I wouldn’t be surprised if Komiya and Jioriku is the same person tweeting to himself.

I think a issue some people on this forum have is that they only read "twitter leaks" and put it all in the same pod. Jioriku is one of the good ones, there is no reason to discredit him like this.

Okay Jioriku...I mean Dr.Radon. 😉

I’m not sure what constitutes a ‘good leaker’? What percentage of correct guesses do you need to achieve. When you throw any and everything at the wall, you’re eventually going to something right. But what about all the wrong guesses.
I’ve said all along, any one of us could be a leaker. Maybe I’m LovetoDream and just yanking everyone’s chain here.
I prefer Ming Chi Kuo or Marc Gurman who are real people who actually put their neck and reputation on the line.

Like Gurman with his WWDC announcement of a redesigned iMac? Just because someone publishes him he is not always right. And leakers like prosser and l0vetodream also get published, just indirect.

Can you format an external hard drive on a Mac. Format it.

And Boot Camp it?

Azrael.

Pretty certain right now that is possible.

Could it be a week of announcements? I'm very doubtful. But I guess we will see. I personally doubt that Apple would announce the AirPods Studio without an event, they are after all a new product (even tho they are part of the AirPod category). As for the iMac, I personally think it won't come until October at which time we will get a redesign (thinner bezels at least).

No, they don't always get it right. But my point is they don't hide behind a Twitter account.

In news absolutely no one cares about anymore. The mid tier 27 inch is sold out again in the one store it was avalible in again here in germany. Also the low tier 27 inch was available in two stores during this week for a hot second is now back to only being available in one store. The high tier one remains to be available in just one store in all of Germany.

It seems like the idea of a flood of new stock filling up all the stores within a week or two (like it happened with 21,5 a month or two back) might be of the table as the limited machines seem to sell rather quickly.

Meanwhile refurbished iMacs have seen yet another filling here. Last time that was gone in hours.

Surely it can't keep going on like that?

An update...must be imminent.

Azrael.

Yea they keep refilling the iMacs on the refurb store but they are gone within an hour every time

You have to hand it to Apple's interenal mac security. Tight as a ***** drum. They must be under threat of death. Rarely do we get a solid mac leak. If I were on the imac team, I'd be chomping at the bit to show it off. I guess internal iphone parts are more interesting to more people and probably get leaked at the supplier level.

Tons of people have been sitting at home working remotely and cursing at their old computers over zoom. What a perfect time to unleash anything you have up your sleeves. Not sure why the delay then..

Actually prosser was spot on when it came to the MacBook 13 inch, a month ahead of time as well as minutes before it's presentation. Don't know about the other MacBooks n stuff that came before.

If it is a newly designed machine incoming, I hope it has a more flexible/adjustable stand. Something that could adjust height would be amazing, perhaps inspired by the new iPad keyboard.

by now all of them are sold out (store resupply date 18th august, but again only referring to Dresden as the one and only store in germany) except the hievest tier 27 inch. So just within the last hours whatever they had moved.

the tweet about the October 27th event(IPAD PRO) Im assuming he means the 12.9 inch iPad Pro which will have the mini LED? Would be great if that is true that is the iPad that I want but is it possible for apple to release two ipad pros in the same year?

20 odd years ago I was a regular on this site, this was always the near certain tell back then. I might show my modern ignorance by saying it, but the longer shipping times and this happening made it a certainty.

That said a lot has changed too.

I have watched the store put up around 10 or so lots of 27" iMacs, (for the most part - but not always - carefully mixing the high end CPUs with lower specced SSD or Fusion drives, and throwing in RAM as a value add instead of reducing prices on lower tier machines as much as before).

They've flown away within hours, which illustrates big demand and poor stock in stores. I'm so not used to seeing this with Apple having not really bothered to shop around as much since I finished college.

But based on the old metrics, looks to be right around the corner.

Hard to keep track of the iPad rumors, so many sizes and names being thrown around. Seems unlikely they'd release yet another update so soon, but I don't believe it's completely unprecedented, and anything is possible. The last iPad I bought was the 2018 12.9" pro. It's flat out the best device I've ever bought. A joy to use. Perfect size for me. I want a 32" version on a stand now (they can call it iMac). I can settle for 27" with no touch screen. ((see how i answered and got back on the iMac topic!)).

No, they don't always get it right. But my point is they don't hide behind a Twitter account.

That's not how the media works, legitimate sources have always hidden been anonymity in most fields.

The current political climate in some countries might have tried to build a false narrative around it, but International Security, Finance, small Business and Politics have always passed on information to journalists and the public this way.

Apple and their suppliers would be no different.

It's one of the cornerstones of smart business and democratic government, that communications/marketing and unofficial channels speak to the public without causing a media frenzy at their front door.

It's been happening for more than a hundred years, despite the narratives on offer by some cable news channels.

I have the 11 inch ipad pro 2018 model, if they were to release a mini led 12.9 inch one in October I would definitely upgrade mine it would be worth it just not sure since they released an "Update" in March, even though in my opinion it was a pretty pathetic update, just a camera bump, nothing special, so they could do something amazing in October just not sure. Would love an iMac too, never had one before would be great!!

It's been looking like that for month though. The issue is the pandemic, otherwise i feel certain this new lineup would already be on the shelfs. If only because it would have been super fun for Apple to release it way before the ARM announcement.

That's a great point about the pandemic, the supply chain is not a field I know a lot about. If you were trying to buy a dishwasher in most US states though, you couldn't get one till very recently. Same with most consumables, TVs etc.

Everyone in the few countries I've visited since February were setting up a home offices, buying tech and renovating kitchens/homes like crazy as stock of most items being used wasn't being replenished.

Crazy hold over times everywhere.

I think you’re missed the premise of the discussion. I don’t disagree that businesses leak information on purpose. What I’m suggesting is the credibility of these said ‘leakers’.

When you hide under anonymity, there is no fear of backlash because no one knows who you are. If you’re a paid shill, a worker at Foxconn, or Billy, a 16 year old kid in the basement of his mom’s house.

Satchmo (aka LovetoDream?) 🤷🏼‍♂️

Truncated version of what I wrote: legitimate sources do hide behind anonymity, and always have.

Credible, anonymous leaking has been a part of business and democracy since these institutions were born.

Its weird some other apple "leaker" wrote tweeted yesterday that the iPad Pro 12.9 inch mini led is coming out March 2021 so I guess every leaker has their own opinion?
