nobody buys an 16gb device to shoot 10hours of 4k, you can't blindly buy 16gb and expect 10 hours of 4k video.

Btw, you can record up to 30 min of 4k on 16gb, not 5 min ;). I agree that this is greedy stuff from apple but these are kind of stuff Apple did all the time(like no flash, always the last to upgrade ram, late nfc integration). For me personally it's not a dealbreaker.

Different story. Apple has no competitor, Samsung needs to realize they need to stop competing with Apple which is useless. Apple can sell at their prices and people come in droves regardless, Samsung can continue to try but when others offering quality android phones are priced lower is rather peculiar business. They cannot see themselves losing market share????
Samsung seems to be a just a little behind the learning curve. They have been dinged for plastic phones so they came out with the best reviewed and probably Android phones of the year in the Note 5 and Edge Plus. But their pricing is a little high in a saturated Android market space.
But the same people here in this thread have complained about other phone brands being over priced has no problem spending $900 to $1000 on an iPhone. smh.........

That was my point

Agreed.

The nature of the market place is a different debate.

Apple can charge what they want because you, my forum friends (and myself in the past), will pay what they ask. Don't buy it, and you will see an immediate change from Apple. It's plain and simple. Also, its only logical that if you are going to critize samsung for pricing, for example, you do the same with Apple.

Both companies have R&D cost, but Samsung spends more. Samsung also gives bleeding edge tech in their phones. They may not have 3d touch, but that have edge screen, best in class displays, fasters storage by a mile, etc.. The list goes on, and finally Samsung is making slow progress on the software front.

Samsung has the better argument for their prices. Apples is "becasue we can". You don't have to believe me on that, besides for spending less on research, their profit margins prove it. You don't make that much money per phone if you are putting a ton of money into tech and research.

That being said, both companies need a reality check on prices, and due to Android competition, Samsung will get the memo sooner.

Still... Us as consumers have the most power to control this. Complain all you want, but if you keep buying, the price will stay the same or go up. Period. I am as guilty as anyone.

Samsung memo was handed to them.

It's too bad that Android OEMs are not able to stay more profitable. The only thing that this is going to hurt is competition with Apple. Samsung probably needs to differentiate on software from the competition. Samsung has been lagging on software, but should make it such that Android users will want Touchwiz etc. .

That comes across as making an excuse, it is flawed, you have a feature you cannot use due to the very limited non expandable storage on a very expensive device. It makes no difference if you can spend £80 more for the next storage size because the 16gb model still exists.
You can also use one of Apples other products, iCloud. I think this is the assumption with the 16GB model, then again I don't really care.

It looks like the battery is smaller on the new iPhones this year.

In the video the iPhone 6s is dismantled and viewers can see that the battery is marked "1715 mAh". This confirms previous rumors, which have said that the iPhone 6s' battery capacity would be down to 1715 mAh from the iPhone 6's 1810 mAh.

Rumors also indicated that the iPhone 6s Plus would see its capacity drop down to 2750 mAh from the iPhone 6 Plus' 2910 mAh. While the iPhone 6s Plus' true battery capacity is currently unconfirmed, confirmation of a lower capacity will likely come in the next few weeks as the device is subject to teardowns and technical breakdowns. After trying out a iPhone 6 Plus back in the winter, and returning it in the 30 day period, I say there is NO WAY I'd even be remotely interested in the 6S. Zero interest whatsoever.

I even JB my 6 Plus and still didn't help.

IMO the iPhone hardware is great, very nice deign, excellent build quality, pretty display, etc... But man iOS just SUCKS, wow, it felt like it was 5 years outdated or something. The OS did not match the cool phone it was running on.

Just so many limitations, zero customization, so many strange ways the OS operates, can't set default non Apple apps. I could write a laundry list of crap I hated about iOS.

Yeah i think it's to do with the 3D touch making it larger or something
That's what one article said. The new 3D touchscreen adds another layer to the overall thickness of the phone. So to keep the form factor the same they reduced the size of the battery.

That's exactly my issue. There is only a minor difference when operating a 4S compared to a 6. Same with the iPad. My iPad 2 feels the same as the latest iPad models, minus the speed and several missing features.

Also hate when they come up with new features, you have to use it the way Apple wants you to.

You should count yourself lucky that the decision is as easy as it is for you. Having used Android for so many years I often get tempted by features I see but when I play with it I realise I prefer iOS still. It's never completely clear cut but you sound sure so that has to be a bonus. :)

Samsung need to stop making the junk below tge Edge and Note 5. Seriously, how many models do they have?

They are the Ford of smartphones. Their flagship phones are good but they are a mid tier brand because of the other junk they make.

They are unfashionable and uncool. Its only gadget geeks that like them. We all like android so we can customise our home pages and layout. Most people don't care about this. They want the apple branding.

Go into a coffee shop. 99% of laptops used in them by customers are macbooks. Isnt the window's market share over 80% of all laptops sold? Yes, but where are they? I rarely see a non macbook laptop when out and about.

I read the same thing. I think IOS 9 has some power optimizations that will offset the battery. I hope anyway.

I've been seeing excellent battery performance on my 6+ since running the iOS 9 beta starting a month ago (running the GM on it now), even better than before. And while I'm not happy about the use of a smaller battery, I'm optimistic that the power management improvements in iOS 9 will offset the difference. Well, here's hoping that's the case.

samsung low end models really do give samsung a bad name, I cant reccomend a low end samsung phone in good conscience, performs significantly worse than say a moto e or g and they are hardly if at all get their software updated. I'm not even sure I would agree that they make midrange devices at all. The closest thing would probably be the galaxy alpha, but thats moreso a high end compact device for me.

They must have it figured out that they make more money with all these models, but I dont understand it. People must be buying them though, because samsung sure has volume

you can call samsung a midtier brand i guess, but their flagships have tip top bleeding edge hardware

as far as macbooks in coffee shops, dont know what to tell you, coffee shops have the kind of people that are apples target demographic. If they are going to pay extra for a cup of coffee every day, they probably will pay extra for their computers too. Go in dunkin donuts or mcdonalds and I doubt youll see many macbooks :p I have a windows laptop, but I never do work in coffee shops and at this point the only reason i use a PC over phone/tablet is work

I am running the beta on my Air 2 but did not do so with my Plus and I will just wait for the update next week.

For what I use the Plus for (music, browsing, text, email and light gaming) the battery lasts all day anyway. For it do be even better on iOS 9 is great.

I never answered the OP, I am not upgrading to the 6s or 6s Plus.

software is a big reason i'm back with apple...samsung software is shocking for me. TW needs to be completly re-designed. Everything else is top draw but the lag with the software just got to me in the end. Still will enjoy using my edge but not as my daily driver

Yeah, I'm getting one, but suddenly I'm not sure which one anymore. I sold my 6 last week with the idea I would get the 6S, but now that I'm using my 6 plus again and am thinking of getting the 6S Plus instead. Will get either 128gb 6S or 64gb 6S Plus.
