This is a troll post, right? Either that or you must live in Asia where people care about this kind of stuff.
And believe me no one cares about you're 'image'. You're a schmuck just like the rest of us.
Not to mention people can tell if you have money or not regardless of the phone you carry. Here in America people live in crappy neighborhoods with a crumbling home, weeds in the yard, and holes in the roof, but there is a new BMW in the drive. No thanks. I use my phone to communicate not trying to fool anyone.

Wow I feel old. I remember when I got the original iPhone and people would stop me all the time to look at it. It was the top end $499 8GB model. Now in 2018 the $749 model is considered embarrassing? What the hell is going on? BTW I have an iPhone X and nobody in public gives a crap.
I have read about this conversation before with other members. They think a phone is a status thing, and even go so far as to say they judge people by the color of their texts and won't associate with or even date people who don't use Apple. I am sure it's a small group of immature people. They will eventually figure it out. I wouldn't worry.

Anything can become a status symbol.
Bugaboo strollers are status symbols, believe it or not.
Had no idea. Had to look that one up. Been a while since I've needed a Bugaboo stroller.

Regardless of what phone you own, if you think it is a status symbol and that people admire you for it then you have a personality disorder of some sort. Fact.
I think too it has to do with age and maturity. I have tried to explain this to my son many times so it is an issue with me.
I try to tell him buying fancy cars and wearing fancy clothes to give the impression you are well to do is fine, but it's temporary, and many people can see past it. He bought a Range Rover and when he drives it around it looks cool, people might think he's doing well, but yet he can't afford to replace the tires or repair the air conditioner.
I always tell him you want to be rich and flaunt it, fine. Work hard and amass your wealth then buy the cars and clothes. Not the other way around. You are only fooling yourself.
