Who will be keeping their iPhone 12 series this year?

I will skip 2 gen minimum before upgrade.
It makes for me the upgrade more enjoyable and visible. Waiting for a 120 Hz with no notch or maybe a foldable ? I even keep my previous phone (iPhone 7 day one) 4 years but this time I think it will be 3 years, 4 was long for me, I'm very rational on spendings (I prefer investing) but I'm also tech enthusiast !

I prefer spend €1k in some noticeable quality of life improvements (financing a bit of 5* hotel for this summer with my family, good OLED TV etc) rather than just paying incremental SoC/camera upgrade

Im currently on my 11 Pro Max and skipped the 12.

I would happily skip the 13 this year also, but my wife needs to replace her 7s+....... so naturally, I will have to buy the 13 Pro Max and hand my 11 Pro Max down to her....... Mwahahaha

Im glad I've broken out of the yearly upgrades I used t get sucked into though. After this year it'll be another 2-3 years minimum before I upgrade again.....

I’ve had my Pacific Blue 12 Pro Max since launch and I have to say, that I still love this device as if it was the first day I unboxed it. I love the color, the size and the weight of my phone. My Pro Max is also jailbroken on 14.1, so I know I’m missing out on the improvements after 14.1, but it’s still not enough to get me upgrade my software and phone. I didn’t watch WWDC, so I don’t know what Apple is bringing out in iOS 15, but I guess I’ll find out whenever I upgrade later in the year. Even though Apple will be launching new iPhones this year, I am sitting out upgrading this year and have 0 issues upgrading in 2022. Is anyone else planning on not upgrading this year?
I will be keeping my 12 pro max. No reason to upgrade. 120 refresh is the draw? I never once ever thought my iPhone didn’t scroll smooth or refresh quick enough.

my 11 Pro is the first time in my life i used the same phone for over a year. i used to switch s60 devices every six months and annual iPhone upgrades. i'll probably jump to a 13 pro max this time, i buy them outright and i passed my old X to my partner and i guess i'll keep the 11 pro as my Drone Phone or sell it 🤷‍♂️

As the thread asks: Who will be keeping their 12 series iPhone? Well garsh, for me with my iPhone7 I more inclined to ask: Will I be getting an iPhone12 mini next year when prices come down to feature the 13 incarnations? And the mini is about the largest I want or can hold easily.

I don't know if I should upgrade from the 12 mini. I will first see if people will laugh at me.

Normally around this time with the rumors swirling, I’m intrigued to upgrade, but not this year. This 12 Pro Max, is the best iPhone I’ve ever owned.

What did you have before the 12PM?

I recall you in the pre order thread getting as excited as I was! I was in the uk thread experiencing my first iPhone pre order for my blue 12

Keeping my blue 12 pro this year. Got 256gb as well so storage won’t be a problem as it was with my last phone which forced me to upgrade. This year is looking like an S upgrade so I will wait until next year to see what other features they include.

Just wondering what are the main things you do that requires a jailbreak ?
A lot of it is customization. For example, my iPad's homescreen jailbroken is 10x8 instead of 6x5, and I put the new iOS 14 widgets on it (yes, you read that right).

On my iPhone, it's completely filled with widgets on a 6x8 homescreen (instead of 4x6 - doubled!), along with a six-folder dock. ;)

That's just the beginning, but hopefully, that's a good example of why I personally jailbreak.

I jailbreak for the customization. I’m still on iOS 14.1, that my phone shipped with. I don’t care about the new features that were released after 14.1. My jailbreak is more important than an update. Plus I have tweaks that Apple haven’t added or probably won’t.

Yeah, after a bit of a reminder handling an iPhone 5, the regular 12 feels a bit too big for my tastes. How in the world do people think a max-sized phone is comfortable?

I can hold mine for hours and my hands don’t hurt. I don’t have any problem trying with 2 hands, since I can type faster that way. I don’t have any issues with my phone in any of the pockets on my pants. I’m also a woman who very rarely carries a purse. I have 0 issues with it in my car. I have a special slot I sit my phone in when I connect to Apple CarPlay.

The biggest phone I’ve owned was an 8+ and I have to admit it was nice to downsize to an iPhone 12. I used to have to take it out of my pocket every time I sat down as it would dig into my hip in the types of jeans I wear. I got used to it and loved the phone but I don’t think I’d ever go back to anything bigger than the 12 now, not that I would ever pay what the 12 Pro Max costs in my country on principle either.

Will keep my 512 GB 11 Pro Max... Well, if the battery degrades too much, I will have to evaluate whether I change the battery or upgrade to a 13 and keep the 11 Pro max as backup.

It’s a leap year. A14 Bionic rockets past every other smartphone chip. The Pro camera system takes low-light photography to the next level — with an even bigger jump on iPhone 12 Pro Max. And Ceramic Shield delivers four times better drop performance. Let’s see what this thing can do.
