The Seiko 5 has arrived. Probably will be my casual wear watch. The Amazon pics don't do it justice. Feels heavy, and the dial is beautiful in person. Best $99 spent ever.

Thanks. I love it as well. I'm thinking about taking it back and get the metal bracelet and just get some brown leather bands and change them out when I feel.

Good idea. Makes it more versatile!

Wow, the price must have dropped recently. I've been keeping my eye on it, and dropping hints for Christmas, for a few weeks now and it's been hovering around $129.

Just came back to this thread after a few months, and I was wondering how the rest of you feel when traveling with your more expensive and/or sentimental watches. I'm always nervous as hell that something will happen when I put mine on the conveyor at airport security. Or when I'm on a road trip and I have to stop for gas at what turns out to be a somewhat sketchy gas station. In the case of airports I know TSA is watching everything, but I just can't help feeling uneasy letting my watch out of my sight with hundreds of people moving about.

As I mentioned above, I'll be getting a Seiko 5 as a gift (either from someone else or as a gift to myself ;) ). That will become my weekend/beater watch, but I'm starting to think that a cheapish GMT style watch would serve as a good vacation/travel stand-in. Anyone have any suggestions for something that would fit the bill that also wouldn't leave me totally heart broken if it were stolen? Let's say under $250, analog only, but Quartz would be ok.

And since it's been awhile, here's another pic of my Tag. Since this has so much sentimental value to me, I would hate for something to happen to it. This will continue to be my daily driver at work. The Bourne tie-in adds some cool factor too. A dress watch will be on the list someday too, but I always work in a business casual environment, so the need for one is not great.

I've been thinking about getting one for a few months and seeing your pictures and remembering I'd got a bit of credit with PayPal has made my mind up.

Should be here by Tuesday. :)

I'm a bit obsessed with watches and looking at them online. I can't believe I never noticed this thread!

Here's my Rolex Air King 14010m. Purchased in 2005 and will probably keep it forever. I love the unique engine turned bezel with the classic/clean look of a mid-size dress watch. It was also one of the most affordable Rolex watches because of its size and stainless build. :)

I've always found Rolex not my cup of tea, but I actually like this one.

I've been considering the orient Bambino myself as a dress watch and at £84 online, I don't think you can go far wrong. A lovely looking watch :)

It's an absolute steal at that price! I think I paid about £130 for mine when it came out. Don't hesitate, just buy it. It's a lovely watch.

I fell foul of the forum rules by listing a watch I have for sale in this thread so apologies for that. It's in the marketplace if you are interested in a Citizen Eco Drive Chronograph.

Not sure what people will make of this. Haven't been wearing a watch for the last 12 months, opting for a Withings Pulse activity tracker that told the time at the press of a button and needed charging at least once a week. This steps things up a notch!
