GB Silver 6s Plus when preorder window opened up, but since I owned a 6 Plus already I thought it over many, many times and finally cancelled the order. 6 Plus does lag a lot and it is annoying, but not $1000 annoying. I can wait another year.

Then I picked up a used Galaxy Note 4 for $300, because I was getting bored of iOS and wanted something new. So far I'm fairly satisfied (keeping my 6 Plus though) and it pretty much killed any regret I had over cancelling 6s Plus order.

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
The 6 Plus lags a lot??!!!! Seriously? That's pretty poor if a phone launched a year ago and desinged by the people who make the OS lags. If it was an old phone model I could understand, not a new one.
I haven't noticed my brother laws lag when I've played with his. Then again he did tell me once it can be slow sometimes. I thought it was just him haha.
My mums iPad 3 is running pretty well under iOS 9.

I think the Plus has always been slightly slower than the standard 6 but the lag seems to be in scattered cases. I had a touch of lag when I first installed but this has not returned since I rebooted my phone. I have been told however that the lag is still there, I just don't notice it!! Haha!

My 6 is running nicely on iOS 9 as is my iPad Air. I assume there will be a follow update soon anyway as Apple are pretty good in that respect.

I remember the six plus lagging, for me, in the app switcher and safari tab overlay. That combined with the limited ram-induced problems led to me returning the phone shortly after launch. When I had a six plus for a month or so, up until the note 5 launched, I did not see the lag anymore (ram issues still present).

So I assume an update fixed that, but its back again, until apple patches. It just seemed like the six plus was underpowered, which sounds crazy. But the fact that the six plus renders the screen at a 3x resolution (or something like that) and then scales it back down is most likely the culprit. I understand why apple did it that way, but it does hamper the phone a bit.

Hopefully this isn't an issue anymore with the six s plus, and its on board A9. Just got my tracking number today. Should have it by Friday.

I'm going to miss the note 5, but like I said several pages earlier, the iPhone is going to fit my lifestyle (work) better. I'll write up a reviewed comparison of the two next week.

The note 5 has been a great phone, with only few issues....which pop up on all phones.

It's definitely laggier than any iPhones I've used, especially for only being a year old. I'm not saying it's unusable but I experience stutters in home screen when I swipe, opening apps, closing apps, recent apps, notification bar, etc.

Everything it does stutters a bit. Except in apps. It's the animations. Sometimes it's not so noticeable. Sometimes you can clearly see the stutters. Most of the time they're tiny framedrops in animations. Once I noticed it, I can't stop noticing! At least it's not affecting its performance or battery life (superb battery life, seriously).

... Note 4 isn't lag free either though. I still see stutters on it but at least it's fast. Really fast.

Despite this I still like my 6 Plus. It does what I need it to do. I just got note 4 so I can keep my mind off 6s Plus. It's fun to try new things. I never used an Android device before.

Interesting. I didn't notice it during my month with my 6 plus, running iOS 9 beta. Then again, I was more forgiving, since it was beta software, so maybe I just didn't note the lag.

That was my take as well. When I was running the beta IOS 9........well it was beta so I just figured it would get sorted out by release time. But my IP 6 Plus really lags and stutters on IOS 9. I did a reset to factory and restored my apps and still it is struggling.

Beta 1 by all accounts seems better for these issues than the ios 9 release. Only stutter I've seen since upgrading was an animation stutter into multitasking window but since enabling reduce motion again it's very smooth for me.

I enabled that again after a year with it switched off and released how horrible the animations are. I soon switched back and thankfully my iPhone is smooth as butter. Is the plus historically slower because of the downscaling it has to go through?

higher resolution screens also use more ram (could partially explain difference btw 6 & 6plus performance, aside from the resolution itself), at least according to all the discussions about the z5 compact coming with 2gb ram, rather than 3 like the rest of their lineup.

not sure about the scaling problem, having the gpu work 3 times as hard is rather silly, would enjoy reading about that..

I might order an Apple Watch down the road in the next few weeks. Was hesitant to try it out, but the Android Wear on iOS is a shell of what is on Android.
