They do look cool! Did that one not work in general, or just with your Mach-E?
Tesla app says it's compatible, but this bank of chargers did not work - tried other towers.

I usually use the V3 towers but this one is a new installation near my flight school.

There were 6 other Teslas charging just fine.

Bummer first time using a V4 tower.....

Don’t get too excited about Sirius xm integration. I think it will be expensive.

Why would it be any different than the internet streaming account?

I added a SXM module from an TMS Plaid to my TMY, so I've had SXM via satellite for a year. I just started paying for LiveOne radio so my wife has radio (since it's no longer free), I will cancel it as soon as I can get SXM via the app for my wife's TM3. I'm curious to see how the new app will play with those of us with SXM via satellite...

To get the SXM module in the TM3 you have to move the board over to a TM3 radio module, this is the only reason I didn't do it to the TM3 yet.

Don’t you guys get free digital radio in the states? We do over here. 100’s of channels.
Mind you I usually just use Apple CarPlay and Apple Music in my EV. Especially this time of year.

Tesla used to have free Slacker Radio (which is now LiveOne) here in the US. In other countries Tesla's got free Spotify (in place of Slacker) while here in the US we had to pay for a premium account to get Spotify, the free Spotify account wouldn't work. It has been reported that the free Spotify now works in the US, but LiveOne now requires a paid account to stream to Teslas.

Apple Music is available in Tesla's in the UI. I don't pay for Apple Music though. It is no additional cost, you just sign in. You can do Amazon music with Prime (one device at a time), but you need the paid Prime music to get multiple sign ins and all music.

Are you talking about DAB? I think our equivalent is HD Radio.

I read somewhere, probably on MR the SXM subscription on the Tesla interface will cost about $12/13 per month. We’ll have to see.

Satellite radio probably is difficult to understand for us who can end in a different country with a wrong turn.

In the United States there is probably a different reasoning.

Like also Starlink.

Yes. Free digital radio stations. Lots of them. No one pays for Radio over here. Yes streaming on Spotify, Amazon music or Apple Music but not radio.

We do have digital radio stations. But over the are radio just isn't good. They do soooooo many commercials.

Yes, we use SXM and can listen to the same station from NY to CA. Digital radio gets interrupted even locally by geographic hurdles. Stations will be in major cities but driving outside of major cities (most of the US is rural not cities) you lose signals. This is why SXM still exists today.

I read that too but passed that off as people guessing. I could be wrong, but I'm going to assume it is going to be standard streaming since there is no radio ID involved.

My personal solution is Apple Music, podcasts (Tesla should figure something beyond using BT, the current options suck) and live FM when a football (⚽) match is on.

Tesla has Apple Music/Slacker (LiveOne)/Amazon Music/Youtube Music/Spotify/Audible and a few others build in the UI...

I have SXM on my Model Y (I retrofitted it).

Never thought to even ask this question, but do Tesla's come with AM/FM radio? Or do you have to stream all that stuff digitally?

Yes.

For streaming music things are great. There is almost every option. Podcasts could be better.

As said, they do and it's well implemented and very convenient to use.

The Apple podcasts app is not very friendly and versatile if you follow several podcasts (20 for example) and want to set priorities, automatic playback and so on.

While it might not be ideal, it is available, and most podcasts are on that platform. So, you might have to do things differently, but they can be done. I would have to assume Apple Podcast is the #1 podcasts platform in the world. You are right, it doesn't have the customizable options that others have.

I used to just listen to the latest of each podcast, so it's just switching to the next one I want to listen to. But I stopped listening to podcasts, I'm back on SXM. And I have my 3-year-old in the car with me, so most podcasts are not enjoyable/age appropriate for him.

Depending on where you live in the US there can be lots of terrestrial radio stations, or barely any. We have probably 100 stations in the NYC metro, mostly free with ads or free due to listener support.

Sirius XM radio is a little different, though. Many of the stations are human curated with high quality DJs and there are no advertisements -- plus access is via internet or satellite broadcast, a huge plus if you live or regularly drive through a part of the country that is not serviced by terrestrial radio and cellular service is spotty. The satellite audio quality is garbage, with the satellites having very thin transmission bands and pre-mp3 quality compression, and so most listeners will use an internet stream when available and only switch to satellite when in a dead zone.

Sirius has hundreds of stations with extremely narrow focus, such as a single type of music or a specific sports team. It's excellent audio content that is less repetitive than AI playlists and is worth paying for. I was hooked on the blues and outlaw country stations for a few years and only got rid of it because I found myself listening to more podcasts.
