Maybe this was already shared in 12 pages, but here are two leaks about the new iMac:

To me it looks like something very similar that they did for the macbook. Larger screens, narrower bezels, spec bump, done.

The guy is not usually very reliable when it comes to rumours. However, I must say it does look a bit different. Not enough from what I would expect.

here's a higher-res version of the interview

It could be just an optical effect (the more the image blurs, the thinner the bezels look). I wouldn't expect Apple to be so distracted to show a prototype on the background of a public interview. Comms departments are usually very attentive.

Furthermore, it is a 22/11/2019 interview. Quite dated.

Well if a new iMac is being launched imminently, we can be pretty sure it will not be a new design since all Apple Retail Stores outside of China are closing for two weeks.

You will be BANNED for saying that /s
That would be insane.

Anyway I think everything got delayed for at least 3-5 months.
Economical impact of the virus will be much larger than anything we faced in the past 80 years.
that's how I see it.
My opinion regular iMac will be 2021

I don’t know how the closure of Apple stores could tell us anything about whether it will be a new design or not. I don’t really see the correlation?

I don't think there will be a redesign this year. However it's possible that there is a small update either this week or next. Processor update, maybe a reduction in bezels.

I think there will be a redesign but later this year. As we come out of this virus and start to return to normality, Apple and other big companies will want to bring some 'hope' to us all and entice us with something new and shiny.

A lot of you are talking about “smaller bezel” and it would be great, a design like the XDR Display but, the XDR is very thick compared to the iMac
Display. So if the new imac Will have smaller bezels it’s correct to think that it will also be a lot more thick?

Any redesigned iMac/Pro should be thicker to accommodate improved thermals. The amount of that is up for debate.

Most want the black bezel edges "gone" or thinned more in line with how the MBP 15" became the MBP 16". That resulted in a thicker machine, but by millimeters. It's basically the identical size and weight as MBP 15 from 2013.

Due to an extended work from home situation, I was "forced" to pickup an iMac 27" late last week. Upgraded model that was in-stock at a retailer. Not the decision I wanted to make, but hopefully the resale value will hold at least 60%+ in 6-18 months if a new model that is more in line with what I was actually looking for is available. Nothing too exciting and have used this config machine in client offices in the past, so there wasn't even a wow factor to get ramped up about.

MacPro7,1 might have been purchased if W5700X was available and/or pricing released and/or 1TB models were actually currently in-stock and available for purchase. Still delays for weeks for non-baseline models.

If Apple was going to release a new iMac design, one imagines people might want to see it in person before spending upwards of many thousands of dollars buying one. With all Apple Stores now closed indefinitely, they cannot do that.

The XDR display is thick to cope with the heat caused by high brightness, 1,600 nits peak, 1,000 full-screen sustained. Typical monitor maximum is 350 nits. It has nothing to do with the small bezels.

An iMac would benefit from greater thickness for cooling the computer components, but that thickness wouldn’t need to be near the edges. The screen might need to be thicker if the screen is brighter to allow HDR.

The reality is, many people are not going to be able to afford “luxury” purchases in the coming weeks/months in countries being hard hit by Coronavirus. The MANY families recently had to run out and purchase additional new machines for at-home learning/education setups that are lasting weeks or months are not going to be upgrading and Apple already lost those users if it wasn’t on the shelf last week. Some of the iMac configs are already on the cusp of being unaffordable and bumping the entry specs to 2020 “standards” would go a long way to reducing this barrier and at least help move product (and help people).

Supply chain is very obviously massively disrupted. Looking like spec bump and later release for a new model may make more sense given this current global situation.

Look at the new Mac mini, it's just a doubling of onboard storage. Not sure what they could do with the iMac if they decided that a light storage bump was the preferred angle. Maybe another year of larger Fusion drive or bigger SSD component. Unless they really want to go full SSD before the T2 CPU is installed.

Swapping/updating all base iMac configs to SSD only would go a long way in reducing machine costs AND moving inventory. Would also let retailers sale all remaining FUSION-based products and can spin it as a good-will PR move to reduce costs to families and kids in this time of need. Down the line, I'd even be willing to guess more people would be willing to update base SSD capacity if FUSION wasn't an option - this is exactly what happened with many MBP16 configs.
