really really hoping the macbook 16" has 4 TB ports. totally don't expect it too though.

Leaks of the chassis from the manufacturer already confirm it will be 3 TB/USB ports, HDMI and MagSafe.

Does a beefy dock like 80-90w, have enough "power" where i could route all items thru a dock and have the dock be the single TB device on the macbook itself?

Well M1 should draw a fair bit less power than Intel, but I also expect Apple to ship a power brick with less than the current ~90 watts found on the 16" Intel models.

Many docks offer power pass-thru so you could connect them to a third-party higher wattage power supply and have more than enough juice to power the MacBook Pro as well as most peripherals you would connect to (and draw power from) the dock.

Not even in the wild-ass guess rumors category let alone a fact. I haven't seen anything about a supposed "leak" from what some ransomware group supposedly did. Not even a poorly crafted CAD drawing. And apparently neither have you.

I already posted the details on macfacts.com.

They need to bring back the powerbook duo.

Why are you acting like this? You clearly miss some info and you come here with snarky comments which in return make you look a bit foolish.
Why? Why not just ask and learn so that way the whole level of this thread is nicer.

Think about it

Chances the Mac Mini "pro" will have something the Macbook pro 16" does not has spec wise?

I think (but I hope i am wrong) the mac min pro will have that 1 extra (for a total of 4) thunderbolt ports.

While the 16" macbook will only have 3 of those ports.

Discuss.

10 Gbe they haven’t put one in a MacBook at all yet

If we don't see a larger iMac launched alongside the MacBook Pros this Fall, then it pretty clear it will be coming in 2022.

And if it's 2022, then I worry that this larger iMac will be marketed as the new iMac Pro with Jade2C-Die as the base SoC and a Liquid Retina XDR 6K display.

And that is going to bring a high price (I could see a starting price of $3999 with J2C, 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD).

And to be honest, $4000 is too rich for me for what I use my iMac for. I'll either get a 2020 iMac 5K or if Apple launches a new large (27-32") Apple Thunderbolt Display, I will get the 14" MBP with it.

Maybe the mac pro jr. (the g4 cube lives!) becomes the middle ground between the 24" imac and the pro?

I do believe we will see a smaller Mac Pro-class machine using Jade2C-Die and Jade4C-Die.

I also think we could see another Intel Mac Pro (Apple spent way too much money on 7,1 to just abandon it after one generation and if they did, that would just put their already chilly relations with serious professionals into a deep freeze).

So maybe Mac Pro 8,1 for the Intel machine and Mac Pro 8,2 for the Apple Silicon model.

I was on the fence, and i might get an office outside the house this fall for some quiet.

so I will be leaving my 2017 imac i7 for a maxed out macbook pro 16"m1x.

today sealed the deal for me.

The imac has been a fantastic machine these past 4 years though. OTHER THAN THE FANS!!!

The iMac Pro has been discontinued.

The Intel Xeon powered model has been discontinued.

If there is a new iMac Pro, it will be powered by Apple Silicon and be in a different form factor aesthetic.

And that Apple refers to the 24" iMac on the store as just "iMac" could be a sign that the ~32" model might be just "iMac Pro".
