We did have that one week where Apple did do a PR for a new product (almost?) every day, so there is technically precedent...

Yeah. If you want to you can say Monday is "a month after" WWDC with that lasting till Friday. You could also argue that three new products introduced right before the earnings/investors call would be nothing to shabby since there has been nothing new to sell for three month now. Especially with the 27 inch being pretty much of the shelf for two month by now it would be decent to just have the new one in stores before people ask questions on the call.

Then again. If it's not there (we only got a 100% unproven twitter account after all, might just be boredom on the weekend) they would just say "we have great new iMacs in the Pipeline" like they did at WWDC.
But like i said the other day. Apple dos not care about you, they care about their stock holders... so maybe... i just don't want to get my hopes up again and wast my concentration on refreshing the Apple Store in the afternoon...

I hope this isn’t just person after person reporting on the same leakers twitter and it’s multiple leakers hearing the same thing from sources

Probably doesn't want to be left behind just in case it is Monday. Didn't do too well with his other leak this week. I think Apple said MacOS public beta in July. They can't go far wrong now with their leaks.

This whole leaker thing is a load of bull****. Any idiot who wants attention and Twitter hits can make a claim. 99% of these "leaks" are false/BS with zero inside info'. You have as much idea when a product will launch as these so called leakers. Speculation is fun (and fills forum pages) but there is no way I'd use them as a way to inform buying decisions.

We know new Intel machines will be released by Apple (Tim Cook @ WWDC), probably this year.
We know ARM Macs are coming, timing unknown.

Thats it.

perhaps attention seeking but it creates so much of hype on here too!!! Without these "leaks", there would be tumbleweeds blowing through here.
Yea true just kind of frustrating.
Jon - iMacs ready to ship
Mark - new design and other iMac goodies ready for wwdc.

And the list of empty hopes go on: s0n iMac, iMac Monday, iMac in days or weeks. On and on lol.

Who cares? iMac’s huge bezels and fat chin from the 2009 era are iconic and timeless even today.

Well, i had been saying for month that it won't change.

But this is just one leaker claiming it won't, going against his own words even (before telling us that intel and ARM will be different redesigns, now saying Intel will stick around but only get the redesign after ARM) while everybody else still is on the "it's a redesign at WWDC and everyone agrees till 24 hours before the event" news.
Some guy even is claiming this next week schedule is already of the table again.

I guess it's best to wait for one of the most reliable accounts to say something before we get into hope for a new iMac to much.

I´ll be very happy to unfollow all of this once my new machine is ordered/has arrived.

A redesign of intel iMac after the AS iMac has been released and an update tomorrow? Makes no sense at all.

Yeah, that feels very odd. Unless you go the "24 inch ARM/27 Intel" road for one year i highly doubt that Apple will release the same product with two different chipsets. It's always been "do what we want and pay a premium - no matter how painful it is for you" with Apple.
A switch like this not "really" precedented i guess, but having the exact same model while being able to pick intel or ARM seems like something extremely unapple EVEN if software (or hardware, thunderbolt only MacBooks for four years now, cough) is not up on ARM yet.
Plus MacPro just got a new design and that one will probably be the last to switch to ARM.

Even if the leaker is actually claiming "i say this rarely, but i can promise this is no redesign".

And by the way. No new EU selling/security model numbers have been seen by anyone right? I forgot how far they were able to reuse old numbers.

An aluminum stand without height adjustment from the 2004 G5 era is maybe impractical, but simple and beautiful at the same time. That seamless radius of curvature from the single piece of aluminium is an art.

LMAO!!! Same iteration of design for the consecutive 6th time or so. Totally ridiculous. Not that I would buy an intel imac even if they updated the design, just before apple releases the superior AS models. I prefer to hold off to the arm imacs, they will be miles better than the ancient intel based computers.

Actually, I messaged Komiya and they are saying that it can be either new design or old design coming out this coming week. At this stage they are unsure about the design aspect

It's quite weird that now people are listening to leakers that have like 1000 followers and not really good track record. If someone says "New intel iMac *could* be released this week" it's not a leaker, it's just a guesser.

I understand that people are frustrated about the iMac, which became just another product that is forgotten by Apple for many years, because it is not making that main profit.

If Apple was Porsche, they would still produce a 996/997, because Cayenne is making several times more money. But it doesn't work like that if the company is really smart. Every product that makes the product-line complete is important and the heritage and enthusiastic customer base is as important as profits.

The funny thing is that people don't expect miracles, they just want to have an up-to-date computer every year and a redesign (evolution) every few years. Computers are not cars, they doesn't need years to be developed, yet Apple is pretending they need such a long time to produce something.

and the new one, when released, will make this iMac design look even more ancient than it does already. I am sure the base on the new one will be nice too.

We are actually here because someone (unproven) said Monday with certainty.
