same! I’d be good with Space Gray and a fix to the cooling, I’m fine with the big bezels that everyone complains about. I seriously don’t care about that and I’ve always liked the “chin”.

This.
* Space Grey
* Updated CPU Chip
* Stays cool = doesn't throttle as much = better performance
* Get rid of fusion drive.
* Can keep current design until AS imacs.

Yeah. Sort of like a hybrid solution, taking over iMac Pro.

More and more devices comes with USB-C. Thunderbolt still need certification, making far harder to build a device with.
Right, almost a half decade into the transition. My point exactly.
USB-C only was customer hostile back in 2016, and still is (somewhat less) in 2020

Lol, are you serious? who is trolling? my previous post was about how I wanted to finally treat myself with a new computer and I yet I'm not lucky again, because it was delayed. Are you oversensitive to that kind of posts or what?

I felt like i was being made fun of for wanting a new iMac and trusting in leakers after venting for pages on how i will hold on to my 2015 MacBook because i have strong dislikes for the MacBooks after.
If it's a misunderstanding i am genuinely sorry.

Yeah. Prices on that stuff is crazy to. One of the Thunderbolt cables for MacPro costs almost 150€ in the Apple Store. For a two meter cable. Thanks but no thanks.

I can't keep up with you lot. I don't refresh for one afternoon, and the thread has gone bananas.

It's f**king impressive how much 5hi1 you can all chat about a non-existent product ;)
Its called social media. Its always been mostly vacuous banter. Welcome to the 21st century.
Where have you been for the past two decades?

Jeez, someone’s in a foul mood.

This thread was more fun with the OG crowd (Azrael, DrRadon, pldelisle & co). ;) Thankfully they maintain a strong presence here <3

ps. Night. Look forward to going through the next 7 pages during breakfast tomorrow.

Gnight sweetie

@DrRadon we have a lot of work to do ! 😂😂😂

Assuming the first keys on your 12 inch MacBook are already stuck imma give you some time to type and will be getting some sleep in the meantime myself.

P.S. found another recently acquired piece of tech that uses classic fat USB (to charge). My two month old electric toothbrush.

If not tomorrow, I wonder if next week we'll get 'an update a day' type thing with Air Pod's, iMac & Air Tags. I recall something like that happening a couple years back.

I've been relegated to guest star :). I can live with that, I don't think i showed up until April or May.

I feel personally offended. 😂

So just to be clear, are people here going to buy an iMac with updated Intel chips even it isn't redesigned?
I'm waiting for the 27" (or more) AS-based iMac. So I will be waiting for 18 months or so. And that's ok. This old mid-2011 should last until then. If not, I have a 2016 MBP, an iPad, and an iPhone. Should be enough to keep me in business until next year.

As I said, I hope the ARM iMac won't be release during winter ... Gonna be cold to sleep in a tent in front of the Apple store... I wouldn't like to be cold during the night ...

Cold, in Montreal? No! There's just a 'chill in the air' in Quebec winters. :)

They've got 1.5 trillion behind this.
This time? They'll bury Intel and M$.

Azrael.
Although I am a huge fan of competition, I think Apple Co.'s new AS-based systems will put Intel so far into the back seat that it'll take them a LONG time to catch up. And by then, A-Co. will be on the A2x Uber Bionic chip - so maybe there is no catching up? Then who would keep Bottom Line Tim (or his successors) honest? We definitely don't need a repeat of the 2010's, where iMac was left to collect dust on the Cupertino shelves, while Apple paid all of their attention to their other products!

I think what will keep Intel afloat is the HUGE 'captive audience' of users that need x86-based systems on which to run their legacy apps. I truly sympathize with my Wintel-friends.

Big source....

I have shoes older than that source. They might even be more reliable!

And if I hear "soon" or "imminent" one more time.... 😡

I think we get 'foul' now and then because we've waited for YEARS for our iMac dreams to come true. And every year, nothing but promises of 'wait until next year'. Hopefully next year has arrived! I'm not holding my breath for tomorrow to be the moment. But it HAS to be sometime soon, doesn't it? 🤔

Yes, Az, DrR, pldelisle et al keep thing thing lively. If it weren't for their shared experience, entertaining posts, and civility :), I'd have given up on this forum a long time ago.

Hope the 7 pages of catch-up are well worth the read!

I must admit I have a bit of spare time because I’m writing this f**king thesis which is a pain in the a*s and is boring as hell 😂
