If you need someone to talk sense into you then let me know. :)
I'll shake you out of the lust thing :)

They say that value is in the eyes of the beholder (yeah, like beauty). I am afraid I will do a lot of beholding if/when a redesigned, shiny new iMac is announced at WWDC. I can do some SERIOUS justifying of why something is a good value, if it's something I want. Oh, and 'need'... of course.

"But honey, I've had the old iMac for 8 years, and have used it nearly every day of those years. Just think about how much LESS time I'll spend on a FASTER iMac," he says. "It'll be more time to spend with you!" (Try THAT with a straight face!)

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am back with more twitter 5h1tposts. Another 'leak', aka render.

Fairly certain thats just fan art/concept. I think the guy outright said all he has is the iOS 14 leak.

It's wacky, looking backlit because the foot is not dark.

So I just noticed that the "Displays" icon in macOS Settings looks pretty much exactly like that iOS 14 "Mac" icon a number of us are losing our minds over.

So it might very well just be a generic "Display" icon for like connecting an external monitor (which could be possible if the iPhone 12 goes USB-C as some rumors suggest). :(

Apparently the last intel chip powering an iMac is not as hot as we expected. Ok, Jay water cools it, but it's still a good result. Besides, the new AMD Ryzen9 3900XT has a TDP of 105W and AMD themselves suggest water cooling.

The only winner will soon be Apple. 5nm chips with the same performance but very likely TDP in the order of 40W.

Oh I can pay cash for my Apple purchases without any issue, but if someone (Barclay, Apple) are offering me to use their money for free for a time, I don't see why I shouldn't take them up on the offer and let my money earn some interest in the interim.
I understand your reasoning, but debt is still a burden even at 0%. The fed rate is near zero, so the only way to make a decent return is to add some risk — if you’re ok with that, then you’ll come out ahead — especially after a 2 year period. Maybe a decent high dividend telecom?

Semi-related, what are the odds they ever release a standard (non-XDR) display in the same design language to the eventual iMac redesign?

Look at it this way...I just ordered at new BMW X7 for $113k. I have the ability to just buy it with cash...but at 0.9% it’s almost free money. I can invest wisely and after 5 years it will have cost me no more than $30k. Capitalism at its best.

It's like an ongoing topic every year of how it is going to be to hot and than just is not. xD

please tell me how to invest $113,000 and make $80,000 over 5 years please

Be selvemployed.
Have the confidence to sell at a price that at the very least is sustainable.
Have sales skills.
Starts having employees to keep yourself from going crazy.

Or just be a coder, in that case anti social works as well. :D

I’m curious what you consider a wise investment that can easily make you over 10% per year.

It sounds to me like ... wait a sec ... Madoff, is that you?

Welcome to another day of ad infinitum discussion on whether the iMac bezels will be reduced, and if so by how much. Today's topics also likely to include financing of Apple products and whether Intel's 10 gen chips really are getting hotter. Contributions expected from leading climate change denialists.

I say apple makes the bezels bigger!

So WWDC is Jun 22-26. Would unveil be a day 1 type deal?

Yes. The keynote is day one.

Ooh, ooh, I know this:
I recently bought a used Merc C-class for $7500. Even if I would ditch the car in the sea in five years I'm still way more than $20k ahead in this particular investment while having used a car that's way less than $100k worse than yours. That would be communism, amirite? 😂
