I think Apple has never made a good mouse. On the other hand, their trackpads are excellent.
Surely you must love the mouse with the charging port on the bottom? That's genious. It's made to force you to take a break. Seriously, Apple's worst design blunder ever.

Anyway, starting to seem like this might be an announce and wait.. Typical for Apple. Hate those... oh well...

...says he may have a pic just before the event tomorrow...

Maybe it was the Apple design team’s way of ensuring Apple doesn’t overwork them :p

I wonder how the delay lines up with the imac pro late year release rumor. Hurry up and wait, hurry up and wait. ugg

For anyone thinking the iMac redesign is a no-go because of upcoming ARM CPU update:

iMac G5 (2005):

iMac Core Duo (2006):

Same design also gives a sense of security. It says "Nothing to worry about, you can feel safe, it's the same old good iMac despite the new CPU". :)

Nobody here has ever treated rumours as reliable news, though it is the only thing we have since sometimes we don't even have them at all.
All rumours have been posted on the forum. None leads to a simple CPU/GPU refresh.

What are your sources?
Common sense and conclusions based on all of the above rumors. How else to understand just one registered new iMac?

It leads completely. Even here, we have repeatedly talked about the fact that Apple may postpone the redesign of iMac until the transition to new processors -> Mass migration will begin in 2021 -> now there may again be a minor, as was the case with Mac Mini and MacBook Pro.

And the expectation of the WWDC may well not have a connection with this due to the fact that there may be delays in receiving 10 Intel for desktops.

This suuuuuuucks 😩

This is why you should never get your hopes up.

So basically, refresh with 10th-gen chips and no redesign coming soon. Redesign coming late 2020 early 2021 with ARM chips.

If there is no hardware tomorrow, this has gone from being one of the Apple events I am most excited about, to one I could not really care about. Great...

IF... they had iMacs ready back in March, there is absolutely no way they would delay this further. I am calling BS on Prosser about that old statement he made.

I too think a redesign now makes sense rather than waiting for Arm. It means they get interest and sales purely because it’s a new design, but then also get sales when Arm happens.

It's about making money now. An iMac 'ARM' is about 2 years away from now.

A xexy new design is £££ for the next two years.

"ARM‌ ‌iMac‌ will be equipped with the all-new form factor design and a 24- inch display. Apple will launch the refresh of existing Intel ‌iMac‌ in 3Q20 before launching the ‌ARM‌ ‌iMac‌."

So, there is a 24" not a 23" that makes the slimmer bezel a real thing...since 23" would be such a little estethical redesign from 21.5"
So, the 24" will get the ARM, as i said...like the smaller macbook pro. The bigger models will keep their Intel chips for one more year or two

Two Mac Pros have been previewed at WWDC and iMac Pro was previewed at WWDC.

The 27 is out of stock. The iMac should be shown with a new design and shipping some time in July.

This would really be problematic for me as I am hoping for atleast one iteration of this newly designed iMac with an Intel processor. I highly doubt many of the apps I use for work will be translated to ARM for years.

This thread and hype just met the fate of the Night King in Game of Thrones.

Again "coming later 2020 or early 2021" is just for the 24" ARM imac

But then is there going to be a redesign for the Intel iMac? Why would they bother? Seems to me all they have to do is update the CPU to stay current and leave everything else the same, and save the redesign for the ARM iMac.

I have no doubt that there will be an update to the Intel iMac soon. But it may be a spec update and nothing more.

It's the Steve Jobs playbook. And the transition took about a year give or take.

Apple put the Intel in Macbooks and iMacs 1st.

Apple will put the ARM in Macbooks and iMacs 1st.

This has been noted a few times. Both lines equate to most of those 5 million Mac sales. That's where the money is and for many Mac consumers the 'edge case' software will not be an issue. With access to iPad/iPhone and consumer Mac ARM software expedited by dev's in this next year. Most consumers will barely notice.

Why did they bother for the Mac Pro? They could have let it rot for another year. Why not make it 7 years rather than 6?

Because? £££. There is still money to be made. If a Mac ARM is going to be a year away from now. Still £££ to be made.

A refresh of the design now. And a further refresh down the line for Mac Arm.
