Been out this afternoon with my mother and father for a lovely meal. Then with father to his local pub. Had 4 large Brockman’s gins with elderflower tonic water (Marvellous!)
And now for something completely different. At least for me.
Hibiscus cocktail.
It took most of the afternoon to make.

Looks amazing; what is in it?
A crate of CBS from Founders, a half crate of Curmudgeon's Better Half (from Founders), and from Belgium, several bottles of of Trappistes Rochefort 8, and Trappistes Rochefort 10, plus four bottles of St Feuillien and a few others were also delivered this morning.
You got another crate of CBS!!!!?
Yes.
A full crate. Twenty four bottles.
To go with the twenty one bottles (I succumbed to temptation and consumed three bottles over the past two nights as anyone reading my posts here may have noticed), of CBS in another crate.
And a half crate of Curmudgeon's Better Half.
WOW! Very nice... Are these the big 25oz bottles!?!?! Super jealous! Enjoy!
A few beers at a local brew pub, an ESB, a dark Czech lager, and a Belgian saison...
I enjoyed it, it’s fairly smooth like a lager, but with some bitter and toasty notes that round out the flavor (sometimes lagers can be very bland). In some sense it’s a lighter porter, but don’t let that turn you off...it was called La Noirceur. What is the dark Czech lager like?
I've had one or two over the years, and they have been excellent.

Honestly I only really drink bitter when I’m in the UK (with occasional exception); I too love the style. But I’m not in the UK today...I love ESB's... Which one did you have?

It was a house brew, from Saint Houblon (Saint Hop) in Montreal. Surprisingly hoppy for an ESB, but still nicely balanced and quite tasty!
