Harvested my real batch of Kombucha yesterday, totally delicious!
Of this restart. Not 1st in time.
Missed it so much!
Had another tiny batch last time and got 2 small glasses, and used rest to get more going.
This time it’s a few liter at least. Wonderful.
Now I have 2 x 10 liters tanks plus a 5 liter going for harvest in ~12-14 days.
Will fill up a few more small 4-5 liters additionally containers next time.
Then it will be pretty good batches for awhile. :):p

A naughty mid-week drink this evening. Not in the office until mid-day tomorrow so a couple of Jim Beam and coke's for me with plenty of ice.

New wine club the wife joined. Central CA, super boutique and all 100% varietals. Relatively pricey for the area, but very unique and good tasting wine.

Since the US is not in the world cup, I will be pulling for Germany and England. So I had a few German and English beers today:

Gaffel Kolsch - Not to bad, had it in a bottle.
Warsteiner Premium Verum Pils - Again not to bad, had in a bottle.
Kostritzer Schwarzbier - One of my favorite german beers. I don't know why, but this one is really good to me. From what I have heard it is actually one of the more common beers for Germany.
Boddingtons - One of my favorites. Had it in a can.
Old Speckled Hen - Love this beer too. Had it in a bottle.

I must say that I applaud the way you are approaching this matter.

Gosh, you had more than I did and I watched the first three matches. Ended up sleeping through the last match of the day. Bit weird cracking a beer at 3 AM. I think I'll opt for some chilled white or a nice red since there's a cold front in the area. Enjoy the weather this week, Rhett.

I was pulling for Pura Vida. :(

Celebrating Mexico with olives, cheese, sliced Russian meats, and my second Rochefort.

One of the delicious glasses of Kombucha from the 1st batch.
Good fizz too, but was way better when 1st opened this bottle.
You get it, if it's this good in the end of the bottle.
Unflavoured, still a healthy drink for gods and goddesses :)

Even though the team I am pulling for during the world cup lost over the weekend, I was still able to support the team by drinking a few, not all, German beers or German style beers.

  • Blanche de Bruxelles; on tap and boy this was a very light and actually very drinkable Belgium style wit beer.
  • Weihenstephan Original Premium; on tap and it was rather tasty. Very crisp. This one comes from one of, if not the oldest brewery in the world.
  • Tripel Karmeliet; on tap and this was was rather delightful. Lot's of fruit notes with a strong banana taste. Actually had two of these since I liked it so moch.
  • Kostritzere Schwarzbier; in a bottle and this was the last one of the night and for some reason this beer is one of my favorite beers. I have had it both in a bottle and on tap and they pretty much taste the same. Even had a mini keg of this at the house once. Good stuff.

All this while enjoying some traditional German food; pork and veal sausage, Bavarian pretzel, and Chicken Schnitzel.

I've had the Tripel Karmeliet and it was stunning.
