So why would Apple say this is there (jelly), and is “normal behavior”

That’s literally a quote from them

'jelly' isn't a quote - they said a delay - I don't have it - web pages, doc text, in portrait mode - I just don't. I wouldn't care based on videos I have seen, but I am just not seeing it and wish I could have the minutes back that I spent trying to see it.

I agree with @mizzourah and so I guess I disagree with Apple too. Apple has a self-interest in claiming that all Mini 6 iPads exhibit this behavior. If Apple were to say that "only a few units are affected" that would cause everyone who has a unit exhibiting this behavior to run out and exchange them... maybe even multiple times.

Then Apple would be liable for consumer laws over lying about a product or it's defects. I doubt Apple would do that.

OK - well I’m not going to debate whether Apple is “publicly lying or not.
That goes in the direction I’m not willing to go

That just heads down conspiracy road and I just don’t think we can use that for debate points here on the forum
One does not need to engage in conspiracy to consider the motives of a company.

It's not like Apple ever intentionally deceived customers... they wouldn't cause iPhones to slow down in order to preserve a tired battery and then suggest customers buy a new phone (rather than replace the battery).
this is also a good and valid point (noting the tone intended)

Anyone who wants to claim this doesn’t exist - and for some reason wants to argue about this and call Apple a liar, etc....and is confident that their device does not exhibit jelly, please upload a 60FPS video in portrait and prove it.

I have not yet seen one single video where it’s not detectable.

Sorry — but anybody who claims they don’t have it, I simply don’t believe it until I see it at least one time.

What is very likely is that some people are simply not able to detect it.

I mean, jelly is the result of the delay. It's not actually jelly or jam on the screen, but the delay makes it look like jelly.

There's a difference between you not seeing it and you not having it. Just be pleased that you can̈́'t see it, don't know why you try so hard to see it since it's obvious that people's eyes/brains are wired differently.

I don't exactly know why this is so important to you. If it bugs you, don't get it. If you can see it, don't buy it. I can't understand why you need justification. Why do people need to prove things to you. If all the people on here who say they don't have it, do send you a video, it's still not 'every' unit. This kind of 'prove everything to me' mentality makes zero sense.

And just because we say it doesn't exist on our units, doesn't mean we're calling Apple a liar.

You are the one who came in and claimed it doesn’t exist.
You are the one that needs to prove that claim

If you are not able to detect it - that is fine!
But that is different than the issue not being a real thing

The reason I care about this is I am able to detect it and I have seen it in every single example and video I have seen thus far and I want Apple to fix it in the future.

That is why I care about this

Pretending it is not a real issue does not help anybody

You're willing to blindly accept the claim from Apple but not from people who claim to have a Mini 6 that doesn't exhibit jelly scrolling. (it must be THEIR problem that they can't see it) wow. :(

you couldn't possibly know what I can and can't see. I simply do not have it. It's not overly complicated. I wouldn't care if I did, honestly, again from the videos - it's not overly troubling, but I don't. And for complete strangers to tell me what I can and can't see or have or don't have on my personal device is incredulous to me.

OH it's on there, you (like me) just can't see it! And some that can, but isn't a big deal.

If you can’t see it how can you claim it’s not a big deal?
It really isn’t a big deal — for you

I appreciate you at least admitting that it is a thing
Same as Apple

You claim that you don't have it and I claim that you still have it. We both have our different reasons behind that so I think we should agree to disagree. Hope you enjoy your Mini, it's one adorable little gadget.

Easiest way to end this debate and be the winner is upload a portrait video and prove that you don’t have jelly scroll. I've not seen one single example yet that didn't have it.

Short of that, just admit you can’t see it and that’s the end of it

I have to logoff for a while -- excited to come back and see some video examples of no jelly!

Some people can't see it, and I'm one of them, but I know it's there -- it really is a thing and it has to do with how it refreshes the screen. If you filmed it and slowed down the playback, anyone can see it, on any LED panel.

People here are obsessive I can’t tell and I’m typing this on portrait as we speak. You literally how to film it in slowmo and know what your looking. Jeeeeeeeeez man.

turbineseaplane,

If someone can’t detect it, then it’s not a problem TO THEM. To claim that it’s a problem on every single device is to believe like there’s no possibility of variation from device to device. We know that tolerances aren’t so tight that every single device (of tens or hundreds of thousands) will perform exactly the same.

You remind me of the guy who bullied me over a Kindle screen several years ago.

If you see it and it bothers you, then the Mini 6 isn’t for you. But it’s not up to you to try to convince those of us who don’t see it or aren’t bothered by it that we are wrong and you are right.

I’m not pretending it’s not a real issue, nor are those of us who don’t see it. We’re saying it’s not an issue FOR US. Why should you care about us if we aren’t having the problem (for whatever reason)? Is your opinion more important than ours for our personal use? Nobody appointed you Grand Poobah.

Whose opinion matters more? The person to whom the device belongs or some random stranger on an internet discussion forum who will likely never see or use said device?
