Having a “Hobgoblin” IPA. @Scepticalscribe; Do you chill your IPA’s before drinking or have at room temperature?

Room temperature.

Lagers are about the only beer I will drink chilled; dark beers, stouts, ales, all taste better at room temperature, whereas, to my mind, chilling a beer too much stuns the taste into insensibility.

Just had a mellow lager - pretty balanced. Unknown as my wife handed it to me decanted & I did not buy it. Tasty none the less, nice fruity nose so European yeasts. I enjoyed it.

I tend to drink my beers chilled, especially so if the beer is excessively aggressive on the pallet like an IPA is. It suppresses the alcohol & bite of the hops to where it doesn’t completely run
over ones pallet. This is important to me as I am almost always eating when enjoying libations.

Room temperature has been debated a lot, my personal room temperature it is around 15 Celsius.

I think that men prefer cooler room temperatures than women.

My definition of preferred 'room temperature' would be a few degrees higher (than yours) in summer, and, somewhat more than a few degrees higher in winter.

Currently sipping Fuller's London Pride Original Ale.

Pubs had Elysian as a BOGO, so I picked up two 6-packs of their exceptional Space Dust IPA, and I already had quite a few options in the fridge - and then, as is my typical timing, my monthly beer shipment also arrived. The beer fridge is __full__ :D

A full fridge - like an amply stocked cellar - is a thing of beauty to contemplate.

There is a wonderful wine bar normally based out of a truck promoting local wines. This summer there is a stand by the English garden by the lake of Geneva. Enjoying a terrific rosé de pinot noir from the Geneva Domaine des Esserts 2019. Looks like a thunderstorm coming in a few hours to refresh things. Excellent selection of red, white, and rose as well as sparkling all local.

A rosé e pinot noir?

I have never laid eyes on such a beverage, let alone tasted it; how does it compare with the more usual pinot noir wines?

Very refreshing but with a good body and a more robust flavour than other roses at least to my palette which is usually oriented to lager or white wine in summer.

Likewise.

In general, I am not much of a drinker of rosé wines.

However, I have been quite taken with Chateau Val Joanis "Cuvee Josephine Rosé," which is made from Grenache & Shiraz.
