Does Californian - especially "So Cal" - IPA differ from the IPA style found elsewhere?

Today, I spotted a beer from Buxton (an excellent British brand) which purported to be a "So Cal style IPA".

No, it depends on the brewing process and what hops are used. There tends to be the juice east coast ipa versus the west coast hoppy ipa. They both can make the same style, and they do. There are plenty of ipa's done on the west coast that fall under the "juicy" style.

Ah, I hadn't known that; thank you for explaining this to me.

because I'm not a beer aficionado, I cannot properly answer that question. I'm guessing that are styles that are associated with certain areas, but I'm not sure. That brewery above probably makes 5 different IPAs.

Picked some of this up also.

Well here is a new one for me! Ordered online, and picked up in person at the local brewpub. This one looks like an unfiltered Apple Juice. Little or no head. Check out the yeast on the bottle top. They warned me about that look.

Read the picture of the back label for their take on this bold brew!

Check back later for pics. Sorry says Uploads Not Available

The very first Trappistes of 2019.

I've had older years before. A very, very good beer if memory serves correct. And I wouldn't worry; you'll eventually find someone else who shares the same interests. As long as you're not like Charlie from The Cool Kids. :p

I'd like to know too, not sure whether to have a Cuvee des trolls this evening or the Punk IPA or something else entirely.

Which one?!?!

Excellent question!

I'd like to know too.....

Actually, I cannot say anything other than it was exceedingly welcome and consumed with greedy gasping gratitude.

When I arrived at the bar, I had simply requested "a large beer (dark)", and each and every one of my colleagues had also gasped "a large beer" when the server arrived to take our order.

A little earlier, some of us had experienced a rather - er - fraught and somewhat tense time with security at Frankfurt airport (as did some Muslim families who were passing through at the exact same time); consequently, the need for a beer had become imperative - and, as German beers tend to be good, I was not too bothered about the finer points concerning the precise name the beverage went by; in fact, I didn't even consult the bar beer menu before placing my order.

Today, in my off-licence (it is also an outstanding delicatessen), I was informed that a crate of Founder's KBS had made an appearance.

With that in mind, I decided to buy 18 bottles (the rest of the crate to contain Trappistes Rochefort 10, and two remaining bottles of Founder's CBS). I can expect to take delivery, or receive it, on Monday or Tuesday.

A crate of KBS (from the Founders brewery) was delivered today, along with a smaller crate of Trappistes Rochefort 10, and the last two bottles in the store of Founders CBS.
