Picked up some "regulars", but a new one from Uinta I hadn't had before, Hop Nosh (not the Tangerine variant). Solid IPA (7.3% ABV, 82 IBU), citrus/grapefruit, a little pine, long bitter finish, lots of mid drink maltiness (that I like), canned with a "drink by" date so very fresh, nice carbonation, very low booziness, really in my sweet spot for IPAs.

I had this on tap the other day. Not too bad!

I am digging this company right now. I was able to track down another bottle of their imperial stout. One very tasty beer in my book. I would love to try it on tap!

Sounds gorgeous.

Tonight, I am sipping wine, and tonight's is a red from Burgundy, from the Closerie des Alisiers producer, which tells us that the grape used is the high maintenance Pinot Noir, and that the wine itself is an 'appellation' wine from Burgundy.

A Burgundy?! It has been a while, will into one, thanks for the reminder.

In general, I prefer the whites from Burgundy.

However, last night - on my return from a few days in two other cities - I attended what was called a 'wine class' in the 17th century basement of my favourite wine merchant's.

Sauvignon Blanc (in France) and some reds - Grenache, Pinot Noir - were also looked at.

Those who wished got to take some of the opened bottles (the bottles that had been used for the tastings - well over a dozen) home.

People chose what they liked; my preferences were the Pinot Noir, (I like Burgundy wines) and the wonderful Chamfort - heavy with Grenache - (which reminds me a little of Chateauneuf-du-Pape).

Well, I'm sipping a double IPA (rare for me) from Fieldwork called New Sensation. It's cloudy and juicy and remarkably dry for a double.

I'm not sure how far outside of Northern California they distribute (although they're clearly in the middle of a mega expansion locally), but their IPAs are fabulous if you can find them near you. Draught only!

Again, the Grape has won: My tipple of choice tonight is a superb Grand Vin de Bourgogne - the wonderful Puligny-Montrachet - Appellation Puligny-Montrachet Contrôlée - Les Charmes.

This is a superlative white Burgundy.

I have finished the superb Grand Vin de Bourgogne - the Puligny-Montrachet I opened last night: A stunning wine.

And now, as a special treat to myself, I have just opened a bottle of "Over Forty Year Old Tawny Port" from Noval.

Oh, bliss........sublime....smooth, elegant, balanced, superlative.....

We are waiting impatiently for our annual wine tasting. 150 vendors. Hundreds of wines from all over the world.

It’s like Christmas in November!

Yes, my wine merchant's annual Yuletide wine tasting occurs in late November, too.

If I am around, I shall happily pay it a visit.....

a few bottles from our favorite central coast winery including some not yet released futures.

Popped open a Bordeaux this evening (Haut-Médoc) with the intention of it lasting through the weekend.....

We'll see!

An aspiration that is just a bit ambitious, if not insanely optimistic, I would have thought.....

Because: Is a seriously good Haut-Médoc supposed to last the week-end?

Two nights - absolute max - is what I would give it. More likely one.....

Just visited a place that sells wines and Italian cheeses with some colleagues.

We all stocked up......that sounds so, pedestrian, and greedy and needy. A re-write phrases it: A number of us sallied forth today and purchased - after giving the matter much thought - some wine.

My purchases included Montalcino, (a few bottles), a decent Alsace Riesling, a decent Alsace Pinot Blanc, and a white Chilean reserve.
