It's a quality watch that only cost me $100. It's fit and finish is excellent. And so far, it only loses 5 seconds a day which it much better than average for a mechanical watch
that may all be true, but it's hard for me to appreciate such a blatant copy of another brand. a lot of the watches on their website may as well be called replicas IMHO. as long as you like it that's all that matters.

I bought it from Amazon. I had no idea it was a "replica". BTW, it comes with a 2 year Amazon warranty.

nice. i had no idea either. i saw the heavy influence of IWC in your particular model so that's why i inquired. another poster provided the link to me. in any case, enjoy your timepiece. i'm not here to judge, just providing my own personal opinion.

I would not do it a disservice and call it a "replica" as that is a dirty word in watch collecting circles and has all sorts of intellectual property and moral integrity connotations.

The fact that the makers of these watches are selling them on Amazon and do not appear to be getting chased around court for cease and desist orders by the likes of IWC, Panerai or the other manufacturers of which their watches are homages to makes it fair game. Steinhart for example have practically made their name through their Rolex Submariner homages - even going as far as releasing a homage to the most collectable Submariner of them all - the 'red' Submariner (Google "Steinhart Ocean One Vintage Red").

Figured this was a great place for some feedback.

Looking to buy a everyday watch to wear with a suit (normally navy or gray), i prefer leather bands, but also has the flexibility to be worn with casual wear on the weekends.

Would like to stay under $200 if possible and looking for multiple options as I am not opposed to buying multiple watches if you will but need a good starting point of where to buy, known reputable brands, and watches that are considered some of the staples in the industry.

Thanks for any feedback!

I would recommend SKAGEN, like this one. I think they go perfectly with business but also casual

That looks beautiful. I also did some research and nmmv? Looked like some nice watches if that is the correct name.

I was also going to recommend Skagen in that price range. Lovely to wear and very stylish.

Thanks but i don't own that model, i have a different SKAGEN, just wanted to recommend a model i like

I used to have a Skagen - I gave it to my brother (who still wears it, he is a lawyer so it is good for formal and casual wear) - and it was a terrific watch, stylish, solid and extremely well made.

Others that I would recommend include Tissot - they make some very good watches in the price range you have mentioned, - I used to have one, and it was a lovely watch - as do Citizen (already referred to) and Seiko.

Then, I also recall coming across a few watches by Michel Herbehin in a pretty decent watch shop a good few years ago which were not outrageously priced.

They are actually an American company which was originally formed by a Danish couple living in New York. They are now part of the giant Fossil Group.

Ah, thank you; I hadn't known that. When I bought mine (back in 2002), I remember looking at their website and, at that stage, they were considered a Danish company.

My brother still wears the Skagen watch - which had been mine - that I gave him.

I think you were supposed to think they were a Danish company. ;)

Ah, I see. It was very successful, in that case.

Well, their website featured stuff in (lovely pictures of seascapes of Denmark, and nice poetic references to the Danish countryside, and Danish cultural values,...) and about Denmark.

Okay: You can consider me completely taken in....

Nevertheless, they are a very good (solid, reliable, well made, and sturdy) watch brand; they are also attractively priced for what the offer.
