Honestly I only really drink bitter when I’m in the UK (with occasional exception); I too love the style. But I’m not in the UK today...

It was a house brew, from Saint Houblon (Saint Hop) in Montreal. Surprisingly hoppy for an ESB, but still nicely balanced and quite tasty!

Ahhh... One of my favorite ESB's is from Fuller's. There is a local pub that has it on tap a good majority of the time. Every time I go to in it is first on my list!

One of the more intriguing of the Achouffe brewery's offerings is the Houblon Chouffe beer (that stupid auto-correct altered the name of the beer twice before I could persuade it that, no, I wished to write what I wished to write).

The "La Chouffe" beer from them is one of my favorites! Haven't been able to find it on tap yet, but the bottle does just fine! And since it is that time of year, if you can get your hands on the "Nice Chouffe" is out and about! Another really good beer from them.

I reread my post and realized it could be misinterpreted. Probably a result of having a few pints.... When I’m in UK i drink mostly bitters, as I love the style. I wish more brewers in the US would take on the style and make some attempts. I had some pretty good locally brewed bitters in CA, but it seems sometimes that everyone is so obsessed with IPAs to the exclusion of other great styles!

The N'Ice Chouffe is a lovely take on Yuletide quadrupel Belgian beers; and La Chouffe is excellent.

For those who like dark beers, I cannot recommend McChouffe highly enough.

And - I somehow feel the need to reiterate this point - but their labels are utterly divine, simply gorgeous and quite irresistible.

I love Fuller's ESB, but I have not had a "bitter" only style beer. I went through my records and I haven't found one. ESB is the closest I have come to.

A couple of Kwak ambree beer. Terrific even if the waiter spilled the first one, which splashed a bit on my iPhone. Arrgg seems ok though it was just an inconsequential amount of liquid. The beer is very good.

I'm drinking the Mumm Napa Sparkling Pinot Noir.

Mumm is underated as hell and really affordable. My wife even got to use her Christmas present on it.

Enjoyed a Chimay Grande Reserve this evening.

That is a lovely beer; which of the colours are on the label?

I would assume the blue label... Assuming of course. The blue and gold label (blonde) are the only two Chimay beers I like.

I cracked open a bottle of CBS this weekend and enjoyed myself!

Had a craft stout called Jimbo Slice from Captin Fatty's Brewery. Which had hints of chocolate in it. It was actually really good!

Had a bottle, keep in mind a very large bottle, if you consider 12oz a large bottle! But this badboy was over the top and oh my god it was sooooo good at the same time.

Dogfish Head 120 Minute Imperial IPA! The one I had clocked in just under 18% and most say this one clocks in well above the 120 IBU... I tend to agree. Another name for this one should be the "taste bud wrecker" or "you will never taste another IPA like it, you are welcome".

I only had one and one was enough. Holy smokes does this one pack a nice little punch!
