The weight difference, although small, was another reason she liked the Air over the Pro. She carries it with her in a laptop sleeve stuffed in one of those oversized Coach bags daily. That bag has a lot of stuff in it, so I guess saving weight wherever possible was important enough to her.
I just pulled the trigger. Yesterday when I was thinking about it, it was coming on the 13th… now it says the 18th 🙄

Ugh! Shipping delays are always lame.

What color/config did you go with?
I ordered mine (MBA 24GB, 1TB, Baby Blue) within the first 3hrs of the release. It says "preparing for shipping since this afternoon (Mar 6th ~4pm Boston time). I also ordered an iPad Air with engraving. Also says "preparing for shipping" since March 5th. I hope I get some early shipping as it would be nice if it arrived on a weekend where I actually have time to set it up.

I am curious to see how people (not YouTube reviewers) like the blue once they get them in their hands.

Your fellow forum members count of you for launch day pictures and first impressions. If you can't find it in yourself to continue embracing your forum role, you will leave me no choice but to report your post to the mods and let the Apple chips fall where they may.
We bought a house and there are endless bills to pay so I can't justify upgrading this year....

Please start a new first impressions thread when you get that sexy sky blue :D

I’m mildly interested. I mostly wanted something different in color and that was the only option. I expect it to be a rather subtle color, nothing like the iMac colors.

I LOVE BLUE!
my desk, Asus ponder blue laptop I sold last month, my house walls, the Canyon road bile,
undergarments, hats and bedding are BLUE!
BUT
im sticking with my 2020 MBA SILVER (and 2010mba) since that works as great as the 2025 MBA.

sorry Tims........

I haven't preordered yet but I'm planning to get the MBA baby blue with 32gb/512gb ssd, for me as developer is more than enough for coding, docker environment and VMs(But I have another linux machine that I'm planning to put 64gb ram for that).

Ordered shortly after announcement.

Silver 10/10 CPU/GPU, 512 Gb SSD and 24 GB ram.

Usually have gone for 16 gb ram last few years but with Apple Intelligence wanted to make sure I had enough leeway for future.

Was hoping for Space Grey, so disappointed to see it gone.

In Canada, with delivery date of " March 12 or March 13".

Nothing showing up on MY UPS yet.

Ordered MBA 15 BB 10/10 CPU/GPU, 512 Gb SSD and 24 GB ram yesterday about 10 AM EST. US (OHIO) del date Mar 12. Apple CC Charged last night. Purchased via the Military Site.

Played around with order site and if I selected 32 GB Ram or Black color del would be Mar 19. But above config Del would be Mar 12 - Go figure.

Update: Reconsidered purchase and have cancelled it. Will stick with current M3 MBA 15 24/512.

I cancelled my MBA 15” (24GB/1TB) order. I returned my MBP 14” (M4 Pro 24GB/1TB) today for a refund and found a MBP 16” (M4 Pro 24GB/512GB) in the refurbished store for £73 more than my MBP 14” refund. I never thought I could afford a 16” MBP so really happy now. It’s my main home based PC so weight isn’t an issue.

Did you originally buy the MBP in the last 2 weeks and decide you’d prefer the Air, so was returning it anyway? But then saw the MBP on the refurb store after ordering the Air?

Good deal though for only £73 more. Odds are it’s not even ‘used’ I don’t think much on the refurb store actually is. Ive read a lot of it is just products that may have failed QC on the production line for things like a failed chip. So they fix that and stick it on the ‘refurb’ store.

I’ve had an iPad off there before and as far I’m aware the only difference between it and a ‘new’ one is that the box doesn’t have a picture of the product on it but just the writing.

Enjoy!

I'm buying edu, but I will l likely wait for the Back-To-School Promotion here in Canada, likely starting in June or so. Thus that's probably 3-4 months from now. Hopefully they offer a free gift card again this year. Probably will get a 16/512 GB Sky Blue.

This is for the wife. Her 2017 MacBook Air still works fine, and the 8/256 will be sufficient until then. The main drawback with her current machine is the lack of hardware h.265 HEVC decode support, so some of her videos don't play, but they play fine on her iPad and iPhone.

I ordered the MBP 14” as I wanted a Pro specifically, unfortunately my eyes can’t cope with the small screen, I knew that as soon as I got it. I then went to pre order the 15” MBA for the bigger screen. It was only today while returning the 14” into a store that I spotted the 16” MBP on the refurb store.

Do you just sit on the Air threads and tell people to get a Pro all the time? Every time someone says something about higher specs on an Air it's "get a pro" from you. Every thread in the Air area, people are talking specs and bouncing ideas off each other.... and here you are "why not get a Pro?", "Get a Pro", or others.
  1. Not everyone wants a Pro
  2. Not everyone needs a Pro
  3. If you're not buying that person a Pro... or even giving them the difference... let they buy what they are happy with.
  4. I am glad you're happy with your Pro, but let people talk about Air specs without you butting in and say "get a Pro"
  5. It's not helpful to people who really want an Air.
I pretty sure an Air will be fine for me, especially I will probably replace it again in 4 years. $400 plus extra every 4 years I don't think is worth it to me... and obvious others feel the same. I cannot stand the mentality " I have (insert item), so everyone else needs too have it".

I use to be the type to get the best whatever is out there, now... as long it works... I'm fine.

I am typing this on my 2020 Intel MBP running Excel, Windows, Outlook, Teams, Apple TV (watching a movie), running 2 external monitors. My fan isn't running, it's still kicking, this is why I am on the fence even getting a new computer, do I really need it?
Do you just sit on Air threads and tell everyone to get an Air? blah blah blah blah blah blah blah no one cares sir
