I went with an 15" air for the first time, as a supplement to my primary work machine and since the M4's are similiar to M1 Max series which is my primary. Didn't order on day one, so my order was set to delivery 20th march. Funny enough I got an text message from UPS that a package is expected from Apple on the 13th, and tracking shows it's been shipped and on it's way — Apple's website still says, preparing for shipment with 20th as delivery 😂 fingers crossed it arrives a week early, and first time I've gotten an delivery tracking before Apple officially says it's been shipped.
Like I said earlier I expect Apple to under promise and over deliver on shipments of these, would be odd for them to not just have a boat load of stock of all variants ready to ship on launch, and it’s not like an iPhone that will sell out on pre orders immediately

I’ve had a couple things ship early from Apple in the past and the tracking on the Apple site just stayed on preparing for shipment or shipped for ages and never really ever goes to delivered even after delivered, good luck!

My arrival date for the MBA is supposed to be 12th-13th. From UPS's tracking site it is still in Vietnam as of 11th in the morning eastern time. Highly unlikely that I get the MBA today when UPS still doesn't even give a estimated delivery date as they don't have it in their hands.

Same for the iPad. It has a promised delivery day on 12th but UPS still hasn't received the package yet.

I can't see how Apple would "under promise and over deliver" in this setting. Having said that I hope they deliver Friday 14th as I'm there to sign for the packages and also have more time to set up the machines. I'm might even have to reschedule the UPS delivery because depending on work I might have no time to wait around for them to show up on wednesday and thursday.

Got a shipped text notification from Apple today. UPS still now showing a date. Its in HK now based on UPS app. Delivery date on Apple website has changed from March 12-13 to March 13 sadly :/

MacBook Air has shipped. Apple is now showing Thursday (3/13) for delivery, but using the tracking # provided UPS says "pending delivery date."

Edit: Same as MG999 above

Same here. Only difference the apple shop app still claims 12-13th. I still think that is a stretch. 14th looks more likely considering it needs to be flown to the US , probably arrive on the west coast or Chicago, then clear through customs, then get flown to the east coast and then trucked through various sorting centers to Boston.
I had actually expected that Apple has the MBAs already in the US (shipped a few containers by sea) and shipping is then domestic. I’m surprised they fly them over. Doesn’t seem economical and environmentally friendly to me.

Please update us when delivered. I'd be surprised if they missed. It never ceases to amaze me how they manage to work magic with the courier companies, but one significant thing that I believe that they do is do all of their custom's clearance offshore, so it's cleared in Vietnam before it even enters the U.S. That is a significant speed boost, I believe.

Interestingly enough mine is now back to showing the 12th through the 13th as well. I'm also on the East Coast, so it seems fairly implausible that it will actually arrive in my hands tomorrow. Seems like best case scenario would be that it gets to the West Coast today, the city I'm closest to tomorrow, and then gets to me Thursday.

I think that’s why CTO models all started with a “12th-13th” window while the “standard” models still show availability tomorrow for pickup. Apple is prioritizing the standard models since every store will have them. For the first time they have a 24GB model as standard.

Mine did the same but is now back to March 13th. UPS still shows pending delivery date. I think its unlikely to arrive tomorrow. If I had an Apple store closer by, I would have just gone it to get one tomorrow. But waiting an additional 24 hr isnt the biggest deal I guess.

I have just ordered a base Sky Blue to pick up from store tomorrow, delivery was available but Thursday and at my house the couriers seem allergic to the gate intercom button and would rather just chuck packages straight over the top instead!

I did have my eyes on a MBP but at the spec I wanted is almost 3 times the price of this MBA so I'll make do for now :)

I caved in and traded my 13" 8/512 M2 Air to Apple for a 13" Midnight 16/512 M4 Air. Got $500 for my M2 so total cost for my M4, $719 + tax. Not a bad deal. Arrives tomorrow according to UPS.
Try trading into Best Buy next time. I got $400 more at Best Buy than at Apple.

I pre-ordered a 13″ MacBook Air - Midnight | 32GB | 2TB about 1 hour after the announcement and should get it this Friday.

I would’ve preferred Space Grey but our Apple overlords giveth and taketh away.
Nice. I was tempted to get 32GB but opted for a 24GB 1TB Sky Blue.

Apple bumped up their trade-in values until 4/2 but IMO selling on Swappa extracts the most value for used Macs. Cuts one middleman out of the picture.

UPS now has not only a delivery date (today!! Mar 12) but also a delivery time window. 🥳 Apple has been bouncing between showing a delivery date of `Mar 12 - Mar 13` and `Mar 13`. I'm hoping UPS has the more accurate info. Not that one day is going to make that much difference. It did make it to my state, which is super impressive, so seems it will be here tomorrow at the latest barring some unforeseen hiccup.

Same here. Got an estimated delivery for today for a specific time window. I will be impressed if it actually makes it today though! Its still at a location about an hour away based on the my UPS app and just arrived there a fe wminutes ago. Lets see!

Like you said, worst case it will be tomorrow.

Congrats on everyone ordering and getting their Macbook Air machines today.

I am waiting for a bit to see some real world performance stats. That will help me determine if I jump to a new Air or look for deals on M2/M3 units.

My UPS also promises delivery in Boston today. No time window. However, given that the MBA left Luisville KY this morning I'm doubtful it makes it today. Well, I don't have much time to set it up today anyway so I doesn't really matter if it shows up today, Thursday or Friday as long as I can manage to be there to sign for it.

Out for delivery notice received from UPS and Apple saying "today is the day". Looks like it made it from Vietnam to Canada in 24 hrs. Wow.
