America will always big America up. I just mentally tuned out when Jim Bridenstine said 'we're going to launch American astronauts, on American rockets, from American soil again'., which was rather often. Nevertheless, I think it will reignite people's interest in space, which is brilliant. Looking forward to the next 5 years.Yeah, I agree. That was nice.
However, one thing I hate about it. It was hyped as America launch (which in essence is the main problem with USA these days).
Elon Musk is from South Africa and if it wasn't for him this thing would probably not happened.
Him and his team achieved something amazing. If it was for Nasa I'm sure even the space suits would still be similar to what it was 50 or so years ago.
I watched the stream and couldn't help (actually i was getting annoyed by it) that there was more focus on "America" than on the actual goal. It was insane!
If you create boarders you create just that. Same for racial and other discrimination.
The whole stream should have been handled differently. They should have replaced word "America" for "humans". Be inclusive not only for those that work in NASA or SpaceX that are originally from other countries (or their parents were) but also for everyone else. To me, that was the overall wrong narrative. Unfortunately, I don't see that changing anytime soon as American system is so broken that it will take generations and good people to turn it around.
Its a shame though. Our civilization could be in much better shape if the world leaders were better people.
Greed, corruption etc. is hardly going to move humanity forward. Sad sad reality ;-(

Back on topic.... Does anyone think Apple could announce the iMac this week, so they can focus more of software next week? Given today they announced something, it is possible they have a few things lined up this week.
