Looks like my nightmare will come true after today's reports. I never trust that greedy salesman Mr. Cook when it comes to Macs and redesign but after all these rumors, I was on the train too..
Nevermind, since I hate and know Tim Cook's behaviors, I have already bought a base 2019 5K iMac in February and was planning to sell and buy a new one if they'll come with a really but really properly cooled hardware.
You're totally one of the customers Tim Cook wants. Also, 2020 iPad Pro is a dead born product. A12Z isn't different from A12X on the 2018 model while the 5nm cpus will become a reality within a few months. We have a 2017 iPP too and it's still going strong. I simply wouldn't do what you're planning.
Yup. I'd keep his iPad. And buy the next one (the A14X) next year.

Let me get it: Apple won't introduce new iMacs and the present models are in backorder for more than a month.
Therefore the result is that Apple just won't sell desktop for Q3 2020?
Unbelievable. *(Azrael insert: 'Cabin fever.' Plus Apple are probably 'messing' with their leakers...)
Ye-ah. *not* going to happen.
Apple have to announce hardware tomorrow. Mac ARM.
Devs have to test it. Apple will have to show them how to write to it. Demo it. Allow devs to 'buy' a Beta kit...preview of the Mac ARM iMac which will sell late fall/early '21.
So there IS going to be 'some' hardware.
And...the other bit of hardware is 'at least' updated iMacs. With the substantial refresh.
New design.
Substantial spec refresh.
Both of things are going to be true tomorrow.
I can see Apple 'boasting' their preview of Mac ARM iMac outstripping the 21 inch iMac...whilst giving the current iMac a 'deprecated' Intel refresh. Apple still have to sell to Intel Mac customers. They aren't 'not' going to do that for half a year to 3/4s of a year...

If there is no new iMac announced tomorrow, im thinking I will update my iPad Pro to the new 2020 version (from my current 2017 iPad Pro) instead.
There's nothing wrong with your 2017 iPad Pro.
Wait until the A14x. And the 'non-flexy' frame.
