And now, a bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape (a hunt in a crate - prompted and prodded by memory - revealed at least four different bottles of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, all extremely good, two outstanding: It is high time to greet them) - so, I am now happily sipping the contents of a bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape Château La Nerthe. Sublime.

Visited my wine merchant today - the manager is a friend - to enquire about a bottle of Margaux I had noticed on a shelf at the wine tasting a few nights ago.
It comes from the owner's own personal collection, a gift from some years back that he had entirely forgotten about; the bottle - as I realised when I was shown it - bears a date from 1993. "Don't know whether it is still drinkable or palatable," said the owner, thrusting it at me. Try it out, he said, and tell me about it, and if it is okay, I'll do a deal with you for some of the others. It seems he has half a dozen of them.
The Margaux was wrapped up and stashed in my briefcase; I also bought a Chablis Grand Cru, a Chablis Premier Cru, and a bottle of white wine (rather than the more usual red) from Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

Am sipping a glass of Chablis 1er Cru, - an excellent Chardonnay from the Burgundy region, from Vaillons Closerie des Alisiers.
Another splendid stout: A collaboration brew from Lervig called "3 Bean Stout".

A beer from Buxton: Buxton X Dugges (a collaboration); Ramberget An India Pale Ale.
A second excellent beer from the Buxton Brewery: Generation V Brettanomyces Double India Pale Ale.
And a third, also from Buxton: Their excellent gooseberry sour, Trolltunga.
Of the beers you talk about that I can’t find, this is the one I’m ever on the lookout for. Even in Oxford I had trouble locating it.
favorite winery did a brown bag mystery sale. paid $55 each and received bottles worth $250, $155 and $145. not too shabby!

This is a beer that I am pretty certain you would love; it has a fresh, tart, slightly sour (gooseberry) taste, is very refreshing, and yet an elegant heft, too.
Apparently I missed out on a time limited Lagunitas sour called black swan. Any chance you tried it, @mobilehaathi?
I have sampled some of the excellent products from Lagunitas, but have never laid eyes on Black Swan.

I have never heard of a "brown bag mystery sale" but that does look like an impressive haul. Do enjoy them.
